Ugh....I'm not sure about this new manager after all. I only got 5 hours this week, and she told me to give her a call Tuesday to see if I could get more. Then an assistant manager told me today that she was complaining about the other sales associate only being able to work weekday mornings (she only works while her kids are in school) and about how she is is trying to get her to quit by cutting her hours. She doesn't see why she needs sales associates at all. She only wants sales leaders. And what was funny is that on Friday, she told at least 3 people to be sure to apply for jobs, I thought we were fully staffed. Is she going to make them all sales leads??? I am wondering if she wants me to quit also. So I'm very worried. She did tell my coworker that I am quiet, so she is hesitant to make me a sales leader. I know that I'm a quiet person, I'm fully aware of that, but I manage to make my goals most of the time. I'm just so frustrated. I like working there, and other than this she's a really nice person. I just can't afford to be out of a job again.

We had a FANTASTIC time in Epcot yesterday. My FIL decided not to go, but my MIL still went. Spencer had the time of his life at Biergarten. As soon as the band started playing, he was boucing and waving his arms. I don't think he sat down the entire time they played. Several people came up to us and commented on how cute it was to watch him.

We had to stop at Walmart when we left and I found a carseat for $13.50!!! A few weks ago we bought a carseat at Walmart that was on sale. We decided a couple of days later to get another, but they were sold out. I checked all the Walmarts near us, plus Target, and checked online, but couldn't find it anywhere. I saw several sitting on a shelf yesterday, but no price. When the cashier rang it up is was $13.50 (she even did it twice because she couldn't believe the price).

We were rear ended on the way home too, but it didn't do much damage.

We can't go outside now because of the fires. There was a road closed (due to fires) yesterday as we were coming home and now there is smoke everywhere.

Amber -- we had several people at TDS tell us they already bought Bolt at WalMart. The BluRay was released yesterday, but WalMart started selling it and the DVD on either Friday or Saturday. They are not supposed to do that! We reported them and they should be fined $75,000 for violating the street date. They do it all the time anyway, I guess they figure they can afford it for getting the jump on everyone else who plays by the rules?

I posted on a couple of the subforums here about the story hour. Hopefully we'll get a good turnout so we can do more fun things like that.

What a great deal on the carseat!! Awww it sounds like Spencer had a fun time at Biergarten. Emma liked that place a lot too but wasn't crazy about the food. She was too busy dancing to care about eating! Do you have pics of Spencer's arm-waving? I bet he was adorable!! My girls think he is just the cutest baby ever. Oh no, I just saw where you were rear-ended and I hope your car is ok. That must have been scary! What's this about fires?

Nicole -- sorry about the job situation. It stinks whenever there is a management change and you don't know what to expect. I certainly hope your reduced hours don't mean anything bad. What's the point of having only leads and nobody for them to lead? That sounds like a bonehead move to me.


Ugh, I worked all weekend which is fine, but I feel like I missed my whole weekend. I did go out on Friday night after work and met a nice young man who I hope to run into again. We'll see!

Hey guys!!!

We had a nice weekend, besides yesterday, when I was stuck on the couch with a cold pack on my head because of a terrible migraine. It was the worst one I've had in a long time! I ended up passing out for a couple hours and when I woke up I felt alittle better. I'm feeling much better today though!

We had fun at the dog rescue event at the park. We ended up going Saturday and Sunday, because when we got there on Saturday I didn't realize you could bring your dogs! Duh! So we brought Ruby on Sunday. She had fun, there were a lot of pugs there! I didn't get anything for HER per se, but I did get MYSELF a pug bracelet and a little framed picture.....

The Twilight party was ok. We went to Border's. There weren't any fun things going on while we waited for them to start selling the DVD (not much of a party really) so Jeremiah and I just bought some snacks at the cafe and read magazines. There were a lot of girls there though! At the end of the night the time came for people to draw numbers to determine where to stand in line. Well Jeremiah got number 78 so I snuck over and pulled another number, and got 16. I guess that proves my luck is much better than his! Checking out actually wasn't bad at all, they went on sale at 12:01 and we were out of there by 12:10.

Lyzziesmom, I remember on Friday reading a thread about how a lady was excited she found Bolt at Walmart early. That is so wrong that they would do that!! Good luck on your review (and seeing the guy again)!

Nicole, I'm so sorry about the new manager! I think it probably would be a good time to look for another job, 5 hours is just not gonna cut it.

Amber, I'm so glad you had fun at Epcot! I'm jealous. We've never been to Biergarten before, never liked that you have to sit with strangers (you do have to sit with strangers don't you??) I'm off to look at your pictures on Facebook! And Lyzzie and Emma are right, Spencer IS the cutest baby ever!

The appraiser is coming today at 5:30 to look at the house, so I have to clean up alittle! I did most of the stuff yesterday, but couldn't finish because I started feeling so sick!

Ashley: I'm pretty sure you can request a table by yourself at Biergarten, but they don't have many small tables so you'd need to be pretty flexible. If you go during a non-busy time they could probably make it work. Unless you bring enough people with you to fill a table! When we went they seated us with an older couple, they pretty much just stuck to themselves and so did we. It was fine. I know what you mean though, I don't really like having strangers bother me when I'm eating, mostly because I'm so picky and people always made fun of my food when I was growing up. It doesn't even bother me anymore, but I just would rather not share a table. It's a really fun restaurant though!

Our weather is getting stormy. It's so windy it blew the doormat over outside the front door at work!! I have errands to run this evening and really don't want to. I just want to go to sleep early and catch up.

Ashley, I don't like sitting with other people either, but they usually keep to themselves. You can ask to sit by yourself, but it's not always possible.

Lyzziesmom, it has been really dry here, so there have been several forest fires.

In regards to the accident, we were in MIL's Jeep. The guy wasn't paying attention and just hit us.

We are watching Bolt and Spencer seems to really like it. He has been just sitting and watching (although he does bounce around for the music).

Good morning friends! I know some of you watch Idol -- I heard there was a presidential speech during Idol last night? Did Idol end up being on at all? Does anyone know if it will be rebroadcast, or will it just be "skipped?" This is important stuff here!

I got some potentially GREAT news at work last night (TDS). My store manager had me doing a couple new tasks that I haven't done before, helping to prepare for a floor move. When she checked up on where I was, I mentioned that I was waiting for my floor manager to show me what else to do; since I had never done it before I needed a little more help but that I was glad to be learning new things. She said, "Oh trust me, you'll be learning a LOT more new things after your review," and she winked at me. YIKES! Does that mean I'm getting that open team lead position? Another coworker said the store manager told her that she loves that I am always dependable and trustworthy. I don't want to get my hopes up but it all sounds really promising. I have made no secret of the fact that I am aiming for a management/lead position. Send some pixie dust my way if you have some to spare!! My review will be in the next couple of weeks, it was supposed to be this week but apparently Corporate changed the rules and the store manager needs her review first. I almost wish she hadn't said anything, because I am going to drive myself crazy wondering what's going on! Sorry to ramble, I'm just really excited!

Ashley: How is your kitty's foot? Is she feeling better? Jonas was biting at his foot something awful last night, I thought he was going to pull his nail off! Turns out he had a split nail and was trying to work the loose piece off. He was NOT happy with my helping him, but I'm pretty sure he was making it worse.

Hey everyone!!

Well it seems I am sick again. It's Jeremiah's fault this time, he was sick first! It seems like everyone around me is sick and we all just keep passing it around to each other!

Lyzziesmom, American Idol will be on tonight and tomorrow night this week because of the speech last night. I'm excited to see it! Great (potential) news about TDS!!! Would you work there full time if you were promoted? Would it be your only job?

Lily's foot seems better. She seemed worse on Saturday and we made an appointment for Monday, but then she seemed like she was improving so we canceled it. She isn't 100% but she's much better!

Do you guys remember how I was supposed to go over to the West Coast for a baby shower and also to visit my Grandparents this past weekend? Well I'm glad we didn't go- turns out the pregnant girl (my cousin's girlfriend who I've never met) was smoking and drinking the entire time! I wouldn't have been able to keep my mouth shut, so I'm glad I wasn't there!! How can people be so stupid?!?!

Oh, what do you guys think of the free dining rumor? I'm pretty excited! I wanted to go for my birthday in October, but the promotion always ends in September! I will probably book it if it is released and then if a better deal comes out, book that instead. It would be really fun to have a meet in WDW! I know its hard for everyone right now, I'm just wishful thinking.....

Ashley, that's awful about that girl. Her poor baby! Is she very young? Sometimes people just don't realize that their actions are no longer about only them -- not that I'm making excuses because it's still just wrong!! I must admit that I did have a couple glasses of red wine when I was pregnant with Lyzzie, but never more than one at a time and never more than once in a week, probably 4 times total, and I had my dr's ok. One of Lyzzie's dad's friends smoked through all her pregnancies (5!) and it used to make me SO mad. She also would have her other kids bring her her cigs and lighters. Needless to say she was not MY friend and I definitely did not let her around Lyzzie!

Glad to hear your kitty is feeling better, but I'm sorry that you are sick again. It's awful how it just keeps going around isn't it?

I'm pretty sure I will not be offered a fulltime position at TDS. They are cutting costs all over the place, which is why our one assistant manager got let go after 17 years with the company. I was told the position is not going to be filled, but that they will have 2 part-time team leads instead. Even if they did offer fulltime, it wouldn't pay enough for it to be my only job. I wish it could be though, how great would that be?! Of course it could just be that I'm getting a bad review and they want me to learn more stuff to keep my job. Hopefully I'll find out soon!

I'm glad that we didn't actually miss Idol, it's stupid but I was worried about it!

She's 26, and this is her fourth kid! I'm sure she knows better. She also wasn't drinking wine, it was Jack Daniels. I've heard its ok to drink a glass or 2 of wine while pregnant, this is just different. Anyway, there isn't anything I can do about it, so I guess I need to just forget about it.

I remember hearing last week that Idol was Wednesday & Thursday, so I wasn't concerned, but if I had accidently fast forwarded that or something, I would've been worried too! I'm annoyed that Survivor hasn't been on lately also! I guess its coming back next week.

How did the Bolt release party and your reading go?

Ugh, the Bolt release was a bust. We didn't even do the reading. There were not enough kids in the store at one time. The only time there were more than 3 kids in the store, there was nobody else on the sales floor with me to handle the register so I could go read. It was really disappointing. My store manager was the one who had set it up, but she didn't do any advertising or even put up a sign or tell anyone, so there just wasn't any interest, and then she really didn't go out of her way to make it easy for me to do the story. I was also mad at my mom who said she would bring the kids and then didn't. I at least would have been able to read for them, and then other kids probably would have joined in (we were going to do it in the front window). I was pretty disappointed in the way the whole thing was handled. We also have Bolt stickers and Bolt Easter tattoos we were supposed to be giving out for the last couple weeks and nobody remembered to do it. I gave out quite a few last night and really made some kids' days.

Lyzziesmom- I hope you get the lead position! I'm sorry the Bolt party didn't turn out as planned.

I played hooky from school yesterday and today, I went with my mom to my aunt and uncle's house out near Corpus Christi. I had a great time. It was nice to get out of town for a little while and just relax.

Steven started his new job yesterday, and they weren't lying when they said that there were opportunities for overtime! Last night he told me he didn't get off work until 8pm and it's almost 8 now and I still haven't heard from him!!!

Tomorrow I'm supposed to be going with my Aunt to a taste testing. It's this place my Mom found where you go taste different foods from restaurants and get paid $25 for your feedback! It's mostly food from fast food places. It is supposed to be for a breakfast croissant. Today my Mom tasted the Burger Shots from Burger King! I really want to go, mostly for the $25, but its early in the morning and I'm not sure how I'll be feeling tomorrow. We'll see! If I don't tomorrow, I would love to do it in the future! I'm down for any way to make some easy money.

Good morning everyone! I'm waiting for my Aunt to come pick me up for the taste testing.

What did everyone think of American Idol? I really really liked Matt, Adam & Allison. It was a pretty good night, much better than last weeks!

Nicole, I've had the burger shots myself. I think they are pretty good! The only bad thing about the taste testing is, if you don't like certain things on your sandwiches it is bad because you can't special order stuff. I'm pretty picky (not as bad as Lyzziesmom but close ) so I'm not sure how I would react to that. For example, the burger shots come with pickles and mustard. Whenever I get them, I get only ketchup. Luckily today my tasting is for a breakfast item which I normally don't have a problem with! Some people even get to taste desserts, or just french fries,that would be nice!

BTW, Amber, how is your tooth doing? Did you ever make it to the dentist? I went Tuesday because my tooth is still hurting that got a root canal recently. I'm on antibotics and if that doesn't help then I have to go to the endodontist. Something tells me I should have just done that in the first place! They are the experts on root canals, I probably wouldn't be having this problem right now if I went to them first.

Somehow I missed that link Ashley -- the whole post actually -- but yes, it is the same girl who originally started our group! I wonder if she forgot? It sounds like it just didn't turn out the way she wanted it to the first time, so she's giving it another go. I like how it has "rules" this time! I might pop in & say hi over there.

The taste-testing sounds neat. Can't beat getting paid to eat, right? Do you get to choose what you want to taste? Like I know you said today is breakfast, do they have a list or something so you could just show up for say a dessert item? That would be my style! I'd be too afraid to try anything else, since I am the Queen of Picky Eaters. Must be a Libra thing.

Nicole -- did you enjoy your mini-vacation? Playing hooky is always nice, as long as you don't do it TOO much. Wow sounds like Steven's new job is going to keep him very busy. Does he get paid OT when he works that long?

Emma goes on her first field trip tomorrow. Her class is going to a local theater to see a play. She is so excited! I think she has had her outfit planned out for a month now. Next Friday I am taking the day off of work to take Emma to Kindergarten RoundUp in the morning, and I think Lyzzie's class is having parent-teacher conferences that day too. I can't believe it's already time to sign up Emma for Kindergarten!! I was thinking this morning about how fast they grow and it made me sad, but proud that they are such good kids.
