Cast - me, 40(ish) 6th trip to The Magic
DD, 8, 6th trip along with me
Wednesday 13th May
We packed up, got organised, had breakfast, and checked out of our lovely room by 9 this morning. Again we were in the park (via Salon Mickey) just after 9.45. At ropedrop we went to the carousel, then had a change of routine, and went to get fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain. We had time for a ride on Pirates before our fastpass time arrived though. Back at BTM, we waited for around 10 minutes in the fastpass queue, then on we went. I've never got DD onto this ride before, and she loved the whole of the ride on the island, but wasn't keen at all on the tunnel getting there and coming back
. Once we were off BTM, we wandered to the back of Frontierland, where we saw Prince John, Friar Tuck and Rafiki near the Cowboy Cookout, and this little family near Woodys Roundup -
It was baking hot by around 11am today, I was glad I had the chance to use the suncream we'd brought with us
. We wandered from Frontierland to Fantasyland, passing Cinderella and Prince Charming on the Princess stage, and got to see Belle and her Prince just about to exchange with them. The CM with them was very good, explaining that they needed to get to the stage, and to join the queue for photos etc with everyone else. They did stop for one young man who was disabled, it was lovely to see the interaction they had with him
.
Near the turrets we came across another load of characters, Goofy, Tigger, Captain Hook, Penguin, Gepetto, Suzy and Perla. Most of them were pretty mobbed though - Captain Hook was getting backed into a corner near the toilets by lots of little Princesses when we saw him
.
We got fastpass for PP, then rode IASW. We sat and enjoyed the sun in Fantasyland for a little while, then at noon we joined the fastpass line (yes, there was a line - first time in 4 days
) for PP. We had a lunch reservation in the Studios today, so thats where we made for next.
Restaurant des Stars was wonderful
. Excellent food, excellent choice, and all cooked to perfection. Its a lovely restaurant too, airy and cool. And the icing on the cake, this little fella and his chef friend -
We were completely stuffed full when we left there, so a slow stroll back to the park, and onto Buzz with only a 10-minute wait. Then guess where? Yup, Pirates
. All that lunch food was beginning to catch up with me by this time, so DD ran off to do the Robinson Tree House while I waited for her at the exit. She was soon out, and we were now into the last couple of hours of our trip
. We tried for another PP fastpass, but at 3.30 it was for 5.30, and that was too late for us. I grabbed a much-needed coffee and we parked ourselves at the turrets for the OUAD parade.
Then, when the parade had passed us, we wandered down the arcade at the left of Main St, and saw it all again at the end of the route (this is also becoming a bit of a tradition for us
)
We just had time for a little last-minute shopping on Main St, picked up our luggage, and off we went to the train station and the beginning of our journey home. We got to CDG on time, and despite a spectacular thunderstorm right overhead for half an hour, we left on time, and landed at East Mids on time too.
DD cried as we left the park gates for the last time, I don't blame her, it really was a great trip
.
Yet again, before we went, I said this would be the only trip this year. Who am I kidding
???
