The ORIGINAL POP Fridge swap-Closing after 5+ years!!

Okay, here's the bad news, and the good news.

I went to DL today so I couldn't check my emails or home number to see if mamaluvsdis got the fridge. I waited until about 6 p.m. PST to text and see if they got it. (9 p.m. FL time)

Wouldn't you know it just as we were riding the tram to the parking structure I would get a call from them and they didn't get the fridge! Said the CM at LS looked at them like the were crazy! URGGGGGHHHH And the whole time I was talking to her DH on the phone the RT on the tram was talking and the speaker was right over my head. The tram actually stopped twice because someone's arm was hanging off the door. I had just called LS yesterday and gave them the new name to put on the box. What happened??

We got in our car in the Mickey and Friends parking lot and I moved the car to a spot where I could get a better signal. I talked to a CM, W., and after he first told me he couldn't find the fridge after I completely described the box inc. the Disneydaz sign on it he put me on hold and went back again to check. Problem was I couldn't remember the name of the guest who was going to use it on 4/8 but changed their plans. I had deleted her info and couldn't remember her name. I remembered it started with an M. He said Michelle? I said YES! He said there was a box back there with Michelle on it.

After a long 5 minutes or so he came back and said it was there with Michelle's name on it as well as Julie H. which came as a surprise as that was a name from last Nov/Dec.

So I gave the CM the right name again, told him they had already checked in. I then called mama.... and told them the fridge WAS there and the name of the CM who found it. There were just getting to MK for EMH and said they might not be back at POP until 3 a.m.

So hopefully, all will go well. Our fridge is there. My swapper should get it tomorrow a.m. and they will let me know what's still with it.

Not to jinx it but it looks like all is well.

Oh, BTW, we had a good time today at DLR, but it was crowded! We were able to ride some rides, had some food, and DD11 had a good time with her friend.

Time for dinner!

Wow! Glad the LS found it and hopefully your swapper already has it in hand! It is so crazy how these fridges go missing so often! Keeping my fingers crossed for you to get more swappers to fill in the gaps so it will stay out of LS

I know! How about even after fully describing the box it still couldn't be found until I mentioned the name started with an "M". Just goes to show that you can't ever give up. Never take "I can't find it" for an answer! I thought it was pretty funny that I was in the Mickey and Friends parking structure at Disneyland while talking to LS at POP!

That is pretty funny...although I hate you are having to track it down when you are trying to have a vacation day! You do a great job getting it back on track when it goes MIA

I heard from the swapper there and THEY HAVE THE FRIDGE IN HAND! Well, really in their room! And, hold on to your hats and glasses, we still have a coffee maker and a toaster! How cool is that!

I don't want to keep bothering them while they are on vacation so I'll wait to here back from them as to what, if anything is, is still with us. And what size coffee maker we have. I will assume that for those of you who want to use the coffee maker that it takes the standard size (that's the one we had in Oct.)

Also, there remains a small bit of duct tape which is probably leftover from the roll I left with it in Oct. I think our fridge has basically been sitting in LS for months now (other than maybe being used by someone else in late Nov.) with the name Julie H. on it.

I just want to thank accountingbabe again for locating our fridge. She found ours while physically looking for hers as well. Both of our fridges went MIA about the same time.

Now that we are definitely back on track make sure you are making contact with both your swappers to make swapping arrangements, or at least exchange phone numbers, a minimum of 2 weeks before you are going. Also let me know you have done so. I will put a by your name indicated so. If you only have a 1/2 that means you still need to contact one more swapper.

I am awaiting information back from a possible swapper who wants it from something like 4/28 to 5/3. I will post their name when confirmed.

Based on how long our fridge was MIA, but really not , I'm thinking that POP no longer has the 2 week rule where they will get rid of something left there for over 2 weeks. Which could be good news for me in the event I have a gap of over 2 weeks. Of course, I still would prefer to have little, or not gaps.

Got a text from Stellaluna early this a.m. They are there but not in their room yet. They plan on picking up the fridge later today. I'll post again when I know she got it, for sure.

Also, some of the mystery of our MIA fridge may have been partially solved. Apparently LS is keeping fridges outside of LS in containers they leave parked in the drop off parking area just to the side of LS.

So, if you are going and will be picking up for LS make sure they check the outside storage. I think that's where ours, and accountingbabe's fridges were sitting since late Nov.

All I have for May is

You are welcome to have it for those dates if it works for you. My DSis will have it until 5/21. They will be leaving POP around check out time. Their flight doesn't leave until early evening. They would swap it either in the evening of the 20th or early on the 21st.

The swapper with it on the 23rd may not want to pick it up until late on the 23rd or early the next morning.

So, if your dates are during this time you could have as long as 4 nights.

I just opened up some dates in late August/early Sept due to a swappers lack of response.

So if you are thinking of going during the possible free DDP period I know have August 27th to Sept. 12, 2011 OPEN. First come, first served!
