I have always loved "The Price Is Right" and would jump at the chance to be on it, but I am a little bit disheartened by all of the news coming out about alleged sexual harassment behind the scenes. Has anyone else seen the E! True Hollywood Story? It seems as if Bob Barker is a lecherous old man, and now I don't enjoy watching the show as much. Just goes to show how different in real life some people can be! :(

I think he is going to be the only regular on the show too...
They got rid of all the models and I think Rod Roddy is gone too..

I thought I heard somewhere that Rod Roddy has been fighting some type of cancer - prostate maybe? I hope they don't get rid of him too!

Since I saw the Happy Gilmore movie all I can think of when I see Bob Barker is Adam Sandler punching him and saying, "The price is wrong, b@!#$!" I just cannot get it out of my head every time I see him now. :p

I've never been a fan, but I did see that show last night. I was not surprised, I'm quite sure there are lots of lecherous old men in the entertainment business.

I watched The Price Is Right over Christmas. Rod Roddy is still there.

I watch the Price is Right once in a while. I used to watch it all of the time when I was baby-sitting during the summer. The little girl would go to her friends house all day! :D Easiest job I ever had!

I used to watch TPIP, until I went to a taping of the show. It was so fake. While you're n line waiting for the soundstage to open, they have you jump up and down and yell and scream to "pick contestants". The folks that were picked were the very last to arrive, and wore outrageous outfits, they were talking and said "Now act surprised when you get picked!" Ever notice how whenver there is a large group in the audience, a least one of them gets picked..or the ones that say "Oh Bob, I love you, and drove miles to be here."

After that taping 22 years ago, I haven't watched it since.

I used to be a faithful follower until the day all that baloney came out about Diane and the "sexual" escapades they had.
I got over that as it was a mutual relationship and began to watch a little.
Then another gal left and that was it.
I recently tuned in a couple of weeks ago to all the big boobed gals on and it just wasn't the same friendly atmosphere anymore.:(

So now what is going on? He is harassing his new "beauties"? I haven't seen anything on it.

LOL...why am I NOT surprised? :D :D :D :D

So Chuck are you telling me you went to a taping and then expected to be picked at random like the show is perceived and then your hopes were dashed as you found out it was rigged?

That would irritate me too. I wonder how they pick the contestants then?

Someone told me that everyone in the audience gets a short interview while in line and they pick those they would find the most exciting. They definitely are not picking names out of a hat.

I think our own Judy from Boise was a contestant on Price is Right, and I believe she won a car! That must have been before the days where contestants were hand picked, I do remember her saying that she was very surprised to be chosen as a contestant. I also remember her telling me Bob was orange from all the makeup he was wearing, LOL.

I used to cut a guy's hair who went on TPIR and won a car. He was a college student. His family is one of the richest in our town. He certainly didn't need to win a car but I think he had fun. I do remember him saying that it was such a small studio compared to how you perceive it from TV.

that Snoopy has a memory like a steel trap ! Prior o going into the studio, they line you up 5 abreast ( no pun intended ) and give each person a 15 sec interview. They actually emphasise to keep in line.......I think i was picked because as soon as they asked me a question, I stepped out of line to answer ! And yes, Bob was pumpkin orange....but he seemes very nice and personable.

I saw Bob Barker recently on Larry King...he admitted that the choosing of players was not random...they go through the audience while they are lined up and talk to them...they are looking for happy outgoing people who will make the show interesting.I forgot why they let Janice go...or did she quit. Dianne, in my opinion, had her fling with him, didn't get everything she wanted and tried to hardball him...and he did not back down. I have heard Holly was let go because she was gaining weight. Bottom line is we will never know the truth.

I never really watched TPIR but I do remember watching "Truth or Consequences" as a young girl and thinking this man - Bob Barker - was something special because he had this power of surprising people and making them so happy.

The ones I remember most were the surprise reuniting of young couples who hadn't seen each other in a long time or even had no honeymoon because the guy was in the service and had to be shipped overseas. Looking back now, it HAD to be to Vietnam but I had no clue then what was going on in Vietnam.

heh heh, Judy, I do have a memory like a steel trap, you're right about that.

So glad to see you, my friend. :) I'll never forget your story of Bob and his pumpkin orange face. :p

I have a friend from high school who won a jeep on TPIR (she played Lucky 7) and she finally had to get a lawyer involved to get her jeep!

I wish Janice and Holly were still there- I don't care if they are getting older (aren't we all?) or rounder (aren't many of us rounder than we were when we were 21?) to me they WERE TPIR! Bob Barker isn't getting any younger but they don't can him!

Diane was a gold digger who was mad that she didn't get just what she wanted. No sympathy for her!

My dd loves sick days and snow days so she can watch TPIR just like when she was in Kindergarten and got out of school at 10:30.:)
