Could anyone give me reviews and possibly pics of the Plaza Restaurant in MK? We decided to try it this year, but have never been there before. I debated whether it was worth using a TS credit (we are on the DDP), but we decided not having to fight crowds for lunch on the day after Thanksgiving might be worth it!:rotfl: Plus, the desserts look great!!!!

I remember a dinner there about 15 years ago and it was pretty good. We are going back for lunch in Oct...that tuna sandwich is calling my name!

The Plaza Restaurant is a "must do" for us on every trip! Their burgers and shakes are WONDERFUL!!!! If you have room for dessert - they are great too!!

We do it every year for lunch and we are on the dining plan...and don't care if you don't get as much "bang for your buck". We like it for the change of pace from all the heavy meals we eat on the dining plan. DH and I have had between us the reuben, grilled chicken sandwich, cheesburger and club sandwich--all delicious. You can get with german potato salad or french fries. The portions are HUGE...but we always leave enough room for one of their heavenly sundaes for dessert. :worship: :worship:

We really enjoyed lunch at the Plaza. It's small and relatively quiet compared to some of the other places. The food was great - sandwiches are huge and desserts are wonderful. It provided a nice break in the day.

Love, love, love the Plaza Club!

Plaza Club - smoked ham, turkey, bacon, lettuce, vine ripened tomato and mayonnaise layered on toasted multi-grain bread, and served with German potato salad

I also love the atmospere in there. I just love Main Street USA!

Food was good and fresh and hot. I had the Ruben and it was a bit smaller than other sandwiches I have had there in the past. Service was friendly though a bit slow..as if a couple people had called in sick. I like the place so will always go back. Finally got seated in the round part. :)

Fabulous place. We're going again this year. My kids had the burgers last year and I had the Reuben. Both excellent. The Victorian charm adds to the whole dining experience. A really really really good sandwich restaurant that everyone should try at least once. Wish I had pictures for you, I have every intention of taking a bazillion of them this year, so perhaps when I get back I can post a few. But definitely try the Plaza. You will not be disappointed.

Glad to hear all the good reviews. We are eating at the Plaza for the first time in January.

Thanks for all of the great reviews! I am really excited about trying the Plaza now!:goodvibes

I came on here to ask the same question - as I am going with My2Angels! I should have known she would beat me to it! LOL Looks good...I can't wait - I so need this vacation!

Another good experience at the Plaza here! We had DD11's birthday dinner there last year and it was so much fun. The food was so good, the atmosphere is really pleasant and they have a great waitstaff (at least in our experience). :thumbsup2

Another vote for the Plaza. We call this our "hidden gem" We ate there only because we couldn't get ADR's anywhere else during Free Dining last year and were soooo glad we did! I had the Strawberry chicken salad (yumm-o), DH had the club or the turkey and DD had PB&J. The desserts were great and the slow pace, no rush atmosphere is heavenly on a hot day. We are planning to go at least 2x on next years trip.

Enjoy-you will love it!

Love the Plaza! We walked in for lunch May '07, very little wait. Loved it! It was so pretty and the food was great. My Dh is picky and loved it! :goodvibes Go for it!

how is it for picky eaters. For instance if the chicken comes with mayo will they make it without mayo or are they all premade. It sounds good to me just want to figure out if everyone will eat there.

We love The Plaza too! They are very accomodating to picky eaters. My daughter (6 - so she orders off the kids' menu) wanted tomtao and lettuce on her turkey sandwich (it comes plain) and they were very happy to put it on for her. The mayo and ketchup come in little pots on the side - you put it on yourself. Everyone at our table ordered something different and it was all excellent!

I think the Plaza is one of the best restaurants to go to if you have a picky eater. The choices on the Childrens Menu are:

Grilled Chicken on a Stick

Junior Chef Salad

Two mini-hamburgers

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Turkey Sandwich

Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

My DH changes every sandwich he orders! Take off this and this, add that and that. It was no problem. Most of what they have are "build" sandwiches. So adding or subtracting something is easy. They only have one or two items on the menu that you might not be able to mess w/too much. Enjoy!:goodvibes
