Day 6 Animal Kingdom
Today we get up early and head out for breakfast. We get to Animal Kingdom around 10am and immediately the heat in this park seems much more intense than any others. The weather is fantastic again and the park is busying up. We stroll around and take in some of the sights. I just love the tree of life. It looks so amazing.
We decide to try for lunch at the Rainforest café and there is a wait of around 20mins. When we get in both girls are a bit funny about the surroundings and sometimes a little frightened. I thought the theming in here was fab. Every 20 mins there was a different thing happening from the Gorillas moving and the elephant heads in the walls. As luck would have it we were seated right in front of the fish tank which kept the girls amused. Chelsea was a bit freaked out but Rebecca started to enjoy it and was even doing the gorilla actions with sound, lol. We had burgers and the girls had hotdogs. The lunch was very nice and we decided to have a volcano for dessert. If you ever go here please get one as they are delicious. Also on bringing it to your table the servers all shout out very loudly volcano, lol. I think from memory the bill was around $75 including tax and gratuity. After we left we went to get a fastpass for Kilimanjaro safari
The girls also got into some dancing and we laughed at them tottering around.
We took the girls to meet Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Eyore. Then to Camp Minnie and Mickey were they enjoyed taking part in some fun and games with the CMs.
We went around the trails and made frequent use of the misters. We then took the girls to the bone yard for some fun before deciding to try and catch the Pocahontas show. We went in and took our seats and the girls took theirs in the childrens area at the front. Next thing we see one of the CMs approaching Chelsea and we wondered what was going on as we were a few rows behind. We could see her being given instructions to do something and then the CM went away. She came back just as the music started up and welcomed us all to the show. Just then she called up Chelsea and introduced her to everyone saying that she had been chose to be a mini camp member and had to complete 2 tasks to do so. She first had to hiss like a snake and then bang the drum which starts the show. She was so chuffed and so were we. It was a very memorable moment for us all. At the end she was given some leaves and a magical moment certificate.
We headed for our fastpass and we all enjoyed this one. It was very fun and bumpy, lol. It was good to see the animals and it made for a great day.
We stood and watched the Jungle parade and went to Dinoland taking in a few rides there. By then we were all shattered and headed back for the night.
