Puerto Ricans often, but not always, change r's for l's. For example, the word "ir" ("go") might sound like this: "il", when said by a Puerto Rican.
Puerto Ricans often, but not always, leave s' out of words. For example, the word "campeones" ("champions") might sound like "campeone" when said by a Puerto Rican.
Puerto Ricans often shorten words. A good example is the words "para" and "padre" ("for" and "father"). Puerto Ricans might pronounciate those as "pa'l" ("para") and "pai" ("father").
