I couldn't decide which one to post, so you get two. :) Hope you have a great time at MK today!!!!!

Hey guys!!! Happy Friday!

Well, mine will be once my doctor's appointment is over. I have my yearly appointment at the gyno today and I'm not happy about it!

It's funny- on Wednesday I got a text from my Aunt that said, "Do you know you have a doctor's appointment on Friday?" I was like NO!! Apparently she hasn't been in a while, and didn't want to go by herself, so she made an appointment for me too! :confused3 I'm due to go anyway so I'm still going, I just thought it was funny. Apparently everybody knew about it but me, because they all thought somebody else was going to tell me. :lmao:

Any plans for the weekend?? I'm not sure what we will be doing. I know a bunch of people want to go see Transformers. We shall see!!

Ashley- I hope your appointment went well!

A piano bar that I've been wanting to go to is opening up this evening, so we might try to go there.

Jetblue has sent me info to study already!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Lyzziesmom, I am so sorry about your cat. That really stinks your mom would do that. :sad2:

Ashley, hope your surprise doctor's appointment went well.

Nicole, when do you leave for Orlando?

So, we spent Friday at MK and Sat at HS. Spencer did great, except he got scared on Snow White (first time that's happened) and he rode the carousel for the first time. He LOVED 'Ohana. He ate almost the entire bowl of broccoli, plus all the other stuff they brought.

Yesterday, we went to HS. We don't usually go there, so it was the first time we rode TSM and saw One Man's Dream. TSM is AWESOME! Spencer loved OMD though. He ran all over looking at the exhibits and cheering. I have some pictures on FB.

We had lunch at RFC in DTD. I don't think we will go back anytime soon. The food was good (although T-Rex is so much better), but it is so expensive! I had a $10 off coupon and our lunch was still $40 (I had a wrap and Mike had a burger). The waiter sucked. He came over right away and took our drink order. He commented that we looked thirsty and would hurry back. We got drinks relatively fast, but then didn't get refills for 10 minutes. He barely came back to check on us. He didn't ask if we wanted dessert, but just brought us the check.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! While the weather was good while we were at WDW, it is now raining. :umbrella:

Amber, glad you had a good birthday! Maybe Spencer is a future Imagineer! Wouldn't that be awesome!

Ashley, did you find out you were pregnant? Just kidding! That is actually how I found out that I was pregnant, had no idea until that appointment! Hope the appointment went well!

If you guys can spare a prayer, my friend Val's mom has been re-diagnosed with breast cancer, only this time the breast cancer cells are on her liver. She went in for her check-up a couple of weeks ago and they discovered the cells. She had a mastecomy last summer, and had been doing pretty well, so this is very sad. They took out 55% of her liver this week, but won't know until later this week what the prognosis is for therapy and recovery chances. Also, there was a mom and son from our church who were killed in a car accident on their way to vacation bible school Friday morning. I actually saw the scene of the accident when I went to get groceries, and again later that day when I went to the doctor. The 8-month old baby girl in the backseat is in the hospital, and Dad is trying to sort everything out (he wasn't with them). Such sad news today.

Chris is out of town Tuesday-Thursday and I will have 5 dogs in my care! Am I insane? We had agreed to dogsit our friends miniature schnauzer a few weeks ago, then forgot that we had agreed to watch my parents two poms, and then Chris found out he would be gone. They are all good dogs, just hope they don't make me completely insane with the "we want out, we want in, we want out, we want in" stuff!

Amber, I'm glad you had a great time! I saw your pics on FB and they are great! I leave on Tuesday.

Lin, I'll say a prayer. Good luck dogsitting!

Yesterday was busy. I got a haircut, a new phone, and picked up some last minute things for the trip and Steven and I went to the piano bar that just opened up and had a great time!

Tomorrow is going to be busy too. I've got a million errands to do before I leave at 7 on Tuesday morning! :faint:

Ashley, did you find out you were pregnant? Just kidding! That is actually how I found out that I was pregnant, had no idea until that appointment! Hope the appointment went well!

Nope, not knocked up. Although I did get some blood work done, so I guess you never know. :teeth: :lmao: Is that how they found out with you (through the blood work)? The appointment was fine. Although before it I was sooo nervous (I have no idea why, its not like I haven't gone a bunch before!) When they took my blood pressure and pulse, it was through the roof! I was just having bad anxiety. I did calm down pretty quick though.

Nicole- I hope you have a great time in Orlando!!

Amber- I loved the Disney pics! I can't believe it will be 2 years since I've been to MGM when we go in Sept!! Way too long! I haven't been on Toy Story Mania yet, I'm really looking forward to it!

Lyzziesmom, how is it going with the new hermit crabs?

Ashley, I can't believe you haven't been on TSM yet. It is such a fun ride! Probably my favorite. :teeth: You'll have to let me know which day you are planning on going to MGM and we can ride TSM together. Have I mentioned that I LOVE that ride?! One tip: either ride it first thing in the morning, or get FP's early. Or both. When we went on it the first time, we had to stand in a line for 20 minutes just to get the FP's. :scared: I don't think it's that bad anymore now that the ride has been there for a while, but it's still pretty popular. There is definitely a "run" for it at rope drop like there is for Soarin' at Epcot.

The new hermit crabs are doing great. The girls like to play "will he eat it?" with Lyzzie's crab, it's so weird to watch them eat. We never saw the old ones eat. Lyzzie said that she's kind of sad that the other ones had to die for them to get ones that they like better. :(

Nicole, I hope you got all your errands done. Have fun in Orlando and good luck on your traning!

Amber, I love your story about Spencer and One Man's Dream. It makes me sad how that attraction is so often overlooked, I think it's great that it has a new little fan. :D

Lyzzie and I cleaned out her closet today, the only problem is that we didn't quite finish and her bed is piled high with all the crap that we meant to go through "later." Well now it is much later and it's still all there, and I refuse to let her sweep it all back onto the floor. Rather than clean it off before going to sleep (a good hour's worth of work) she has chosen to sleep on the couch. Which reminds me, I have a pile of laundry on my bed... (can you tell that my system for getting things done is to put stuff on the beds? It usually works.) Scoot over Lyzzie, make room on the couch for me! :rotfl:

I finally got all our ADR's made! Of course my parents will probably want to change them all around (Dad REALLY likes Le Cellier but of course there wasn't any availability) but I think they are pretty good. Ashley, I'm sorry but we didn't get any at the same time as yours. :( I got all excited by the online system and just took what it gave me without really paying attention to your ADR's! :rotfl:

So.... drum roll please... here they are!!

Arrival Day (Sat 9/05): No ADR's. We arrive in the afternoon and will likely eat a late lunch/early dinner right away without caring where it is, then head into a park.
Sun: Boma!
Mon: Mom & Dad will go to Coral Reef while the girls and I go to Garden Grill.
Tues: CRT!
Wed: Ohana!
Thurs: Yak & Yeti -- we've never been here and while the food doesn't appeal to me too much, it looks interesting.
Fri: Crystal Palace for an early breakfast before the park opens! I have been reading the Winnie the Pooh stories to Emma so she is very excited about this one, despite figuring out the characters are "people who are all fuzzy." :(
Sat: Tony's -- Lyzzie really loved this one, and who am I to deny my picky eater the one place she actually might eat something other than fries? I timed it so we might get to see Spectro during dinner. ;)
Sun: We go home early early early in the morning -- DME should pick up around 7am. Yikes. So obviously no ADR's for this day.

I am finally beginning to think this trip might actually happen and letting myself get excited about it! After last year, I've been sort of dreading that much togetherness with my folks but hopefully we have all lived & learned. If Dad isn't happy with any of the ADR's, I will give him the Dining phone # and he is welcome to make his own. I am not stressing about it this time around!

Hope you are all having a great week. Nicole -- you should be in Orlando by now. I don't know if you have internet access, but I hope your training is going well.

Things have been quiet around here, except for us almost losing Roxy. She came home a few days ago with no collar, a scratched chin, and a bloody claw. Turns out she somehow got her head stuck in the chain-link fence between our yard & our neighbor's yard, and the neighbor had to cut the fence to get her out!! :scared:  I can't believe he didn't even tell us! They have 2 big dogs too so we are very lucky the dogs were not out that evening.

Good Morning!

Lyzziesmom, great ADR's! We are suppose to do Boma our first night. We have done breakfast and dinner, but Mike prefers dinner because of the zebra domes! We did Garden Grill a few years ago and liked it (I almost picked it for Sept) and I love CP (although I have only done lunch). Congrats on getting 'Ohana! It is my favorite! I'm sad we didn't get it for Sept., but we did just go last week. :upsidedow

I think you have a great attitude about going with your parents; I hope it goes well. :wizard:

Oh, poor Roxy! I hope she is doing ok.

Ashley, we hardly ever go to HS. We went last year to see the Spectacle of Lights, but haven't gone since. Now, we are planning on going before we go to Epcot, so we can do TSM (and One Man's Dream ;)). I also want to take Spencer to Playhouse Disney.

I recommend getting FP's and then riding. Of course, this may mean you need to get there early, because they run out of FP's. I stood in line a while just to get the FP's, because it is so popular. It is worth a walk through the regular line though (you have to see Mr. Potato Head)!

Lin, prayers have been sent.

Mike is sick and I think Spencer is getting sick. He was up all last night. Mike seems to just have a head cold, but I still get paranoid about the flu (due to the people that had swine flu and stayed at POP before we were there).

In other news, my crocheting is going well. I don't get a ton of time to practice, because I have to wait until Spencer goes to sleep. Otherwise, he tries to take my needle and yarn.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Hey girls!!

Well I got my blood results back. It seems I now have a wonky thyroid. :sad2: I'm glad I got it tested because I was concerned with why I was gaining so much weight without changing diet or exercise (I've gained 20 pounds since my last appointment March '08).

So now I have to find a regular doctor to make an appointment with and get put on medication. It stinks because now I guess I have to be on that medication for the rest of my life! But atleast it seems to be an easily treatable condition. Sooooo, I have an appointment August 11 for that. Jeremiah also has an appointment. He hasn't been to the doctor since we've been together (almost 9 years! :scared1: I think its time for a check up!!!)

Nothing else is really new. Today is my Grandparent's anniversary. They are coming in next week to visit, and next Wednesday I have my American Idol concert. :cheer2: I'm going with my Grandma.

Someone remind me on Friday to make my final payment for Disney!!! :rolleyes1:scared1:

Amber- I hope Mike & Spencer feel better soon!

Lyzziesmom- glad you made your ADRs and you are getting excited for Disney! Maybe something will work out one day when we are there and we can eat together.

Just popping in to say hi!

Man, training is intense and it's only the first day! There's soooo much to learn.

I'm going to Epcot on Sunday! I can't wait! If I have time I'll go to DTD on Saturday.

Nicole, I'm glad you'll get to pop in at WDW!! It would be so hard to be right there and not get that fix. I'm sure you'll do fine on the training, they are probably trying to weed out the people who aren't serious.

Amber, I thought the online ADR system was pretty easy. It seemed like there was much more availability on the "popular" restaurants than there usually seems to be. I don't know if it's because of being online you can see alternative times/dates & restaurants, or if attendance is down. If you really want Ohana, keep trying! It's so much easier than calling all the time, I always feel like they are making notes about what a pest I am if I call & bug reservations.

Ashley, we will definitely get together! We might end up with extra meal credits because Lyzzie often doesn't order anything and she is now an adult on the DDP. But even if it's not for a meal, we'll for sure hang out together. I'm so excited about it!! I'm so sorry to hear you're having thyroid issues. You're lucky it was detected early so you can get on the meds. I used to work with a woman who had had her thyroid removed because she wouldn't take the meds; it left a nasty scar across her neck. :scared: I know thyroid issues cause weight gain, do you know if the meds help get rid of the extra weight or at least stop the gaining? Ooooh I'm jealous that you get to go to the Idol concert! Around here they come right around the time of our annual WDW free dining trek so we never go to the concert. That's also when the Barnum & Bailey circus comes to town so we always miss that too. Ahhh, the things we do for that Mouse!

Poor Emma's new hermit crab got sick. She was playing with him today and she was frustrated that he hasn't been as friendly as usual for a few days. Well she suddenly started screaming that his claw fell off!! I had read that it's not too unusual for them to drop a leg or a claw so we put him back in the cage and thought he might be ready to molt. Then we came home from grocery shopping after an hour and he had lost 2 more legs, all on the same side, and his eyes and antennae were really droopy. I felt so bad for Emma, because I had very sternly told her when we got these new crabs that they would be the last ones. Since they were so new, we ended up taking him back to the pet store and they let us exchange it for a new one. The lady there was really rude, at first she looked at him and said, "He's dead." I said no he's not, but he's close. She said, "Oh, then he's molting. Take him home and leave him alone, he's fine." Uhhh... lady, you just said he's dead! So now Emma is on Crab #3 -- Scribble. This time I mean it, this is the LAST ONE! :rotfl: So far it's doing well, I can't tell if it loves Lyzzie's crab or hates it but they were just yelling at each other in the cage a minute ago. It's a very weird noise that they make! Kind of sounds like a squeaky sneaker.

So that was our excitement for the day. Tomorrow we are going to the zoo and Spiderman will be there. Emma says she is NOT going to meet him! We will see. ;)

PS -- Ashley, don't forget to make your final payment! :teeth:

First Up: Spencer peed in the potty!!!

Nicole, sorry the training is intense, but I'm sure you are doing GREAT!!

Ashley, I'm sorry about your condition, but at least its treatable. It's good that they found it, because at times, a thyroid condition can cause issues when trying to get pregnant (not that you're trying to get pregnant :)).

Lyzziesmom, too bad about Emma's crab.

I really like the online system too. In the past, I would call multiple times and I felt like a pain. Now, I can check all day long and they don't know it's me. I have checked a few times for 'Ohana, but no availability. I REALLY wanted Chef Mickey's, but can't find anything here either. Of course, I am picky about times. It's not a huge deal though (but I do keep trying).

First Up: Spencer peed in the potty!!!

Yay Spencer!!!!!! :cool1::dance3::yay:
:wizard::woohoo::3dglasses

You know, I've read about that! That is a little worrisome. We don't want kids right this second, but we do want them in the future, so hopefully the medication will help and that won't be a problem. :guilty:

Lyzziesmom, I'm not sure about the pill and weight loss. I have heard that and honestly I'm crossing my fingers a little that its a side effect. :rolleyes1 Hopefully once my numbers are stabalized the weight gain will stop. :scared:

Can I vent for a minute? I see they are offering upgrades to SSR and OKW again, like the one we got a couple years ago. I was hoping we would be lucky again but nope! I even called to double check but we don't have the PIN code. Now my parents are freaking out and my mom is going to "call and chat them up and just ask if they can do us a favor." My dad has a coworker who claims to do this weekly and supposedly ALWAYS gets upgraded to deluxe resorts. I'm worried about being labeled as a problem guest if my folks call and bug them -- I gave Mom strict instructions not to call more than once. As a CM, even though it's only at TDS, my store manager is always reminding us that we can't pull this kind of crap. Of course, my parents don't take this job seriously and think I'm just being paranoid.

I'm actually happy with our reservation as-is and I was disappointed for about 2 seconds that we didn't get the upgrade this time. I'm so worried about my folks being a pest and messing things up for me. Please tell me I'm being silly.

I didn't even know about the upgrade! I must be out of the loop. I didn't get the offer last time and I haven't gotten anything this time...If your Mom calling Disney works, let me know and I'll give her my reservation #.......;)
