The "other" view point.. Thanksgiving Dinner..

Mashed potatoes-i dont even make them when im hosting T-day-and pumkin pie-blech.

Like alot of others, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and stuffing. But I have no problem making them when it's my turn to cook.

I really don't like pumpkin pie. As a kid, my mom always made sweet potato pie and I didn't mind it. Everyone says they taste the same--they don't. Not to insult my Thanksgiving hosts, but it has been years since I've been fed decent turkey. Love the family, but they petrify that poor bird. :lmao:

I've never eaten a green bean casserole.

Green bean casserole. I don't like green beans and slathering them in goopy creamed soup doesn't make them better.

If I had my way, I'd just eat turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, LeSeour peas and deviled eggs. Oh, also pecan pie for dessert. None of that pumpkin stuff either please!

It's kind of comical that so many people here have said "green bean casserole" and yet so many people out there in RL feel it's a "must".. LOL.. DD's MIL makes it every year too and no one eats it - not even her DH who loves green beans and would eat them cold right out of the can..:rotfl:

Stuffed shells and ham. Yecch. They just don't belong at Thanksgiving. Turkey and stuffing is where it's at for me! No, no, no to the ham! And sorry, but red pasta sauce belongs nowhere near my mashed potatoes. Yecch! Pasta isn't my bag to begin with, and messing up my Thanksgiving meal just makes it worse for me! I will politely decline the pasta ... I will politely decline the pasta ... yes, politely ...

turkey- ewww We stopped having it last year. LOL We're weird I know!!! We have rotisserie chicken or a pork loin instead.

I've seen nothing on this thread, so far, that I don't like. I guess I'm easy to please. One thing I do not like is giblets!

Green Bean Casserole

Sweet Potatoes with anything on them. I love them plain but not with cinnamon or marshmallows or anything else.

I like my sweet potatoes plain not with all the junk on them. Please keep the marshmellows away from my sweet potatoes.

I love all the savoury stuff mentioned so far...even parsnips ;)

Add me to the anti-pumpkin pie list, though...I just don't enjoy it (even though I love the smell of the spices in it). I much prefer apple or pecan (and since I make the pies now...guess what we have!)

I have not read all of the posts, but my vote is tequila shots. Every Thanksgiving, we all down dozens of shots of tequila!

I think you may have started early, because this is about what you DON'T like - not what you DO..:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I also don't like the sweet potatoes. I've been grossed out by sweet potatoes for years because I've only had them with all sorts of sugar and goop on them. I still don't like them at Thanksgiving, but I've discovered I actually like sweet potatoes if they don't have sweet goo on them. Cajun sweet potatoes fries = yum!

This cottage cheese mandrain orange caserole. It looks gross, im alerigic to dairy and I cant eat it. Thinking of bringing my own extra dish this year. I dont like baked beans either, so my plates turkey and pie this year (since its cheesy patato year).

Ouch, now that would be a big change of pace!! :scared1: :lmao:
