The Poly2 Pricing Thread

Will Poly2 Be a Part of the Original Polynesian Condo Association?

Could they legally retro resale restrictions onto PVB? Make Poly 2 the same association but then from here on out any resale of a PVB contract gets restricted?

Only with a vote by current PVB owners. It would be a material change to the contract and thus can’t happen unless the owners decide they want it.

I can’t see that happening. DVD can’t unilaterally change it on their own.

I think right now Disney is so desperate for cash that they will keep this Poly2 a new association. This might be their last chance in a while to capitalize on a new standalone DVC, inflate the points chart, and elevate the price per point.
I would not think it's an issue either way. The current PVB studios are at the top of the charts and since there are no 1 or 2BR's nor GV's they can create the chart they wish for them. DVC has 2 places they can easily change the income. Points charts and price/pt. And neither is really focused on in the sales pitch - it's all about the cost/month when you finance. lol
I'd expect the charts are already set up to be quite similar to VGF just like the original PVB rooms were. Going too high isn't going to help sell and I think Disney will want it to sell.

I’m not assuming it will be more or less popular than the PVB studios, as I think there’s a niche for both. But I do think if you’re interested in the tower because you already like PVB and the vibe of the resort, and the tower points end up separate, that buying tower points would be the best way to stay at either (besides owning both).
Why? Managing 2 sets of points that can’t be combined would be a pain

Just watched DisneyStayInspired to enter VillasDL Sweeps (ya never know... :tink: ) & realized the DUO STUDIOS are available there... Has it been discussed here whether they could show up in the Tower?

I think a lot of us have an expectation that they will be part of the Poly Tower plans in some form. They (or rather Tower Studios) have proven popular at Riviera and early bookings at VDH show similar popularity.

Personally, I think it's unlikely that DVC has hit the WDW saturation point for demand of Duos with just RIV Tower Studios and they could drive sales by including them in Poly Tower.

more duo studios makes total sense, especially as point charts get higher and fewer people have kids. Before long, many more resorts might have them as more people make adults-only trip to Disney. I get it.

Does anyone know how much in advance Disney previously announced that VGF2 was part of the same association as VGF1 before sales?

Yep, its a nice medium when you care more about location and amenities rather than room size such as on a couples trip.

It was announced on day one. Disney said it was the same condo association in the original announcement about the expansion. This is my primary reason for thinking the tower is separate.
That’s what I thought but couldn’t remember. Disney probably realized the only people it benefits to announce it on day 1 are resale sellers because while they’re still doing construction the resale owners are able to swoop in and sell resale contracts that might’ve been able to be sold direct.

I’m suggesting owning Tower direct would be the way to go if they’re separate. We’re in the 7-month SAP window for March/Spring Break & Easter right now, and it looks like PVB is still fully bookable. IOW you can book PVB with points from other resorts.

Also, for those of us who prefer 1BR but likely won’t get them at VDH due to the small number of 1BR villas there, we’ll probably book a Duo instead of a Studio whenever we can. We’ll still have to get dressed and go out for breakfast, might as well save the points (not to mention the TOT$$).

The duos are pretty hard to get just like the towers it seems. I’m still trying to decide if its worth it as I’m yet to stay in a tower but we’ll see. I’m always a fan of having more options though and we’ll get to try it out this coming March and it’s nice to save the 20% in points. I like 1BRs, I just don’t like the point charts 😭.

Agree. If point spread for studios at Poly 2 (DUO vs DLX) is similar to RIV point chart, DUOs would be perfect for me. I'm retired & try to stay for as long as my points allow. I don't need Direct Sale but even resale will be a chunk of change...Maybe it's a good time to consider selling my Disney stock LOL...

Maybe a fixed week duo option? I would purchase that!

We have talked about fixed week duo studio, standard view, during F&W/MNSSHP but it may require buying during the first 1-2 months of tower sales. Duo studio and standard view should be lowest point rooms in the tower. Polynesian has great access to both MK for MNSSHP and TTC monorail to Epcot for F&W.
