The Plaza New York

I have. It was a good experience for me. There are two classes of rooms you can get there, one costing more pts than the other, and I had the cheaper of the two. The room faced another building, but other than that, there were no complaints. Check-in was very easy. The desk clerks obviously have experience dealing with people who use points to stay there.

So, you going to try to see Hugh Jackman in "The Boy From Oz" when you go? :D I think he's there until Sept. or something. While the play was nothing special, he was AMAZING!!! I gained a whole new respect for him as an actor. Check www.theatermania.com or www.playbill.com. Both of those sites offer discounts on theatre tickets, including for that play. Enjoy your trip!

We've stayed there twice on points. Both times we had a wonderful experience. I know that some people feel it's a waste of points to use them on hotels but this was definitely worth it. The rack rate for the room was almost $400 and since both times we were there over busy periods ( a Memorial Day weekend and the weekend between Christmas and New Year's) there were no "deals" available. The staff is exceptional. Have a wonderful time!

As a New Yorker I am interested in this too. After discovering you cannot change a reservation from AKL or other hotel back to a home away from home (beware!) I ended up with 50 points that would have expired. I was able to rent them to a lovely family and defray the loss but had I not, I was going to go to the Plaza for a night. See a play maybe then sleep in the City. With the $75 fee I didn't really want to. I had rooms there for my daughter's 16th birthday. One was an upgrade to a suite which was beautiful but one was so so. What kind of room do you get through DVC?
