The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

Crystal Palace is good. Pooh and friends are great!

But what is the deal with Le Cellier? I've never eaten there and am not certain what all the hype is about. I wonder if it's all that it's cracked up to be.

And I cannot believe it's that difficult to get an ADR for Le Cellier :scared1:

When it comes down to it, it's really about the kids isn't it?

If it had been just the two of you, I think you both would've decided on something more adult.....

Good parents.

I wanted Le Cellier for the maple bbq glazed filet. Without that, I just don't want to go.

I was looking forward to that too. But there are a couple of other things there I want - namely the Cheddar Cheese Soup (willing to pay OOP to try it), the pretzel bread and the maple creme brulee.

Charles: WHAT??? No appetizer???
Me: (Slightly exasperated because I have mentioned this numerous times) I have told you this before.
Charles: No appetizer???

He was floored by this news which wasn't really news because I had been telling him this since August :headache: . Suddenly, he was looking at the menus in a whole new light.

This irritates me too, because there are appetizers that I'd like to try at some of the places we're eating too. Although, I know if we got apps, I wouldn't be able to finish my meal, never mind dessert. So, there's that.

In my humble opinion, what would be ideal, is if they let you pick either an appetizer or a dessert.

Disney. Dining. Plan. Heaven.

CM: This is an old number.
Me: I have had it since I was 180 days out.
CM: This is for Le Cellier!!! (No, not again!)
Me: Yes.
CM: (Laughing) If you are sure...
Me: I am sure. I figure it will make someone's night.
CM: You better believe it. (Still laughing as she presses buttons to cancel).

I swear, sometimes I think they have more of a vested interest in what and where we're eating than we do!

:flower3:

Crystal Palace is good!

Typhoon Lagoon picture is cute.

Whew! I was kind of worried about your review when I saw that is where you are headed next on your TR.

Edit: Well, I thought that was where you were headed next, but I see it is Tony's. I guess I will have to wait for your review of CP :).

Thanks!

Oh my goodness! I cannot believe it! I would never have guessed that your DH would follow some line of reasoning that would put him on par with me! I, too gave up, Le Cellier in favor of being able to dine at the Crystal Palace on our upcoming trip. I thought, for sure, you'd be going somewhere else. I am still in awe of this development! :lmao:

I am in awe of this development, also!

Charles loves large quantities of food.

Rookie mistake...YOU narrow it down to 2-3 places that you want...making sure that in those 2-3 choices you will be happy with whatever he picks...then you enlist his opinion. He thinks he's invested and you get what you want...it's a win-win. Always works for me....

:lmao: I need to remember that for next time :thumbsup2 !

Don't feel bad about doing CP over Le Cellier. I am sure your children will enjoy a character dinner more than a typical sit-down meal. Here is a good way to think of it: you can always go to a good sit-down meal in any major city, but you can only go to a good character meal in Disney.

Good point! I am really not upset because I know there will be lots of choices at CP and no one (myself included) will be pitching a fit.

I learned my lesson and now I lie. Biff wanted CM and I said it was booked. I did not like it last time. A little lie cannot hurt. :)

OOOOhhhhh you are evil!:worship:

:lmao: I would have to agree with Chel, but I am totally remembering the little lie for next time!

That's why I don't ask for opinions unless I know it will be the same as mine!;)

I thought LeCelier was good, but not as good as everyone on the dis says it is. But that's just me.

:lmao:

I think I got too sucked in to the whole Le Cellier is wonderful mindset -- I didn't even know about it until I started reading the DIS boards.

We have eaten at CP for breakfast and enjoyed it -- everyone seems to be saying that dinner there is also good, so I am fine now!

I think it's so cute that Charles wanted to switch from Le Cellier to Crystal Palace!

I NEVER would have guessed that is the one he would pick! He tried to change Yak and Yeti and Teppan Edo to buffets at the same time, but I put my foot down. He was obviously in a buffet frame of mind last weekend.

When it comes down to it, it's really about the kids isn't it?

Good parents.

Yes, that's the official line I am taking -- it's for the children! ;)

Our grown-up meal choices will be in October -- I wonder if Charles will still try to go with buffets. :rolleyes1

Cheese soup and me -- not a good combination. Maple creme brulee and me -- that would be fine. However, I was reading the dessert choices at CP and they are winners in my book.

This irritates me too, because there are appetizers that I'd like to try at some of the places we're eating too. Although, I know if we got apps, I wouldn't be able to finish my meal, never mind dessert. So, there's that.

I agree although I am sure I would always choose dessert -- that's my favorite food group!

I swear, sometimes I think they have more of a vested interest in what and where we're eating than we do!

I wonder if they make commissions off of certain restaurants??? I can't imagine that they would.

Crystal Palace is day 4, I'm finishing up day 2 tomorrow. :rotfl: I will say that I don't think you will be sorry about going to Crystal Palace.

I so loved the Crystal Palace. We throughly enjoyed our dinner there... by far the best buffet food we have had at WDW!

I am looking forward to seeing any pics that you took of the food!

One of my worries is that we will have to wait forever -- I am hoping that with a 4:55 ressie, it won't be too bad.

Hurray!!! :cheer2:

I do really like the idea of not having to leave the MK to go to dinner and then going back again -- we don't have a good track record of returning to the parks if we leave for dinner.

Well I had a lot of pictures of Adam's and Daisy's face and feet from when we were sitting on the porch waiting and they had my camera.:rotfl:

We didn't have a good track record for returning to the park after leaving either.

:lmao: That's too funny -- anything to pass the time when waiting!!!

We didn't have a good track record for returning to the park after leaving either.

My family is notorious for not wanting to go back -- that's why this trip, I only made 2 dinner ADRs at resorts -- for Chef Mickey's (I figure we have two nights planned at Epcot so if they decide to not go back, it's not the end of the world) and Boma (by the time we are finished, we won't have time to go back to Animal Kingdom).

I am learning...;)

Today is one of those strange, quirky twists that can only be explained by the full moon.

What can it be, you ask?

Why, it's 50 Days until I am in WALT DISNEY WORLD!!! party:

And...

25 School Days Left!!! :jumping1:

Multiples of Five (and one is half of the other) -- it won't happen again! (I don't think).

In celebration of the 25/50 Day, I will post my DIS tags that I will be sporting in 7 weeks.

Here they are before I put them together:
DISTags.jpg

Here they are finished:
DISTagsFinished.jpg

The flowered one and the Tinker Bell ones will go on the pool bag and my park bag. The Mickey and Friends one will go on the camera bag.

Charles has given up trying to figure out the DIS cult -- on the other hand, Chelsea was completely perplexed by the notion of the tags. I have tried explaining it without sounding completely whacked. Which to someone who isn't on the DIS is difficult. "Well, they are kind of like a way for DISers to identify other DISers :scared: ." It's completely out of Chelsea's realm of experience.

She will see. She will see.

Love the tags!!! Now I'll know what to look for! What a great idea covering the name with the stickers. I've been putting mine in the microwave, tearing them off, and pasting them to cardstock. I might be a copycat.......

Just wait until someone actually comes up to you in the park becuase they recognize you from the Dis. It's a surreal experience.

Those tags look great! I am impressed by your handiwork. :thumbsup2

Thanks! Copy away! I couldn't figure out how I wanted to do the tags, and then one day I was playing around with all the scrapbooking stuff and thought, "I could just cover up all the words and stuff."

Thanks! Every now and then I manage to produce something worthy of being posted on the DIS :lmao: .

Love the tags!

Thank you! Hopefully I won't feel silly having them on the bags -- I did color coordinate them to everything. ;)
