the music i listen to doesn't autotune the crap out of it. i see that more from pop artists and hip-hop artists now than from metal.

That's what I was talking about, lol. I don't mind metal-- not my favorite because I like to understand what they're saying, but at least the instrumentalists can do their own thing.
