For someone who has been to WDW over 20 times, you would think I have the packing down to a science. I always forget something!
This first trip after we had purchased a Pal Mickey, we forgot to bring him, even though I had had him out for weeks beforehand. Another trip, we did bring him, but left him on one of the busses as best we can figure. We were home before we realized it and didn't follow up on it. I'll just have to replace him with the newer version in the future.
The worst for me was our last trip in May. I had to work the day we were leaving and planned to leave work no later than 2pm. Of course, nothing goes as planned and it was an almost 4:30 by the time I left (I'm habitually late which drives my family crazy). It takes me 45 minutes to get home and then another 50 minutes to get to the airport and our flight was at 7:05! I had left all my stuff on the bed in the morning and during one of the many calls from my husband and son during the day, told them to put everything in my suitcase. I came in the house, they threw the luggage in the car, I moved the camera charger and all my pocket PC stuff from my work bag to my vacation bag and we took off. All the way to the airport I kept saying, we're not going to make it. We pulled into the Park and Fly about 25 minutes before our flight and the lady at the desk told me we were fine which slowed my heart down a little bit. Once we got to the airport and saw there were no lines and made it through security before the plane even started loading I felt real relief.
That's when I realized even though I had my camera charger, I left the camera at home. I LOVE my digital camera and take lots of pictures. I felt like crying from all the emotion at that point. My son said I could use his camera but it just doesn't compare to mine. It actually seemed good to not worry about taking photos that week. However, we would all laugh every time I saw something that I would say, "I'd take a picture of that...if I had my camera!" We're hoping to go again in September and you'd better believe the camera will be there. And I won't work the day we leave!!!
