The Pirates and the Frog (7/17 Welcome to the Next Adventure!)

A second sphere apparently explodes into fire when evening falls…

How the heck did you get this picture?????? Please reveal the secret! :worship: did you take it yourself? Photoshop it? Scan it from another picture? I  it!

Love this TR, not only is your family adorable but the whole pirate theme is a hoot!

More Please! popcorn::

I am so glad that some of you out there in DISland actually appreciate all the ridiculous photos that DH insists on taking! I usually think he is being overly obsessive when he starts photographing trash cans and scanning in every pamphlet he gets from anywhere in The World! :confused3

As for my take on CBR, I absolutely agree that it is too spread out!
Not to give away too much ahead of time but I found it really annoying that we had to wait for the internal bus just to get to the pool and the food court.

Still, the Pirate rooms were way cool and a pretty good size (compared to where we usually stay at Pop).
I am definitely glad we did it this once and I would consider it again for a short stay but for a longer vacation, the "upcharge" really starts to add up!

Also, it's worth noting that Disney only allows 4 guests in each of the Pirate rooms.
We were able to get away with 5 because X was still small enough to stay in a pack & play.
So this was our last chance to try out the rooms before X got too big!

Yes, I do quite appreciate all those pictures and pamphlets ! Are you so glad he hasn't been doing all that work for nothing ? lol

Glad someone else feels the same way as I do about the CBR ! It's nice to see you used the bus to get to the Olde Port Royal & The Pool , we would walk every-time . Don't remember what building we were in but in was near the check-in so it was on the whole opposite side from the pool & food . We were even pretty far from the section pool and laundry :(

I learned on my solo tour that one should always be on the lookout for details. :magnify:
And I had never seen those portraits before so I figured they would be a nice addition to my collection.

Yes, quite the nice addition to your collection ! :goodvibes

Nice update :thumbsup2

Thanks Capell Mom for clearing up the Boxmaster Mom mysterty ! lol I was quite confused , thought it was a dismeet at first . It's great to meet up with good friends from home on your trips , looks like you all had a great time !

 the photo pass magic shots , hoping to get the balloon one on our trip

The Food & Wine decorations are very pretty , never have taken real notice to them until now .

Can't wait to read more popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

'Tis a portrait I took in "Guest Relations" of one of their hanging displays.
It came out pretty good though, eh?
And I be glad that you like our way of life! Yo HO! pirate:

I thought ye mateys may need some of that documentation for your own plundering adventures!
The fair maiden just doesn't understand such things.

We'll talk and explore more of the Caribbean later on so stay tuned for that.

As for those sorcerers putting their magic on our portraits :wizard:, they definitely make the treasures you take home more fun!

I love the update! Great magic shots! But I must ask, did someone wake little X up? He does not look too happy to be having his picture taken :goodvibes

How wonderful that your trip overlapped with the extended family! More people means more fun! :)

Most of the portraits had sun in the kids' eyes and all of the youngsters are all pretty light sensitive.
That might explain some of the odd expressions.
You should see the ones I did not include!!

More pirates definitely equals more fun!

These fine sorcerers should not be left alone so I quickly interrupted him and asked him to capture Boxmaster’s Mom.
While weary of the spells this stranger might put on her, Boxmaster's Mom reluctantly agreed:
[Author's Note: we need a better nickname for her...]
Disney2009PiratesPass045.jpg

Well, come to think of it (despite your having asked a few days ago), there's one that would be appropriate, I think. And will possibly set up the stage for the next pirate you'll be introducing soon, if you want to continue the logic.

My mom's favorite Disney movie is Lady & The Tramp. Seems reasonable to use "Lady" rather than "Boxmaster's mom" as the DIS nickname. :cutie:

It turned out great! I couldn't tell if you took it yourself and photoshopped the crap out of it, cause it looks so surreal yet so awesome. What a great idea!

That they do , we were able to get the Soarin shot , Tinkerbell and Stitch last trip hope to do more this time !

It's actually untouched (other than cropping out the frame).
Just a picture of their picture.
Glad you like it!
The maiden thought I was insane for taking those...

I'm good with calling her Lady but I think I need permission from your dad for the nickname that would leave him with... :rotfl:

OH NO!!! There you boys go causing trouble again!!! We can't call him THAT! :stitch2:

Why not let Boxmaster's Mom & Dad choose their own DisNames???

Oh, yes indeed, we can call him Tramp. :goodvibes And don't you think it fits, anyway? :lmao: (I know, you'll never answer that one -- at least publicly. :rotfl2:)

So no one will be too upset with me, or with Mike for going along with the suggestion, my mom happened to call me tonight as I was talking with Mike (there's no icon for ears, or Mickey ears, burning, is there? :confused3 :rotfl:). Switching calls to her, I asked her what she thought of the nicknames. She definitely likes Lady for herself, and was cracking up at the thought of calling my dad Tramp. She even thinks that he'd like it. :woohoo:

So, I guess it's officially sanctioned: Lady and Tramp it is. :cool1:

We actually have lots more of that "magic" to come so be on the lookout for those khaki-clad sorcerers!! :wizard:

That I will do :thumbsup2

I was actually looking at the listing of PP magic shots this afternoon and I think I will print out a copy for our trip !

By hook or by crook, that's what we'll call 'em then!

Aye - a map to guide you is always a smart move!
Now onward to adventure!

With some grub in our bellies, we pushed onward to adventure!
We stayed along the coast as directed looking for a sign.
Our cohorts had been given a secret message for a special mission.
I had instructed Lady and the Tramp to pick up this message earlier in the day while awaiting our arrival.
Lady led the way as the Pirate Princess, the First Mate, and I followed behind.
The Maiden and X stayed to protect the Tramp who was being helped by a strange vehicle.
But that tale is for the Maiden to tell.
[Author’s Note: Boxmaster’s Dad was using an ECV this trip.]

Our adventure would soon take us across the globe.
Along the way, we stopped for a portrait nicely framing that gigantic sphere between this here Torii of the Orient.
Disney2009Pirates086.jpg

Then, somewhere near the piazzas of Italy, we found what we were in search of – KP marked the spot!
Disney2009Pirates087.jpg

A peasant dressed in purple and yellow gave us two communication devices.
Voices from the device then directed us back to the Orient.
Twas a hunt tasked to us by the Pirates Lords of the Orient! pirate:

We split up into smaller groups so we could find the treasure faster.
The First Mate and I headed in one direction:
Disney2009Pirates088.jpg

While Lady and the Princess went the opposite way.
Disney2009Pirates089.jpg

The mission had us scouring the Orient in search of clues.
At one point, the First Mate and I even threw up our hands as we could not locate the special bonsai tree.
Finally, after probably walking past it several times, we found it a corner I’ve never been to before.
Next, we had to receive magical signals within the Zen rock garden.
These Oriental Pirate Lords sure did make finding their hidden treasure difficult!

From time to time, we even passed our crewmates as both teams were intent to “beat” the others.
Drums provided a soundtrack to our adventure as these landlubbers even tried to throw us off course!
Disney2009Pirates092.jpg

We pressed on but ran into some difficulty when a third drummer arrived making the sound deafening as we stood behind them trying to locate the next landmark.
Disney2009Pirates095.jpg

Despite the efforts of the drummers, the First Mate and I were able to decipher the code and re-establish the balance of the elements.
There must’ve been some voodoo at work here to knock nature off course so badly.
Disney2009Pirates093.jpg

Soon enough, within the Japanese marketplace we found the culprit – a steel machine bent on total destruction!!
We subdued it mere moments before Lady and the Princess arrived to do the same!

To our dismay, the Oriental Pirate Lords did not leave a treasure behind.
Instead this wench on our communicator thanked us for saving the world.
By now, the Maiden had arrived with X and the Tramp.
Placing the magical devices into our pockets, we decided the heat had paid its toll on us and we tried a Japanese delicacy – Kaki Gori.
This frozen concoction was worthwhile but, alas, we were still in search of riches.

So the entire crew headed back to the African coastline with our eyes peeled.
And now who do you think us riff rats, street rats, scoundrels, vandals, and thieves found?
A former thief now with a new crew - a rich crew.
Hmmmm - this may just work to our advantage after all...

Nice update Mike :thumbsup2

Looks like that Kim Possible mission is a little bit harder than the others :confused3

How nice of Lady and Tramp to spend the day with you all

Kaki Gori sounds like a cool treat never had one myself , are they like a snow cone ?

Can't wait to see where your off to next popcorn::popcorn:: , is it Morocco ?

Argh - the mission wasn't actually hard - just had a rough time tracking down that bonzai tree. :magnify:

Kaki Gori is very much like a snow cone - but ten times larger.
The 7 of us could barely finish 3 of them...

As for our next stop - reread the last paragraph from the segment and see if you recognize a lyric or two.
That might help you confirm whether or not your guess is accurate... ;)

Nice update! You know we love KP and a Kaki Gori is a good reward for saving the world even if it isn't a treasure chest full of gold :)

Did you see Aladdin next? popcorn::

IMHO, Kaki Gori is WAY better than a snow cone!!! But yes- it is HUGE! I'm not sure why we didn't take any pics of it...
probably because we were a sticky mess from the drippy melty kaki Gori goodness!

All you DisMoms be warned: Red Kaki Gori stains do NOT wash out of clothing- not even with Oxiclean!
Oh, and your kids will have red lips, tongues, and fingertips for quite a while too!
