I know a lot of people are angry or disappointed that LTT will no longer include characters but some advantages are:

-Easier to get an ADR now that less people are interested

-Less noise without children

-Less waits for tables to clear out = no more long waits for your table

-It is still a nice place to get a somewhat traditional meal and the Magic Kingdom

I really don't mind not having characters. There are other restaurants that have characters and plenty of places around the park.

I doubt there will be less children. We don't like the character meal we much prefer the lunch menu so I hope they also change the menu.

when are they getting rid of the characters and is the menu changing?:confused3

That's what I'm hoping for - - - a beefed up Lunch menu would be great. I still hope that they keep the salad and the rolls the same. But - I could do without the yucky turkey.

Maybe Stouffers is pulling out??? That would be so great!! :thumbsup2

Well some parents decide to dine here because of the character interaction but with that gone they would probably decide to dine in another restaurant, hence the reason I guessed less children. But who knows, I might be wrong.

I too am glad that the character meals will be gone here. I have wanted to try this place, but DH strongly dislikes the character meals. Half the kids excited and half are scared and crying. We are going to look forward to getting to try this one in the future.

I am glad Disney had the character meals because the serve a purpose. We did one when DD was 6 and she loved it.

Just saw this thread and looked on allears.net. Here's what they said:

Liberty Tree Tavern - Beginning January 5, 2009, the Magic Kingdom's Liberty Tree Tavern will no longer offer character dining. The last character dinner at the Tavern will be on January 4, 2009.

Don't know about the menu change.

Every single sit down dinner at the MK is a character meal except Tony's. Since dbf and I will only go to Tony's during lunchtime, and we do not prefer character meals, our choices were very limited.

Therefore I am glad about this upcoming change.

Nice positive look! :thumbsup2 Although I am disappointed in the change because I love seeing the characters in their colonial garb and we've had great interaction here, there are certainly many other meals with our favorites and maybe the change is for a really good reason. At least it's not closing for good or they're going to replace it! This is one of the most beautifully themed restaurants Disney has, in my opinion! ;)

im thrilled it will no longer be a character meal! :) we have outgrown them but love that restaurant! :)

I'm sure there are many positives, but the only thng I really worry about is that it seems when they lose character meals they necver come back limiting the characters. I'm thinking I miss when Olivias's had a character breakfast a few times per week, I miss whenteh WCC served a character breakfast, these and a few others were cut after 9/11 and they never returned. Seems to me this is just another cut to increase turn around time in the restaurants.
A great point about the lack of non character dining in the MK, but we just hop the monorail and a good number of non-character places are available to us. For us the kids don't care about it anymore, so I figure why pay the increase in charges for dining with characters if I don't have to.

I am very curious if anything regarding the menu and/or price will change with the removal of characters from the meal. While I thought the food was pretty good, it is extremely overpriced. Before you paid for the experience with the characters which justified the cost for us. But I will not pay the current price without the characters, the food is not worth it on it's own.

Thats what I would like to know, the reason we never ate here is because we do not like the menu choices...we love character meals but the food options are not our favorites

I thinking since everybody says it's crammed in there it will make it easier to get around without all the caracters.

You mean you don't think $30 is a good price for unlimited TV Dinners??? :rotfl:

I completely agree, qanita92.

I think this is a good change.

I noticed you are going to WDW in December 2009, so will I! When are you planning on going? Are you a DVC owner or are you renting points?

SORRY FOR BEING OFF TOPIC!
