The Ph'D's at BCV Jan 3rd to 10th 2007

This kind of thing drives me crazy. Un-Disney behavior is expected in the rest of the world (except at American Girl Place and Nordstrom), but at Epcot it would get right under my skin. Hopefully you met a sunny CM shortly after this to act as an antidote!

Wow -- what a great memory of Lily counting the steps going up and down Swiss Family Robintree. You will remember that every time you go back! :)

Sounds like a fantastic trip. Pictures are great, as usual.

A Scrapbooker's Guide to Walt Disney World

I don't know how I missed your post! Glad you enjoyed it. We did find a sunny cast member just a few pavilions away. Of course then Anna didn't want a new one, even when it was ripped!

Since coming home Lily has become obsessed with the video tape we took of the trip. She watches it a few times a day.

We watched the Cruise planning DVD tonight. The girls are getting pretty geeked about it.

Hope you are doing good.

Thanks for reading everyone.

Thank goodness for double strollers that recline. We had a lovely walk back to our room.
I'm really enjoying your TR!

Would you mind me asking what kind of double stroller you have? It's difficult to find reclining ones and we're currently in the market for one.
THANKS! :goodvibes

It is a peg pergo aria twin. You can see it on the 2nd page picture of them sleeping. We bought it just for WDW. It is pretty light and folds down well (I think 14lb and is much smaller then a big double stroller). The basket underneath isn't that helpful, but it works fine. It has served us well for 4 trips to WDW, and many more to other places, malls, zoo and around town. The biggest complaint is the shade isn't too good. We normally bring an extra blanket and put it over kids who nap during day light hours. It pushes well with only one child in it, or different size kids. As DD gets older it can get hard to manage sometimes (she is 5 years old, but less then 40 lbs.) Still now I make her get out during tight spots now if she is awake.

It does recline well and is very easy to manage and push. Our 1st trip we didn't see any other of this stroller there. Since then we see them all over the place. The girls are always very comfortable in it. It has trays that come off, but it can hold some food and a cup holder for adults (but could stand to have 2 instead of 1.) Ours is a 2004 model so it getting old. We have gotten our $300 out of it many times over though, with just WDW trips alone it has paid for itself instead of renting.

The downside with a newborn is a car seat carrier does not fit in it. That was hard around town when DD was a baby. No big deal after 6 months or so though.

Glad you enjoyed the trip report. DH and I back just the 2 of us in 2 weeks from Monday. It will seem strange not to have a stroller (not to mention not having the kids  )

Thanks so much for the info. We'll be going back this December and think we'll take two separate strollers for this one trip - one for DD2 and the other for the baby who will be about 5 months at that time. We have a Peg Perego P3 that we like and then we'll take our Graco system for the baby. We took DD when she was 5mo and the travel system was really the best thing at that age. After that, the P3 was great and we love the recline feature.

It must be a thing with Peg Perego, though...the basket is so small and storage so limited.

We'll definitely have to look into the Aria twin for our May 08 trip. THANKS!

Oh, and enjoy your solo trip! I don't even remember what it was like to travel without all that gear! :) You'll have a great time with DH -- especially being able to once again go on thrill rides together!

I really want a P3, but DH vetoed me buying yet another stroller. If I could buy a new single one now that is what I would do (and the bar on the back for the older kid to stand on is nice for short distances too.)

We are really looking forward to the trip. Just being able to ride a ride like EE together will be great! We are doing a keys to the Kingdom tour and eating at some WS places we have never ate at before too. We are staying at BWV so it we hope to spend most of our time at WS, but plan to hit each park at least once to do the things we never get to do together.

If I can just relax about leaving the kids I would be super excited about it. As it is now I am doing well during the day, but every night before I go to sleep I start to panic and feel like calling the whole thing off. I feel much better the next day. :confused3

Don't let it bother you. They'll be with family, right? Just keep reminding yourself that your family won't let anything happen to them! And keep reminding yourself of all of the fun you and your husband will have! It will all work out!

Thanks, I know it will.

I am starting to relax about it, but now Lily is sick. We ended up at the hospital getting a chest x ray for her today. It was clear but her cough is really bad. If it doesn't get better, or gets worse we are going to have to take her back, but for not there is nothing they can do. She should be better by 2 weeks. I hope we aren't sick by then though. She is sleeping right now with out coughing, so that is good.

Exactly! As long as you are leaving them with someone you really trust, you'll be fine overall. I'm sure you'll have your moments but the time will go by so quickly and you and your husband will have so much fun together!

:goodvibes

It's time to start a pre-trip report! Are you packed?

Hope Lily is all better now. That was good timing with her bug -- she should be healthy for March!

Thanks she is now, but now Anna is running a fever for the past 2 days (she is fine when on meds) and I am not feeling so great. Still we have 10 days, so I feel things should clear up by then. If not we will all drag our butts back to the Dr. on Monday. I hear we should be having a winter storm here then too.

I am so going to need this break by time March 5th comes.

Well, this is kind of pre trip report.

We are doing better around here, at least Anna's fever has been down since Wednesday and most of us are in ok health (at least enough to go.) Still a big of cough and congestion, but I think it is just lingering.

So tomorrow night the girls go to my SIL and BIL and we leave really early Monday morning. 3 nights at BWV just the 2 of us. Tuesday we are doing the keys to the Kingdom tours. Wednesday most likely hit AK and MGM to do the rides we never get to do together (EE, TT, RR, even star tours since DD won't ride it.)

The weather is forecasted to be cool, but we are packing for it. I could really use some heat about now so I hope it warms up. At least some sunshine. I could really use to make some serious vitamin D.

See you all when we get back!

Have a fun and safe trip! Don't worry, your girls will be in safe hands while you and your husband have some well-deserved alone time.

Can't wait for your TR, but that doesn't mean I want your trip to go by too quickly!

HAVE FUN!!!

The time has come!!! :woohoo:

First of all, I hope you have a safe trip, but also have FUN, FUN, FUN!!! :goodvibes

Hope you get some sunny rays and warm breezes!

Have fun!

We are back! We had a great time and almost everything went really well. The weather was great, we had good luck with things like room locations, transportation and busses, no too bad waits or crowds.

We missed the kids so much, but we had a great time with out them. :cool1:

They got lots of souvenirs.

The only down side was both DH and I terrible sinus infections. We just got back from the doctor and have the necessary antibiotics now so things will get better.

Full trip report coming. :thumbsup2

Glad you had a fun time despite the sinus infections, that's no fun! Can't wait to read the TR! Feel better!

Sorry to hear about the sinus infection. I'm suffering from one right now (and can't take a thing for it! :sad1:) I hope you and the Mr. feel better soon! :goodvibes

Will you be starting a new thread for this TR or continuing on this one? I don't want to miss it! :cheer2:

I am going to start a new thread when I get to writing it. I am trying to piece it together. I want this one to be good, after all I had time to think about it when it was happening. I will post a link to it here though.

CRSNDSNY, maybe it is pregnancy congestion. I remember having that a lot. The worst was not being able to take much for it. I remember I could take Claritin D though (and both girls seem to be fine now ;) )

I feel worse tonight. I think a week of being sick but not letting it get to me is catching up. Still this weekend is a rest and get better one, so by Monday things should be better (except for the whole loss an hour thing, that is going to suck.)

I wish I could...I'm on twice daily injections of Lovenox (blood thinner) and twice daily Aldomet (blood pressure). I'm one of those super fun high risk pregnancies....:guilty:
I'll get through it, though!

:woohoo: Off to read your TR! Thanks for taking the time to post it..can't wait to read it! :cloud9:
