The Pirates and the Frog (7/17 Welcome to the Next Adventure!)

Argh - the mission wasn't actually hard - just had a rough time tracking down that bonzai tree. :magnify:

Kaki Gori is very much like a snow cone - but ten times larger.
The 7 of us could barely finish 3 of them...

As for our next stop - reread the last paragraph from the segment and see if you recognize a lyric or two.
That might help you confirm whether or not your guess is accurate... ;)
Oh wow it's a really big snow cone then , will make note to split one or two between us then !

IMHO, Kaki Gori is WAY better than a snow cone!!! But yes- it is HUGE! I'm not sure why we didn't take any pics of it...
probably because we were a sticky mess from the drippy melty kaki Gori goodness!

All you DisMoms be warned: Red Kaki Gori stains do NOT wash out of clothing- not even with Oxiclean!
Oh, and your kids will have red lips, tongues, and fingertips for quite a while too!

EWW the Kaki Gori is sounding more yummy by the minute ! Thanks for the warning about the red I'm a stain fanatic and that would just drive me crazy lol

Oh oh! It’s my turn to write an update!!! YAY! :woohoo:

Well, after the long plane ride and all the time we had spent waiting in lines already, it was clear to me that what X needed most was time to “get his wiggles out!” :yay:
So, with Tramp following in his ECV, we decided to go exploring and we just let X take the lead.
He must have his Daddy’s Disney Genes because he knew exactly where he was heading: straight to the very back of Morocco- where I had never been before!

Did you know that there is an adorable little room at the back of one of the stores with an Aladdin book and a painting of Agrabah?
Disney2009Pirates098-0.jpg

Apparently, this is where the Jasmine Meet & Greet used to be held but it was moved out to a spot along the water that was easier to find (as you will see later).
X and I took a couple minutes to enjoy the quiet, shady spot and I even found a hidden Mickey in the painting. Can you find it???
Disney2009Pirates098-2.jpg

After that, X found a lovely little fountain with a beautiful tile mosaic on it.
He was just a few steps ahead of me but before I could get to him, he was trying to climb inside of it!
Of course, I am such a photo-addict that I handed the camera to Tramp and then lifted X up so we could get a pic of him splashing in the water!
Disney2009Pirates098-3.jpg

After that, X would not let us look in any of the stores or enjoy anything else in Morocco because he was on a mission.
Nope, not a Kim Possible mission. X was on a hunt to find more fountains!
Luckily, he got his wish and found a whole room full of mosaic tile work and an even bigger fountain!
This one was just right- low enough that I did not need to lift him up to see the water.
Disney2009Pirates098-4.jpg

So, X spent a few minutes splashing around and made a few wishes using pennies donated by Tramp!
In a matter of minutes, he was completely soaked! (Thankfully, it was a hot & sunny day so his clothes dried quickly).
Disney2009Pirates098-5.jpg

Then, a truly terrible thing happened: DH called me on my cell phone and I had to drag poor little X away from the fountains!!!
He was absolutely hysterical as we went to meet up with the rest of the family.
But never fear… X’s frown was turned upside down as soon as he saw Daddy’s Kaki Gori! :hyper:

By the way, since I put the Pirate spin on our Kim Possible mission this time around...
If anyone would like a more detailed description of the mission, check out my solo trip report (there's a link in my signature below).

For those who don't know me, last year we hit 4 of the 7 missions as a family.
So earlier in 2009, I previewed the final 3 missions when I was in Disney for a solo adventure.
So rather than repeat the pics and description here, I thought it'd be more fun to stay in character...

I found the Hidden Mickey :cool1:

X looks so cute playing in the fountain! Isn't it great how children can find fun in the simplest of things?! :goodvibes

Great updates! I love how you continue to stay in character. It's perfect.

X looks so cute trying to "drink" the fountain and princess's expression looking at the kimmunicator is priceless. She looks a tad perplexed - so cute!

Our little X was definitely drawn to the sea during this trip.
That was not the last time he'll make a splash...

Our Pirate Princess definitely took her mission seriously and that portrait shows it.
I think the opportunity to "beat" her brother to the treasure was definitely enticing.
And this time around (as opposed to last year), she was much more involved as Lady did not know the countryside as well as our Princess.

Great update Capell Mom :thumbsup2

 all of the pictures of X enjoying Morocco and the Fountains !!

I can only imagine his little screams when he had to leave the fountain , when there really into something there into it ! lol

Can't wait to read more about your adventures popcorn::popcorn::

Thanks for the kind words!
Now on with the adventure!!

As we wandered the coastline eating our grub (that Kaki Gori takes a while to eat), our Pirate Princess caught sight of some other royalty.
On the outskirts of Morocco, on the coast of Agrabah, a royal gathering was being held.
Of course Lady told our Pirate Princess that we could not pass up such an opportunity and immediately got in the royal receiving line.
Finally when it was our turn, our First Mate and Princess addressed the nobility.
The princesses exchanged stories about their kingdoms while the King of Thieves and our First Mate spoke of adventures past!

Then, they all posed for a portrait worthy of hanging back in the captain’s quarters of our ship.
Disney2009PiratesPass067.jpg

The little ones were excited to meet royalty on our trek and now were definitely on the look out for more congregations of the Disney family.
Before moving on, however, we heard melodious sounds coming from nearby.
The minstrels Mo’ Rockin’ had begun a set and we listened for a couple of minutes.
Disney2009Pirates101.jpg

And for those scallywags at home just waiting to pillage, here’s a shot of their fair siren:
Disney2009Pirates102.jpg

Leaving the African coastline behind, we travelled into Europe and into the heart of France.
There, beyond the garden maze, more royalty awaited us.
The Sleeping Beauty herself was holding court and our Pirate Princess was jumping up and down in anticipation.
We approached and realized Princess Aurora had no line and was simply waiting for our arrival.
The Pirate Princess proceeded to show her devotion - her current attire was adorned with pictures of Aurora (among other royalty).
Disney2009PiratesPass073.jpg

A royal pose was also a necessity.
Disney2009PiratesPass082.jpg

Finally the princesses bid each other adieu with a great big hug.
Disney2009PiratesPass084.jpg

Ah, but now it be time for some pillaging - there still be treasure to find!!
Grab a map and gather around - this time the treasure shall be ours!

Looks like your visit to Morrocco was fun! :)

The pictures of the pirate princess with Aurora are beautiful! :cutie:

Hi all! I know this is not really trip-report related but I just wanted to tell you about the lovely DISmeet lunch that DH and I enjoyed today! :goodvibes

This was a first for both of us and we were honestly not sure what to expect.
I mean...meeting a bunch of complete strangers for lunch might be great- but it could possibly be very awkward or completely bizarre.
Who knows? :confused3

Well, let me tell you, it was truly delightful! The DISfolks we met were so much fun-
it was like we were old friends in no time at all! :grouphug:

I have to say a BIG THANK YOU to All7OfUs (aka Liesa) for being the official "Social Secretary" and planning this event! :worship:

Also, I have to say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Boxmaster (known as "Unca" to my kids) for babysitting our 3 DISkids so that we could go to the DISmeet today!!! :thanks:

It was SO nice to have some adult conversations for a change! ::yes::
I definitely look forward to doing this again sometime VERY soon & meeting more of our pals from the DIS!!!

Hi there Capells !!! Going back to read all shortly!!!It was great meeting you yesterday !! We had a blast!!!!!

You are aware that a couple of FAMOUS Dissers have made this fountain famous !!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Now that the meetings were over, we could get down to business – pirate business.
You see when we left the Orient, our communicators informed us of more dealings here in France.
It seems the Pirate Lords of France had left clues to a treasure of their own.
And we aimed to find it here in the City of Lights!
Disney2009Pirates103.jpg

These corsairs were a curious bunch and left clues mixed with magics.
First, we had to find a little book display in the local spirits shop - Les Vins de France.
Definitely a place for a pirate to hide a clue!
Disney2009Pirates104.jpg

A button on our communicator activated a strange spell which pinpointed a certain book from this library.
And led us to our next clue – we needed to focus the power of the Eiffel Tower itself.
Standing off in a corner of the city, the Tower magically located us and sent a portrait through this communication device.
What will these sorcerers think of next?
Disney2009Pirates106.jpg

Then it was back through the streets of Paris as we scoured for a mystical gargoyle guarding some secrets.
When approached, it magically came alive and with a loud buzzing sound and stuck its tongue out!
These corsairs must be powerful sorcerers indeed if they can turn stone alive – albeit just for a few seconds.

Retreating back the coastline, we found a large contraption with a viewfinder of the Eiffel Tower and a suspicious box nearby.
Pressing the button activated a laser which bounced of the Tower and destroyed the remnants of the Pirate Lords themselves!
We were victorious! To us go the spoils!

Alas, once again, their treasure was not to be found.
The communicators suggested another mission elsewhere and we pocketed them while we decided.
We wandered back into the busy streets of Paris only to be attacked by a ferocious large white cat!
Fearless, the Pirate Princess jumped in front of us and wrestled the beast!
Disney2009Pirates109.jpg

And with that we retreated over the bridge to lands us pirates know well.
Stay tuned for the Battle of Port Royal!
