The Ongoing Monorail Closure Schedule

So what is the latest closure schedule for the monorail? What should we expect during our visit in September? We are staying at the Contemporary.

My concern is making to Epcot rope drop if the resort monorail doesn't start running until the park is already open. If this happens will Disney provide bus transportation?

The current scheduled "modified schedule" is only until June 2016, however modified schedules of this form have been happening for almost the last two years. There may be a lapse in the times for the summer and theholidays then they may pickup again after. Normally the trend has been to not have the modified schedules during the busy (holiday or peak) times. With the modified schedules the beams have only been opening late on Monday and Tuesday mornings, with the same beams closing earlier the night prior. All other days of the week operate normally for the Resort and Epcot beams. The express beam may experience a midday shutdown after the morning blow in from 11:30-6:30pm, then resume normal operation for park exit. During the times of the shutdowns, late openings or early closers buses are put into place. The busses follow the same route as the monorail would. So to get to Epcot from Contemp, you'd take the resort monorail bus to the TTC then a bus from the TTC to Epcot provided both beams are down.

I usually have access for the current scheduled hours about a month ahead of time, if you'd like I can update you in October. But based on what I can remember for last year I don't think you'll have any late openings/early shutdowns to bother with.

No the busses only replace the exact Monorial route. So for Epcot the bus would run from TTC to Epcot. If the resort rail isn't running then either, then you would take a bus from CR to the TTC, then another bus from the TTC to Epcot.

Not really. Instead of transferring from monorail to monorail at the TTC you take a 3-5 minute walk from the monorail to transfer to a bus at the TTC. Not a reason to spend money on Uber for me.

I have to agree what polydweller said above. Why waste the money when the uber what have to wait in line at the toll plaza at Epcot anyways.

We will be staying at the Poly, so we can walk to the TTC. Does anyone know what time the busses begin running from there to MK and Epcot? It will be our first time doing RD and I don't want to leave only 30 min prior on one of the boats!

Normal opening time for the Resort Monorail is 7am. If it's a delayed opening, then buses from Poly to MK should start about the same time. That's your best route to MK.

Normal opening for the Epcot Monorail is 8am. If it's a delayed opening, buses from TTC to Epcot should start about the same time.

Because if all the transportation safety checks are done before the scheduled opening time they open early! Happens a handful of days every week.

Yes, unless some other random act of God prevents even that.
