The Rebel Forces Were Strong But The Smith's Are Stronger TR-7/20 FINAL THOUGHTS

Your poor, sweet, melting little girl. When you said she got salt from the popcorn in her eyes I got all teary myself. How pitiful.

The Star Wars parade looked amazing. We had Sci Fi reservations at 11:00 so we missed it. I'm not going to show Tom to pictures so he doesn't know what he missed. ;)

It WAS pitiful. But it is amazing what a 5 minute power nap can do for salt in your eyes :rotfl2:

I love looking at pictures, so no worries here! Poor Ash (and everyone else); it sure did look she was suffering. I can't even image how the CMs in the costumes felt!

The costumed characters took extemely frequent breaks...which was part of the issue with the lines and the rotating. The lucky guys who got to just ride in the cars!

Poor Ash! I'm sure it must have all caught up with her then.

I'm glad I'm not a SW fan, I couldn't bare those types of crowds! I can guarantee I'd have a meltdown too

Not that I'm stalking you or anything but has your work unblocked the DIS since you've been posting today?

I was just saying to myself (and yes I often talk to myself) it was about time you started your TR. Of course you already had started. I just didn't know about it till now.

I still have yet to read through it but I wanted to mark my spot and let you know I found you. So far I've only seen a glimpse of Aisling's star wars dress and all I can say is "Wow". That dress blows any dance costumes we've had to a galaxy far, far away.

I'll be back to post actual comments soon. But PM next time you start one if I haven't shown up yet. I don't want to miss out on any of your reports.

I was close...I have to tell you. If I didn't have to behave myself in front of Stacy and Jessica it might have gotten ugly :rotfl2:

I was wondering where you were!! Although I knew that you were busy so I didn't want to bother you!

Technically, it's not blocked. I can get on it. But I *could* be questioned about it and I'd rather not have to defend it as "work related" However, I'm on vacation! Aisling graduated Friday but camp doesn't start until next week. Hence the DISing today ;) Think we are going to head to Maine tomorrow for a couple of days.

Lucky you!! Enjoy your vacation!! :goodvibes

Those boys were so sweet to worry about and take care of Ash! Did she pick one yet for a future DH? She should lay her claim now! :rotfl:

Thanks for all of the parade photos! I loved them - makes me think I want to try a SWW some day!

I am here, though I stink at commenting (as always!). It was so super hot and sticky and busy! Ash did soooooo well that day. She only had that mini meltdown when she got butter/salt in her eyes, as would anyone! She was so well behaved for normal circumstances. Taking into account that she had minimal sleep, she was an absolute ANGEL!

Jackson decided that Cooper was going to marry Ash. Cooper and Ash firmly maintain that they are just good disney buddies! The boys still talk about Ash frequently and I have been reprimanded more than once for "stealing" Ash's yoda clip (it will be mailed back with the pics).

Thanks for all the compliments on the star wars dress. I love to make things for Ash- she is the PERFECT model! She knows how to smile and pose for the camera, knows how to work the dress and shows it off for anyone who asks. She was seriously so much fun to watch when she got all of that attention.

Okay I'm caught up.

All your melting while watching the parade is scaring me about my upcoming july trip.

Do you think it was the chocolate that kept Aisling up till the wee hours?

I hope Randy didn't let her have any melty chocolate any where near that gorgeous dress.

Lucky you!! Enjoy your vacation!! :goodvibes

We did! Thanks!

The parade photos are great. I never did go for a SWW weekend.

If you ever decided to go...just avoid Memorial Day!

Stacy commented below but it was Cooper all the way. She was obsessed with his curls and kept kissing them. Not him...just the curls :rotfl: But then when Jackson started teasing them they were sure to make a "just Buddies" pact. I think poor Cooper was really nervous that we were marrying him off

I was telling Randy about your next trip (and your fuzzy Disney math) and Aisling got all excited! She thought I meant WE were going with you! She was so upset when I told her not this trip!

Oh definitely no chocolate in that dress!!! The chocolate covered treats from Chocolate Moose were safely in the room fridge! I'm trying to remember if Aisling even had any??? She might have at the airport but that wouldn't have kept her awake. It was sure will-power at that point. She was determined not to fall asleep and miss anything.

Hi all! We are back from our mini-break to Maine. It was kinda cool and rainy so we didn't get to do some of our usual fun stuff. We got back JUST in time to watch the DVC webcast (we were running late from a brief stopover at the Kittery Outlets :rolleyes1) Aisling watched the podcast with me and I'm telling you, she should work for DVC...she was more convincing than the video :rotfl2:

Awww, poor Aisling! I don't blame her one bit - I'm emotional mess when I'm tired, and I hate being hot - I'd be crying too! :lmao: But how cute that the boys were fanning her!

The parade looks awesome! And I agree, that must be some heavy duty makeup to withstand that kind of weather!

Well my last update question was a trick one...we got into a bathroom line after the parade ;) :rotfl2:

Potty break aside, we had one ride in mind...

Well heat combined with 3 hours sleep combined with my motion sickness issue wasn't sounding like a good combination to yours truly. So I decided to sit out. The 3 kids, Randy, and Stacy braved it. When they got into the line-it was listing a 45 minute wait. It was 70 by the time I walked back around the building. Personally I had a mission...one that may have been aided by a Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwich ;) I took everyone's tickets and got FPs to Rockin Roller Coaster. I am sad to report that we never used them. Our return time was right before the park closed and we had other plans. FPs in hand, I decided that I would head to one of the special souvie shops that they had set up for SWW.

Those of you who have been to DHS will get this a little better but I walked from ToT to the Backlot Tour and back. It took AN HOUR. Yup, an hour :scared1: That's how bad the crowds were. And I walk fast. I was slightly slowed down because I had everyone's bags but I'm still fast. And I was on a mission. On such a fast mission that when i heard someone yelling "ma'am, ma'am" i thought nothing of it and kept going. The poor woman finally caught up to me in front of TSM (which now had a 120 standby) holding Kirsten (Aisling's AG doll :scared1:) Luckily that was all that I had lost.

I arrived at the Backlot Tour and was escorted into the souvie shop. Yes escorted. These SW people are really serious about their souvies  I entered and a CM asked if I wanted to see a price list. Again :scared1: What???? You can't just look around???? Nope! You had to go through a roped off area and tell the CMs what you wanted and they got it for you. $160 later and I was out of there in less than 2 minutes. And I don't like SW!!!!!!!!!!!

With more bags in hand, I headed back to ToT to meet up with the riders. On the way, I got stopped by the Streetmosphere performers

The guy kept yelling "Ma'am, Ma'am we rent strollers you know" I thought he was making fun of all the bags I was carrying! Until he said "you don't have to carry your baby in a backpack" These are the little touches that make me love Disney

Well in my hour trek across the park, everyone was back from their trip to the Twilight Zone. I handed out pressies to the little riders and then we decided that everyone was hungry and we should try to eat before battling Vader.

We headed over to Starring Rolls which despite the completely packed park was empty. Randy's cousin had highly recommended this place for lunch and it did not disappointed. I had the turkey sandwich, Randy had the ham, and Aisling had a PB and J (and meat from our sandwiches!)

Meals come with chips or a bakery good and a drink for your DDP people

Kids Meals come with the usual choices

142.jpg

While Stacy was getting her and the boys' food, J demonstrated how hot it was...the paper was just sticking to him

143.jpg

Aisling returned the favor to Cooper (from the parade) and sprayed him down

145.jpg

As we were eating, we discovered why the restaurant was empty. 1) everyone was at the backside of the park at TSM/SWW and 2) if they weren't there, they were at Beauty and the Beast. The show let out and suddenly Starring Rolls was PACKED. Tip- visit here during the afternoon show.

We got done eating just in time to battle the crowds to get our little Padawans to their meeting spot!

They were really sweet to her. Their momma taught them well :thumbsup2

I can't believe it took you an hour:scared1:that's crowded!! I loved that streetsmophere policeman...we saw him in January and we absolutely cracked up...so funny.

I had no idea that you needed escorted into the shop and given a price list....who woulda known:confused3

An hour!!?? :scared1::scared1:

I am going to make sure I never ever go to SWW. Especially on Memorial Day.

Did you get anything good at the Kittery Outlets? ;)

It was crazy!!! As a fast walker, it drives me nuts to walk slow. Being by myself, I could weave in and out of families but still it was walls of people

LL- we just went to GAP so I could see if they had some cheap hoodies. They did  So hoodies for the family and Aisling got a couple of things for camp (gotta love that summer stuff is already on clearance in mid-june!)

An hour??????????????????????? :headache::headache::headache:

Were these SW souvies special or do they always have them? Glad you found what you wanted! Starring Rolls is yummy! We ate there in the morning! Its a great location too...very central! ;)

No they were special just for the weekend. I was picking up stuff for friends so I didn't spend the whole $160 on Aisling/Stacy's boys. But of course, have we asked about the stuff I did buy since we got home??? NOPE! :sad2:

Wow, crazy crowds and waits that day! Yikes! It's so fun to hear about someone else's SWW...we had some of the same experiences. Going through the roped-off part of the store for souvenirs. And I think we have a very similar picture of that turkey sandwich! :) By the way, I also am a fast walker and have a hard time being stuck behind slow-walkers, so I can relate to how you must have been feeling on that long walk.

Can't wait to read more!
