The Pirates and the Frog (7/17 Welcome to the Next Adventure!)

Nice update! Looks like you all had fun at Mickey's breakfast :)

I love the princess's outfit in these pictures! She looks adorable! :cutie:

We love Chef Mickey's for breakfast!
It's always alot of fun and the kids have a blast.
We don't tend to eat as much though as we're too busy frollicking with the characters.

As for the outfit, I defer to Mom on that one.
She is the Official Wardrobe Designer of the Capell Vacations.

You DID shave! And you lost the pirate speak! Wow - big changes!

I love all your pictures of the kids - your daughter's outfit is adorable and the family pictures are great! Even X seems to be warming up to the characters!

Lovely update!

Yeah, Mom made me shave - you'll see why shortly.
And I liked the pirate speak - it was a fun new way to look at the parks. pirate:

Your photos are wonderful. I'm sure your kids will appreciate your ability to document the great family memories.

Thanks for the kind words.
I hope they love our stories later too.
Either that or they'll just think we're crazy... ;)

After breakfast, we grabbed Monorail Green and rode the Highway in the Sky to the Magic Kingdom.
The fall Halloween decorations were still up but the entrance was not too crowded outside the gates so we snapped some Photopass shots.
Too bad the sun was in the kids’ eyes:

Afterwards I tried one of my own:

Inside the park, Mom and I found another Photopass photographer and got some romantic castle shots:

And then DS and I tried to be “Partners”:
Disney2009PiratesPass528.jpg

By now, Move It, Shake it, Celebrate It! was in full swing so we “followed” it to the hub and broke off towards Tomorrowland.
Mom decided to head to Stitch’s Great Escape with DD and DS while I hung out with X.
I know most people frown on this attraction but we actually like it – it’s basically little boy humor and little boys get a kick out of it.
Take it for what it is and you won’t be disappointed.
Mom didn’t think much of it but the kids enjoyed it as usual.

X and I headed to Buzz and got fastpasses for later.
Then we went to the TTA but it was down unfortunately.
So, the next best thing – we went exploring!!

Little known fact: Stitch’s Great Escape rotates the exit.
One show will let out into Mickey’s Star Traders and the next will exit into Merchant of Venus.
So, X and I “shop-hopped” waiting for the rest of the family.
In the process however, we found some really cool details!

First stop was the Merchant of Venus.
I decided to dress up X to surprise Mom.

Disney2009Pirates0973.jpg

While we waited, I snapped away at my favorite part of this shop - the ceiling.
If you look up near the exit of the attraction, you’ll find these:
Disney2009Pirates0974.jpg

And they lead to none other than…
Disney2009Pirates0975.jpg

It’s a great continuation of the ride or even a “post-show.”
The crowd exited and no Capells.
So, it was off to Mickey’s Star Traders!
There, X found something big, blue, and fluffy right away.
“I LIKE FLUFFY!!!!!”
Disney2009Pirates0976.jpg

Disney2009Pirates0977.jpg

Stitch was basically the same size as X.
How cute is that!?!?!

With some time on our hands, we explored a bit.
I love watching the TTA ride by in here and that drew my eyes to the murals high above.
There in the paintings is Captain Gantu’s ship.
And if you look closely, parked below is the one Stitch steals in the movie.
“He took the red one.”
Disney2009Pirates0978.jpg

On the other side of the store is Stitch himself flying over a futuristic bullet train of sorts.
There's also some Hidden Mickeys in there if you look around.
Disney2009Pirates0979.jpg

In fact there's a ton of Hidden Mickeys in the murals here but I didn't get a chance to grab pics of all of them.
Something for next time I guess!

The murals so reflect a bustling Tomorrowland out there though.
Speaking of bustling, the doors opened and the crowd spilled out of the attraction.
Still no Capells so we headed back over to the Merchant of Venus.
This time, we checked out the walls in this shop.
If you look closely, you might even find some familiar faces in futuristic vehicles:

Disney2009Pirates0984.jpg

But the more fun was the mural behind the cash register.
Doubling as a “window into Tomorrowland” you can see all of Stitch’s cousins running around and enjoying themselves.

Disney2009Pirates0986.jpg

A cast member saw us looking and told us to find Stitch.
After searching all over, X finally discovered the little menace.
Can you find him?
Disney2009Pirates0988.jpg

X really enjoyed this way to pass the time.
We had so much fun, the CM even took our picture!
Disney2009Pirates0987.jpg

Then the doors opened once again and we were finally reunited with our ‘ohana!
Remember, “nobody gets left behind.”
So, it was about 11:40 or so and we had someplace to be at 12:00 – a surprise in fact!
After all, I promised I would get to the Frog part of this TR sooner or later.
Now, the only question is whether or not I should start talking like a frog to tell the next part…
You’ll have to come back to find out!

X with the giant Stitch is adorable :)

Of all the "lands" in the MK we probably spend the least amount of time in Tomorrowland so I didn't realize all the theming in the store. (I have seen Stitch on the ceiling) I need to pay more attention in May! Thanks for sharing:)

Subbing extremely late to the game! My little guy happened to click on your report and I got hooked. I have to go provide food for the kids (ugh...why do they have to do stuff like eat?) and then I'll be back to read later! ;)

I enjoyed seeing the Chef Mickey's pictures this morning. Just think, a lot of lucky families are having all that fun this very morning. :cool1: You got some sweet pictures of the kids, as well as some great all family pictures. Chef Mickey's is a classic. ::yes::

I had no idea all those murals existed. Very cool pix. Glad you posted them because I love details.

And X and Stitch make a great pair!

There's alot of fun detail in Tomorrowland - most of it centering on the idea that it's essentially a bustling spaceport.
Everything from the metal palms to Pleakley (sp?) carrying his suitcase en route to some ship.
That's why I love just a relaxing trip on the TTA to check out all the nooks and crannies!

Welcome aboard!
And it's never too late!
Glad your little guy found us and can't wait to hear what you think of the rest!

Now I'm jealous of imaginary people...

Oh, please, Mike. The kids already KNOW that you guys are crazy! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: (I know: Pot, meet Kettle.)

Yeah, but now they'll have documented proof...

And X and Stitch make a great pair!

Take a look next time.
There's actually more murals and lots of Hidden Mickeys in them.
I didn't get a chance to get all of them last time.
I'll have to try to get them next time...

I must be getting close to a Disney trip, because I was tearing up and sniffling when you all appeared in your costumes! Your daughter needs to get into acting, because her faces were GREAT! It's hard to believe she was only 5! After two days of reading snippets during my breaks and commute, I am all caught up!

Wow, nice job catching up and glad you're with us!
We did have a blast in our costumes - it was so much fun.
Hopefully we'll do a Disney Cruise soon and break them back out for the Pirate Night.
As for my daughter, she is definitely the drama queen of the family so acting may be right up her alley. :)

Awesome pix of Chef Mickey's !!Have to admit I like the Shaven you and the Non Pirate update:rotfl2:We have supper ressies at CM this August!

From the Land of Tomorrow, we were headed back to the Square of Liberty.
It’s funny – in all of our Disney World trips, we’ve barely ever been to Liberty Square.
This trip, however – it seemed like we were there all the time!
But first, we cut through the hub and snapped some remaining Halloween details:
Disney2009Pirates0989.jpg

Disney2009Pirates0990.jpg

Then we took the bridge back over to Liberty Square.
Disney2009Pirates0991.jpg

It’s a neat view from this angle.
Disney2009Pirates0993.jpg

The kids lobbied for a snack and demanded a new favorite.
No, not the Dole Whip – they wanted another Liberty Swirl.
So we stopped at Sleepy Hollow, got one for the road, and headed out.

I led the way into areas unknown – heading towards the Mountains of Frontierland.
Since I’m not a rollercoaster guy, I’ve never actually been over here before.
So when we got to the Splash Mountain bridge, this was new territory.
However, I had heard from the DIS that this was the best spot to be.
So we grabbed a place on the railing and settled in.
DD quickly went to the Splash side to watch the boats.
Disney2009Pirates0994.jpg

Disney2009Pirates0995.jpg

But the rest of us were watching the Rivers of America.
See, this was 2009, and the Frogs were about to make their debut.
We were waiting for Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee – a short-lived show to promote the up-and-coming movie, The Princess and the Frog.
The movie was due out at the end of November so this was to be a fun preview of the music.
A CM wandered by as more families took their spots and offered us several more of the free movie tickets:
PrincessFrogAdmission.jpg

And then, at 12:00, we heard the music in the distance.
And the Liberty Belle, now decked out in purple and yellow, was the destination for a parade through Liberty Square.
A dancing, singing parade let by Tiana, Naveen, and an overgrown alligator.
Sure enough, the DIS was right :thumbsup2, and we had the best seats in the house!
Once everyone was loaded, the Liberty Belle took off from the docks as the cast sang “Gonna Take You There.”
Check out the pictures…
