The only way to have a friend is to be one." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hey!

Where is everyone???

We took Buddy to the vet today...they gave him antibotics and fluids and they are "hoping" that that will help and he just has a UTI. He has a recheck on Monday so if it hasn't improved by then, they will do more tests.

Here is a cute picture I took of Ruby and Lily!! It's pretty rare that they actually sit together on the couch!

Aww Ashley, that pic is so cute. I love when pets act like they like each other! Your couch seems to have that effect on them doesn't it? (The pic with Jeremiah from the other day was on the couch too, wasn't it?) We were not originally going to go for 8 nights, my mom wanted to go Saturday to Friday or Saturday, but I suggested staying the extra night & going home on Sunday morning so we don't have to rush rush with just a morning in the parks and then it gets very hectic trying to get everyone back & ready to go at the same time. I couldn't believe she went for it! I tried to suggest leaving home on Friday after work too, but that was pushing it. :rotfl: I'm so excited about getting to see you again & meeting Jeremiah, I have a feeling he will really entertain the kids. I agree that the rest of you guys might want to start checking out prices... just sayin'! ;)

Yesterday was such a great day, the girls said they were sad that it had to end. We went to Kindergarten Roundup in the morning, they had the kids go through a "mini-day" of K while the parents did paperwork. They went to class, the music room, and gym. Emma is SO excited and wants to start K immediately! I am so proud of her but it makes me sad that my baby is growing up so fast.

Disney on Ice was a lot of fun! We really had to rush to get there, and my GPS doesn't recognize the main road to get to the arena which I found out too late, so we had a tour through a very sketchy part of KCMO. We finally made it just in time, and the line at will-call was REALLY long! We missed about 10 minutes but the girls were super surprised and had a wonderful time. The show was great, as always, and our seats were perfect.

On the way to Disney on Ice, Lyzzie was trying to figure out what the surprise was. She said, "I hate the suspense of surprises." Emma must have misheard, because she said, "Yeah I hate expensive surprises too."

We had lunch at Sonic and then went to the local farm for the afternoon. The weather was chilly but pretty nice. We went on a hayride and helped bottle feed the baby cows. It was just a great, great day. Today it is supposed to get up to 70 but not until evening when it'll rain... so far it's been hovering around 50 and is super windy so it feels really cold. Blecch.

This morning we went to the Easter egg hunt at Emma's school. It was fun but oh boy those things go fast. Emma said, "It's like 'go! Zing... done." They had face painting and the Easter bunny. The bunny costume was pretty bad - you could see arms, neck & socks sticking out - and Emma decided it's a "bunny's helper."

I hope all my DIS friends are having a great weekend. Ashley, I'm sorry your kitty isn't feeling well. Hopefully it's not a big deal and the antibiotics will fix him all up.

PS -- Emma has her hermit crab in her Easter basket!! :rotfl:

I'm SO excited too!! Hopefully this meet will turn out better than the last.;):lmao: (Of course we had alot of fun together, atleast I thought so!) I'm wishing the summer away too...I keep telling myself its good that the trip seems so far away, because it gives me something to look forward to! Today at TDS they had alot of cute adult shirts! For some reason my store doesn't carry alot of adult stuff, which is annoying! I'm still trying to decide if I want to add the 7th night. Of course I want to, I'm just trying to decide if its worth it.

Yes, check out prices guys ::yes::

:lmao::lmao: That is hilarious!!!

That's my girl!!!:thumbsup2 (definitely thumb)

We went back to Sawgrass Mills today and to the Disney Outlet- I got a really cute Mickey wallet...I was hoping they would have the matching purse but no luck. They have such good stuff there thats cheap! I'm not sure what we are doing tonight..Jeremiah's been wanting to go see the new Fast and the Furious movie.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!!

Ashley, does the Disney Outlet have stuff that the regular TDS doesn't carry anymore? If so, can you keep an eye out for something for me? I broke my favorite sunglasses, they were from TDS last summer and had gold Mickey head emblems on the side (they're the ones I'm wearing in my Facebook profile pic) and I can't find a replacement anywhere. Your wallet purchase reminded me, because the sunnies were part of a line that had matching brown wallets & purses. We haven't had any new adult purses/wallets since then, so I'm assuming the one you bought was an older style. We don't have an outlet around here but I'd love it if you could find the sunglasses!

Yeah we don't have much adult stuff TDS right now. I keep hoping that will change but I really don't know. It seems like they are focusing more on toys than anything else lately. We were told when Disney bought the stores back that it would take at least 18 months for the merchandise to start changing, and even then depending on who you talked to they would either say we'd get more adult things or that the adult lines would be phased out entirely. Hopefully not! We get SO many requests for adult things. I wish we would have more jewelry & accessories, nice clothes, and home decor, and not just tshirts. The tshirts are cute but never fit me quite right.

I think you should add the 7th night if it will make your trip less stressful. It can be hard to decide if it's "worth it," but if it cuts down on a stressful hectic schedule then I think that makes up for the extra cost. After all, it IS vacation! But if it really won't make that much difference, then it might not be worth it. I always struggle with that too. I like to arrive in the afternoon and then get a fresh start the next morning in the parks, but I hate to pay for that "extra" night. I'm a cheapskate, I can't help it! I want to squeeze every bit of entertainment out of my vacation dollars! (PS - I was going to make a ticker but I don't want the girls to see it, so I'll just look at yours for now. :) )

I got the girls to bed nice and early and was looking forward to watching some of my shows and clearing out the DVR's memory, and then there was this HUGE thunder that scared the crud out of poor Emma. Now she is laying on the couch because she refuses to be alone in case it thunders again. There goes my nice relaxing night.

Have a great weekend, everyone! I was going to HOOT but then I realized it's only 8pm... hardly a night owl hour! :rotfl:

I've seen those before! I will be on the look out for you. The outlet mostly carries stuff from the parks. I was actually at the regular TDS today too.:rotfl: We were mall hopping!

It was funny, at the outlet I was talking to the CM and after we were finished paying he gave me some stickers (you guys know how much I love stickers!) Well I put one on right away to get alittle of the Disney spirit. When we went to get dinner the waitress noticed it and asked if we went to Disney today (only is that really possible in Florida I guess!!!) I told her I wished I had!!

Lyzziesmom and Ashley- I am so jealous that ya'll are going to WDW and get to meet up! I'm still trying to convince Steven, but so far it's not going too well!

Lyzziesmom- I'm glad you had a good time at the show!

Ashley- I hope Buddy gets better soon! Cute pic!

Amber- I hope you were able to make it out to WDW today!

I've been so busy these past few days! Friday was my sister's birthday, we went out to dinner. Then yesterday, Steven and I went to the mall, and then later we went to the House of Blues for dinner and to see if a piano bar that I've been wanting to go to has opened up. :teeth: Of course it's not open yet, so we just walked around and did a little shopping. Then we finally saw Bolt. It was so cute! Today I just finished a project for art, I'm not sure what else we'll do today. I'm surprised I got this whole weekend off!

My manager called me this morning and wants me to interview for the sales lead position! I am flattered that she wants to interview me, seeing that I still have only been there less than 2 months and still feel as though I know nothing sometimes and make my goofball mistakes!!! One good thing is if I get the job, I will get a raise!

I took Steven to jury duty this morning because he didn't want to drive. Now I'm waiting for him to call me while I'm at school, since I have to pick him up and we're both downtown. I think he was chosen though, because he told me he has to come back tomorrow!!!!

Congrats Nicole! That's great news!!! I hope you get the position (and your raise!!!) It does sound like Steven got chosen!! I always thought it could be fun, I've been called for jury duty once but was excused because it was when I lived in Virginia. I wouldn't want a murder case or anything though:scared:

My cat Buddy is upset.:headache: He is just screaming and having a fit. I have him locked up with me in my bedroom because he has to use a seperate litter pan and he hates being in here and seperated from Lily. I have to bring in a urine sample so I have to collect it today.:scared: It seemed like he was getting better but last night he started going every couple minutes again, I've been worried about him. He has another appointment tonight at 6, so we will see.

Good luck with your kitty, Ashley. Hopefully he will be ok -- and realize that you are not trying to kill him!

Nicole, that is great news on the job interview! I'm sure you'll do great. Don't worry about the goofball mistakes, we all make them. It's how you handle them that counts, I believe. I don't know anything about jury duty, but does selection sometimes take more than one day? I have never been called and probably won't, since I am not registered to vote. I have heard that in KS they choose jurors based on your driver's license and not voter registration, but I don't know if it's true. I'm with Ashley, I think it could be very interesting. And I wouldn't mind being sequestered in a hotel for a while! (But not TOO long.)

I am SO tired. For some reason I couldn't sleep last night, my brain just wouldn't shut off. I was worrying about everything from work to weather to why some of our "friends" deserted us. :( By the time I realized that my Ambien wasn't working, it was too late to take another -- I didn't want to sleep all day! So I tossed & turned and finally fell asleep (sort of) around 5am. Then my alarm went off at 6:10. :headache: Needless to say, I may start snoring any second now!

Lin -- we haven't heard from you in a while. I hope everything is ok! I know things were hectic for you last time you popped in, but don't be afraid to just say hi once in a while & let us know you're still alive & kicking! We miss you around here!!

Hi Amber, too. How is our little Spencer doing? Yesterday Emma heard the name Amber on tv and (not realizing it is your name) she laughed like crazy. She said, "Amber is a funny name because it sounds like Hamburger!" She was pretty amazed & embarrassed when I told her that Spencer's mommy is an Amber. (But she still thinks it's funny.) Kids! I can't wait until Spencer starts talking and we can hear about the funny things he comes up with.

Hopefully he will be ok -- and realize that you are not trying to kill him!

I think I've made it worse! I had to give him his pill (first time without the help of Jeremiah!) He was pretty horrified. We have a pill gun that you have to stick down his throat so he swallows the pill, and I had to hold him down and open his mouth to do it.:headache: I've been talking to Jeremiah on the phone and he is just laughing at the craziness that is at the house today.:mad: Somebody remind me why he didn't take today off??!:mad:

Sorry you didnt get enough sleep Lyzziesmom!!! I got probably 4 hours total. I'm totally exhausted!

Lin, what is it now, 7 or 8 weeks until summer?:woohoo: Do you have any plans for your time off??

Anybody ever see Grey Gardens? I'm so excited about the movie they made that will be airing on HBO. Drew Barrymore is starring in it. I've been watching the old documentary on Youtube today! Some parts are pretty funny but the condition of the house and how they are living is pretty sad.

Hi All!

Nicole, that is great news! Good luck!!! :wizard:

Ashley, I hope Buddy feels better soon.

Lyzziesmom, Emma is too funny. Usually people think Amber is a stripper name

Not much going on here. My grandmother isn't doing well. She has been going downhill since Jan. and they aren't really sure what is going on. She has a form of leukemia that is slow progressing and can't be helped with chemo or radiation. They are not sure if that is causing some of her issues now (part of her problem is she can't feel her hands or feet). She now has to us a walker (before this all started she was walking a mile or more every day). So, she is really depressed. I am really worried about her and trying to get up there before next month (although that is now looking unlikely).

Amber, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. My brother and my grandma both also have leukemia. It doesn't sound like the types they have are the same type your grandmother has, but I know my brother has continuing issues with his bones that were caused by both the leukemia and the chemo, and he uses a walker sometimes too. Most of the time he is too stubborn to use it because he "looks like a dork with it" :rolleyes" but he limps pretty bad. I haven't seen my grandma in a while but the last I heard, she was going to have a 2nd or maybe 3rd round of chemo because it kept coming back, but then at the last minute she started feeling better and they postponed the chemo due to how sick it makes her. She really has been getting worse, but refuses to follow dr's orders and take care of herself. It's really hard on my grandpa. They have been married since they were 18 & 20, and they are now well into their 70s. When Grandma is sick, Grandpa is the one who loses weight.

I hope you are able to visit your grandmother soon. My thoughts are with her.

We got bad news today at the vet for Buddy.:guilty: He has bladder stones and has to have surgery right away. The vet said it was pretty urgent because they can move down causing a blockage which could cause kidney failure, so he is having it tomorrow.:sad1: I hope everything turns out ok. It's expensive but I think he's worth it. He is also going to have to eat special prescription food now.

Amber, I'm so so sorry about your Grandma.

Amber- I am so sorry about your grandma, I hope you are able to go visit her. :grouphug:

Ashley- Poor Buddy! I hope everything goes okay tomorrow.

Ashley -- your poor kitty! I'm glad you caught it in time and I'm sure he will be much better after the surgery. I have had cats my whole life and had no idea they could get bladder stones. You are such a good pet owner. :teeth:

Our email server at work is down for the 2nd day in a row. Everyone is saying it's like the Stone Ages around here, trying to work without email. It has been a challenge for sure!

Well Buddy is in surgery right now...should hear back about him soon. Apparently early this morning they called Jeremiah and "forgot" to add almost $200 to our bill.:sad2: It's the second time its happened since yesterday ....(them saying they forgot to add charges) Anyway, send some good thoughts Buddy's way.

Good luck Buddy! You'll be feeling better in no time. :teeth:

Ashley, I'd be mad about them "forgetting" to add charges to the bill. I bet they wouldn't like it too much if you "forgot" to pay a few hundred bucks! For some of us, those forgotten charges would make or break the ability to pay the bill -- not good.

Have you heard anything about him yet?

For some of us, those forgotten charges would make or break the ability to pay the bill -- not good.

I know. I am furious honestly. I never want to use this office again, it isn't the first time I've had issues with them. Today around 1 Jeremiah called to get an update- they said Buddy was in surgery and that they would call when they were finished. 2:40 came and no phone call, so he called back. He spoke to a nurse and they said that the doctor had went to lunch.:mad: Nobody bothered to call us when he was finished!!!!

Fortunately he said Buddy is starting to wake up and seems to be doing ok. The doctor STILL hasn't called us, and it is 4:20. I'm just getting madder and madder, and I AM going to tell the vet how I feel when I see her next.

I've looked the other way with some of the problems I personally had with the office staff, because I liked the doctor. But that's not the case anymore! I'm definitely not going to be going there again (and they will lose out on alot of money the way my pets need care!!) So far over $350 (!!!!! ALOT of money, atleast to me) has been added since our first estimate, because they "forgot" to add things. When its all said and done, this is going to cost over $2000.

.......Vent over........

Oh my goodness Ashley, I'd be furious too! Don't they know you are worried sick?!? Shame on them for not calling you. The important thing is that Buddy gets better, but I agree that you should not use them anymore, and spread the word about your bad experience.

On a much happier note....

Look what Jeremiah ordered me!!

It was supposed to be a surprise but he told me about it, haha! It's supposed to be here Friday. I've always wanted the monorail shirt at Disney but always forget to buy it. I can't find the one they sell at Disney anywhere online. I really like this one though! And its V neck, which I think is more flattering.
