The ORIGINAL POP Fridge swap-Closing after 5+ years!!

Morning all!

Just want to make a quick point. In my opinion (and I the ruler maker here!) The party arriving at POP is to be the one to pick up the fridge. Since the departing guest may be busy checking out, etc. it isn't fair to them to ask them to deliver to your room. Please don't ask the departing swapper to come to your room when they have many other things on their minds.

I have always been the one to pick up the fridge when I have been the arriving party. It's actually quite easy as I need to get a luggage cart anyway to bring our luggage, etc. to our room. Then when I depart I have the next swapper come to my room to pick up. This is the fairest method to all and it is how I prefer it.

If there isn't a swapper there on the date you arrive you would be picking it up from LS anyway.

If this is a problem with anyone let me know and I'm sure I can make other arrangements (for your dates ).

Oh, and one more thing-PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not put the fridge, etc. in Luggage Services if you and the swapper you are swapping with are there at the same time. Please take the few minutes extra it requires to pick up the fridge, in person, and remember that you are saving a lot of money so the few minutes it takes to make, and keep arrangements, isn't asking too much, is it? When I made some of my decisions as to who would get the fridge I did it based on the fact that some of the dates overlapped which guaranteed an in-person swap-which is the only way to make sure the fridge doesn't go MIA.

Thanks debsters41! Camporee was fun. DD10 and I both got to do the zipline and archery. DD10 also got to shoot a BB gun. The zipline was awesome!

Happy Labor Day all!

Still have Sept. 24-27, 2010 open.

We are leaving for Florida in less than 18 days and we'll be back home at POP in 21 days! Yippee! Can't wait to see my old friend, my fridge! And it's new friends, Mr. Toaster and Mrs. Coffeepot.

I MAY have limited internet while there and if I do I will post an update while there inc. new pictures of what we now have. I will be bringing extra hangers and leaving them with the box. You know, the ones you get when you buy clothes? They are perfect for bringing along for extra hangers. I don't know if we have dishes anymore. I will find out soon.

I have a new list ready to post on the fridge of upcoming swappers. If you are thinking of joining my swap and can let me know before I leave on 9/24 (by 9/23 afternoon would be great!) then I will be able to put your name on the list.

Got a call from mickeymaker2003 just a little while ago that she already got the fridge and toaster etc. from annmarieda tonight. She hasn't had a chance to check to see what all is still with us but she did mention the box is barely holding together. Luckily all the swap between now and my trip (9/27) will be in person so the box isn't as important.

I will find a box while we are there to replace the old box. I will also bring some duct tape to strengthen the box ahead of time. I want to get a box big enough to fit the fridge, coffee pot (being added soon) toaster (should fit inside), and anything else in the swap.

I will report back here when I return that I have replaced the box. I will also have new pictures showing what items are still with us.

Also, welcome to our newest swapper, zoie101, who will be filling in the gap right before me (9/24 to 9/27). Lucky zoie will actually get to meet me and my family. I found zoie by seeing her name listed on a "Paying if Forward" at POP thread and sending her a PM.

I don't know. Last I heard most of the smaller things with the fridge had disappeared. Along with the toaster and coffeepot. We now have a toaster and a coffee pot is being added in a few days.

I will be adding some hangers to the swap. We'll be bringing bowls with us but will be taking them back with us. They're the same bowls we've been bringing for years!

I'll send a few of our recent returners a PM and ask for an update on what we have.

BTW, have you connected with busylilnurse? I don't have her down as making arrangements yet.

I just picked up two square shaped bowls, so I will pack them. Too bad the other fridge swap from last year dissolved-I left two Donald shaped bowls in that fridge.

Maybe I will have to get to Tim Hortons for some coffee, if there is a coffeemaker. I know how much everyone like's TH. It took me almost a year to finish off one of the big tins. I just bought a large tin of President's Choice coffee.

Let me know what kind of filters to bring for the coffeemaker.

Well I knew something was going on with busylilnurse. I just got off the phone with her. Her mom has been undergoing some medical treatments and she hasn't been on the boards for quite awhile. She apologized for not letting me know sooner. But I can totally understand. My mom went through something similar 7 years ago and it's all you have time for. My DM is doing great and is coming with DD and I again to WDW this year.

So anyway, squirrel and TinkerbellAbbysMom I have reopened the gap between you. I now have 10/14 to 10/21 open. Hopefully it will be filled soon. If not squirrel will leave everything for Tink.... at Luggage Services. If the 2 of you want to make contact and exchange info just in case, go ahead.

I'll let both of you know if I get a new swapper.

Hi, Terri.
The frig looked in good shape. It was missing the shelf and door to the freezer had been detached, but still inside the frig. The box is still holding up well although you will need to get a bigger one if you want to add a coffee maker. There was a new toaster, a big water spray bottle, some colored Mickey's with tape for the door, and a couple of tupperware containers. I left a new container of Dixie bowls with spoons, forks and knifes in a zip-lock bag.

So no more plastic bowls or plates. Wonder why the freezer door is detached? Hmmmm.

Toster, mister fan, lidded containers, and some decorations were what I remember.

Looks like most items that were there last year have disappeared. A coffeepot will be added in just a few days.

I'll try to find out what size coffeemaker we will have. I assume it will be one of the standard sized ones. I'll bring along some filters in case my DM wants some coffee, or iced coffee!

I'm not familiar with Tim Hortons. Is that someplace in Canada or a special coffee brand? I'm not a coffee drinker but my DM is. She's actually fine with the food court coffee but I'll go ahead and bring along some of her coffee.

Don't tell her but I'm also going to be packing our new mini blender thingy. Similar to the Magic Bullet. DD and I use it almost everyday for fruit smoothies. We use juice or ice tea as our base. Some fruit and ice, sometimes yogurt, and it's a wonderful refresher. Plus it's healthy with all that fruit! It's pretty compact so it won't take that much space for the base and 3 cups (with comfort rings!) I've also made my DM a coffee smoothies, like a frappachino (sp?) With caramel syrup. She said it's very good. All I know is it smells delicious. In fact I will make ones for DD and I using strong iced tea instead of coffee. Would be good for adult iced beverages as well. Maybe we'll have to pick up some adult type stuff and give it a try.Hmmm. I'm not a big drinker but a nice daiquiri or margarita slushie might just be the thing to drink around the pool.

Sorry, I won't be leaving the blender with the swap.
