DVC does not sell a fixed week for the Tower Studios at Riviera and doubt they will for any new locations…
This is no longer the case. The Favorite Week chart has changed for Riviera. Same thing with VGF. Owners that purchased in 2022 didn't have access to the same options as prospective buyers today. It seems that the change of selling 150 point minimum contracts to 100 with VDH opened up Favorite Weeks between 100 and 150 points.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Riviera and the Tower rooms but no way would I want to stay in one for a whole week.
It's a nice way to stretch points but unless you're a park commando I think 4 days is the max I could do in a tower which I have booked for March so we'll see if I can even tolerate that :X

A week during many times of the year may be difficult. However, during F&W and MNSSHP very easy to be out of the room. At Polynesian, also easy to be at the pool, lobby, enjoying a beach swing, and so much more.

I had no idea they changed this. Had this been the case when I added on more RIV points (50 more) in 2022, I prob would’ve bought enough for a fixed week… darn

I understand! I inquired about a Favorite Week at VGF in March 2022 and it wasn't on the chart at that time, but it is now.

We toured one in June and honestly, I don’t think I could stay there with just me!!! I am glad that work for others!!

These were changed when DVD lowered the minimum to 100 points for new buyers.

So, earlier this year.

Why are you assuming that the Tower will be more popular? Because of more room options? Better features? Isn’t the location inferior for most purposes?

The View !!!!

An unobstructed, panoramic, beautiful view of the entire lagoon, including MK fireworks.
Especially from the upper floors.
Talking about Lagoon or Theme Park view rooms of course.

And unlike BLT, no parking lot in the way of the best views.

I agree, this building may have some of the (if not THE) best theme park views on property. I'm usually fine with a standard/resort view, but would honestly want to be on the lagoon side here.

And if it is rolled into PVB, what will be interesting is how they allocate points to those lagoon view rooms.

Current LV at Moorea are really nice from 3rd floor, right?

These would appear to have much better views so I’d imagine they would want to make them cost more points.

I wish they would at least announce the rooms that will be there so we could add something new to our discussion!

Maybe DVC will recategorize the top floor of the lagoon side of Moorea to theme park view and align the points with the new tower regardless of association? Seems like the tower will also need a pool view category in addition to standard and theme park unless the categories are standard, water, and theme park?

I agree we definitely need rooms types and artist renderings! Do you think some are being constructed at the preview center as we speak/type 🤔

I think attempting to adjust points with the original PVB rooms is going to be tough against what is there, especially for just one floor…and half of that to boot.

I don’t know if they can add a new view based on how they declared the rooms…some resorts don’t declare by view and some have..IIRC, Poly has rooms specifically designated that way.

I do not think they are updating the preview center as it seems that they run tours at all the resorts now anyway and I have seen them bring people right to both RIV and VGF to see the models set up at those locations.

Gotcha! I remember around 2016 SSR received the "preferred" room category, but maybe it was easier to group buildings there vs a portion of a floor of Moorea? I should go look for the condo drawing of Moorea.

That makes sense about the preview center, but it really has me wondering what is going on there?! I remember Riviera being an option on display, but it's no longer needed. I hope we don't have to wait for Poly tower to open to actually see rooms 😭

Some don’t believe they should have made the categories at SSR…but, since there was no designation from the start, I think it made it easier to do so…I’ll see what I can find in terms of the POS regarding views and if they can amend and add a third one.

This is another reason why making it new could help them…they can simply do what they want in how to set the points without having to tie in directly to PVB.
