Sadly, we have returned from our trip to Disney. Everything went fairly well too. We had a great time and can't wait to go back next December. It was way more crowded than I anticipated. Almost as crowded as it was when we went in June. The heat was intense too along with the humidity. It was a very hot and sweaty vacation.
Day 1 - Oct. 10th Checked into the Poly and were surprisingly upgraded to Consierge Level. We were in the Hawaii building with a view of the castle. That hotel is absolutely beautiful. We will probably be staying there again for the next trip. The kids loved the pool and the staff was very friendly. W
We headed over to the MK just in time to see the afternoon parade. Headed to Toontown and it was swarming with people. Didn't do much in Toontown because of the crowds. We had dinner at 1900 Park Fare and that was delicious! The Stepsisters and Lady Tremaine were wonderful and Prince Charming was quite a hottie. After dinner we let our very tired kids swim and put them to bed early.
Day 2 - Oct. 11th Arrived at Animal Kingdom around 11:00 am. There were a bunch of characters at the gate for pictures and autographs with short lines. I think my kids were able to see all 5 characters in less than 20 minutes. Got fastpasses for Expedition Everest and headed over to Dinosaur for a short 20 minute wait. What a great ride that was! After Dinosaur hiked over to the Safari to get fastpasses for that. Ate some lunch and rode Everest. We love that ride but the huge Yeti was missing. After Everest we went on the Safari. Alot of the animals were out of sight but some were really in plain sight. There was a baby giraffe right at our vehical trying to stick his head in. We coulldn't move until he did so we sat for a while. Then a white Rhino was walkikng right along side our vehicle too. Great animal pictures. We went to Camp Minnie and Mickey and seen the fab 5 in about 30 minutes. That was great. Had 6pm reservations at the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner so we headed to MK. We waited over an hour for a table, but the food and characters were great so I think it was worth the wait. The MK was packed so we just headed back to the hotel.
Day 3 - Oct. 12th Arrived at Hollywood Studio aroun 11:00 am and headed right to Toy Story Mania. Couldn't get fastpasses because they were already at the return time of 6:00 and we had dinner elseware at 5:30. This park was packed. The new parade the Block Party Bash is fabulous. It is about 30 minutes of high energy action. They sing and dance in the street. We rode Rockin Rollercoaster and Star Tours and seen the Muppet Show. That was about all we could do there because of the crowds. We walked from Hollywood Studios to Epcot for dinner at LeCelier. Yummy Yummy Yummy. After dinner we booked over to the MK for the SpectroMagic. Again the MK was packed. We were able to squeeze in a few rides there before it closed.
Day 4 - Oct 13th Our day of rest. We swam at the hotel pool all day before we headed to MNSSHP. The party was great. They really do a good job transforming the place into the Halloween mode. They Castmembers are in costume, really great costumes. The fireworks were wonderful. Only downfall was it was really really crowded. I don't know how many tickets they sell for each party but it was just as crowded as the park was during the day.
Day 5 - Oct. 14 We were in Epcot all day starting with the Princess Breakfast in Norway. It was pretty good, expensive but good. Epcot was probably the least crowded park of our entire trip. We rode some rides and ate dinner at the Coral Reef which was yummy too. Watched Illuminations and headed back to the hotel.
Day 6 - Oct 15 Our last day. We did the resort photo session at the Poly. Turned out really good and was worth the $$ spent for it. We went all around the grounds. Our photographer was good and she took 82 photos of us. I got the cd and also the photopass card she used so I can go on the website and edit my photos. THey supposely stopped allowing that in September, but I am thinking maybe people complained about upping the price so much and taking away the photopass feature.
Anyways great trip, we can't wait to go back. Really really hot and muggy too along with heavy crowds but it's Disney so it was all good.
