She's not going to recover. Too much neurological damage.

So sorry to hear that.

My old job just called out of the blue. I have been gone for almost a year and 10 months. They need some temporary help (in a different position than I held before. My MIL can watch the boys on Mon, so my first day is worked out. :yay:

I told them that I cannot do anything on Tues (since that day is no bueno for her). I may even get to work from home on Tues. Next, we need to figure out Weds, Thurs and Fri.

:sad1: So what does it mean by she wont recover? As in wake up? I am just trying to understand.

As in too much damage was done to her brain, she is starting to show signs of severe neuropathy and the injuries are terminal. All the family memebers have been contacted and there is one person left that once he tells me that he is not coming to see her, I will arrange for Dr. J to terminate life support. It will only be a matter of hours after that.

So sorry to hear that.

Thanks, we knew something like this was coming, but we didn't expect it this fast or the brain. We thought it would be something else. Just remember we are all getting old, and don't push things. If people around you are trying to get you to stop, slow down and do less, maybe stop driving, there is probably something they can see that you can't.

Good for you Kim! I hope you enjoy going back to work!

Thanks. She was thinking it would be 20 hours a week for 2-3 weeks, so it would not be much. As long as I can work out childcare arrangements, I am excited about it. Who know? It may even last longer than 3 weeks. Based on the hours and pay, I need almost 4 weeks to pay for a month of Xander's school!

I know surewest was at the waterman and elkgrove blvd. If not I am so sorry.

Nope the stop at Bradshaw & EG BL.

It's a good example of what sets Disney apart from dirty californian carnivals. Disney parks are much more peaveful so you don't wear down as fast. Disney parks have so many attractions you sit during. Disney parks have so much shade and benches to keep cool and relax. Plus the music is harmonius.

So true. One reason I don't really enjoy the State Fair is it's all on concrete and blacktop with a lot of wackies walking around. It would get a little creepy late at night.

I have only been to WDW once and I have not been back to DL since the 1980's

What??? You need a trip to DL!

I so sorry...my heart just aches for you having to make this decision. You've been an amazing friend to Arline and have done all you could .

I'm so sorry to hear that Alison. I am praying for you and Fran through a difficult time.

Very nice Kim. Glad that you are working again.

Jo, We need to find a way to get you to Disneyland, ASAP! I just noticed it has been a while since you've been.

I am praying for you ladies. This is very sad as I know she was a dear friend of yours. Hours ago, I thought it would be hard on you putting her in a home. I had no idea that she was at this point. Is there anything we can do?

I know, it's just awful. We knew that her moving into her place was going to be some sort of tragedy, but we thought that she might fall and break her hip. We never thought that she would have a brain injury. Our doctor (Dr. J) was there and remembered the conversation we had back in April at midnight where we told her that we didn't think she would be safe living on her own. What could we do? We had moved her down here and convinced her to leave Tulare before we realized how frail she really was. She was so adamant about living on her own.

I think she had the hemmorrhage on the brain before she left our house and even if she had been staying here still I would have found her on the floor Monday morning. Whether I would have found her earlier is hard to say, I hit the ground running at 9:00AM and it wasn't until after noon that we were done with meetings and other stuff.

Dr. J says we can't think about what we should have done and all we can do is move forward. What was meant to be was meant to be.

Wise words of wisdom from your Dr., but I know how hard that is to do. Try to focus the happier times. We're all here to listen and I wish there was more we can do.

Thank you Kim, I don't do DL

I'm surprise Jo that you haven't been to DL for a long time. You should considering going down their one day.

Same here. I only go to the California State Fair is to see the exhibits and the booths. I also go see the livestock and the farm area where it is interesting. I just don't like going on any of those rides which doesn't seem safe.

I'm glad you enjoyed your day at the fair Bret. I can tell my DH is missing it a little so I'm sure we'll be going again in the future.

We're heading to see Alabama at the Mid-State Fair tomorrow and then going to Pismo Beach. Let the weekend begin.:thumbsup2

Nice road trip for the new ride.

Thank you Angela. This year fair was really nice. It also was great this year was the weather where it wasn't that hot

Hope you and your family have a great time on your trip. :thumbsup2

Very nice ride.

Thanks.

The weather can make or break a fair day. The cooler days are so much nicer than the scorcing ones. Most of the years when we were there was when the fair was in August and really hot. Some of the animals coming from cooler areas of the State didn't make it.
