The Problem Is Too Much Pooh

That's right, I can't stand Winnie the Pooh. But let me explain. My family and I love meeting characters at WDW. Every character greeting holds something new and time we get to spend with Disney characters is time well spent.

But seriously, enough Pooh already.:headache:

He's EVERYWHERE! On our last trip we saw his fat behind at Crystal Palace, the England pavilion, 1900 Park Fare, the Hollywood Studios hat, the HS Animation building, and Main St USA. We were there for only 4 days.

Why can't there be some different characters out there? I mean, Pooh took over where Lotso was last year, and he's all alone. No Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, Kanga, etc, just Pooh. What a great group photo that would be with all of the Hundred Acre wood characters together! But no, we get more Pooh.

I get it - he's popular. But Disney needs to get creative in the character area. When was the last time anyone saw Huey Dewey and Louie? Does anyone remember who they even are? Any recent sightings of Kuzco and Kronk? Character freaks would go nuts just to see some of the classic Disney characters circulating again. Get the Beauty and the Beast crew off stage and put them in front of the hat once in a while, do something different.

Usually too much Pooh will send you to the doctor's office, but at WDW it seems OK.

Your second question answers the first. :)

Winnie the Pooh is one of my kids' favorites. He's a must see every year.

I'm shocked there is no Toy Story character meal though.

Pooh is a busy bear!!!! I can't imagine how he can be in all those places--must spread a silly old bear very thin!! ;)

The title of this thread conjured up memories of my children as newborns. I sometimes thought they were virtual Pooh making machines. :rotfl: Everywhere one looked, there was Pooh!

Being a huge Winnie the Pooh fan, I kinda like seeing him all over the place. And actually you didn't mention the Landing at AK. That's another spot. I figured you guys just didn't make it there.

But with that said, I do see your point. I thought there would be more than just Pooh at the Animation Building. What a missed opportunity there. I know one time we saw Rabbit in the UK and we were so excited. You never see Piglet, except at CP. And I would love to see Christopher Robin and what ever happened to Darby.

But personally, I do think that since Pooh is so popular that there does need to be one meet at greet, outside of dining, at each park. But more than one is too much. Give us some other characters. I personally would love to see some Robin Hood characters out all the time. And how about the dwarfs being out all the time.

And as long as we are wishing. How about new ones like. My DH would love to see Cheshire Cat. :ccat: And speaking of animals, how about Lady and the Tramp.

I know right? Little Einsteins and Special Agent Oso? Really?

Give us a meal with Toy Story and villains and we're all set.

I would like more disney classic characters and less Pooh as well.

And I would love a character meal geared more for boys! Lets see a pirate meal, or star wars, villians or heck - even toy story. At the top of our wish list is a pirate meal.

I completely agree with this! Since we do the princess meal for our daughters, we are doing Chef Mickey's for my son. I just wish there was more of a "boy" meal --Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean or a villians meal would be wonderful!!! And yes, we are eating at Crystal Palace just so we can be in the park early, but none of us are crazy for Pooh! ;)

Yes!

You must have missed him at AK. ;)

But yes, I agree. The WORST is DHS where he's out by the hat AND in the Animation building. They need to get him out of the Animation Building. Anyone know when that will swap out again? Surely it won't be all the way until summer. :faint:

Maybe a character from Pixar's 'Brave' coming out this summer? They put Carl, Russell and Dug there when "Up" came out.

Bye bye Pooh...

I hear ya. I like Pooh, but I just can't stand Tink. And she's freaking everywhere. Or at least her merchandise is.

I totally agree with you, I don't mind a little bit of Pooh but as folk have said he is everywhere. I understand he is a popular chap but there are other popular characters out there who could definitely use a bit more face time!

I actually read a rumor that Merida would take Rapunzel's spot in the MK and Rapunzel would join the other princesses in Town Square Theater. Don't know how accurate that is though.

I think there is too much DUFFY. Who is that bear, anyway?:confused3 :surfweb:

Well, the tone of the thread is much better than I thought it would be. When I first looked I thought this thread was someone complaining about too many Pooh sized people at Disney:rotfl2:

Anyway, yes I agree there is too much Pooh at Disney.
