The "other" view point.. Thanksgiving Dinner..

I don't like to eat Turkey with my Thanksgiving meal. I have no use for it BLAH! BUT I LOVE LOVE LOVE turkey sandwiches after Thanksgiving!

Say it isn't so :confused3! I love candied yams w/marshmellows, the green bean onion casserole I only get this time of year and all the yummy trimmings that go with Thanksgiving dinner. I guess my least fave is the jelled cranberry . I make my SisIL's cranberry crunch jello salad I love, but can do w/o the plain infamous cranberry. The other thing is parsnips, (sorta carrot related) I don't do well ;). But truthfully it's mostly all good!!! :goodvibes

The only thing that I *do* like at a traditional Thanksgiving dinner is the stuffing. I've eaten turkey prepared many different ways and I've yet to ask for another piece at a Thanksgiving dinner. In fact, one bite is usually all I can tolerate. Love it the next day as a sandwich! :thumbsup2

for me, it's a toss-up between sweet potato casserole and dressing. ICK! just give me turkey, mashed potatoes, and green beans (no casserole) and i'm good.

Cranberry sauce :sad2: . Whether it's jelly or whole berries or canned or homemade, I just can't eat a food that reminds me of having to drink about a million gallons of cranberry juice due to having a....problem caused by swimming lessons + an overchlorinated public pool when I was little. (Probably TMI, but it's the truth; I cringe at hearing the word "cranberry".)

I can safely say that we don't serve the green bean casserol and I had never heard of it until I was an adult. However DHs family does sweet potatoes/yams and ambrosha and I can't stand either. No thank you on cranberry sauce either.

Pumpkin pie from real pumpkin instead of canned. DSIL used to make this EVERY year, she thought everyone loved it.......YUK!

Another vote for sweet potatoes and for cranberry sauce. I'm not a huge fan of dressing, either. I'll usually have just a little bit and that's plenty until next year. ;) When I cook Thanksgiving dinner, my sister has to bring it because I refuse to make it.

Don't like having turkey in the middle of the table. DD and I are the only vegetarians in the family. ;)

Butternut squash---yuck! I don't even like it at my end of the table to taint the air!

Sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and that green been casserole with the caned oniones.

sweet potatoes and green bean casserole--slimey, bleah!

I do like fresh green beans and asparagus, but I'm not much for anything cooked in cream of mushroom soup.

That gelatinous NIGHTMARE called cranberry sauce!! :scared1: I'm still traumatized from being a child and think it was JELLO!!!!!! :rolleyes1

On the other hand I eat sweet potatoes all year round!!! Like them better than any other potato!!

When I was growing up, as a nod to our German heritage, we always had sweet and sour cabbage. My sister still makes it for her Thanksgiving, but I never did like it. Same with sweet potatoes or candied yams. But we always had and still have creamed peas and onions. It's just not Thanksgiving without it.

I am not a big fan of mashed potatoes. I usually just pass them and let them go by. And even when I cook, I have to make them because everyone else likes them.
