Grandson received his parade time yesterday. Parade starts at 9:25 am by Canada. With Epcot scheduled opening at 9:00 am, will we have time to walk to the countries in 25 minutes? My wife and I are 66 and slow walkers.

I saw a prior post of yours on being to Epcot many times, so you’d likely be the best judge of that… it depends on several variables, including your actual arrival time to the park, true speed of walking, crowd size that you’d have to get through, etc… Of note, given where Easter falls this year, I don’t think many school-aged kids will be on family vacation that day, so hopefully appreciably lighter crowds that early in the day.

As you’re likely aware, Epcot is quite large and:

1.) If you are staying at one of various hotels that offer early entry (8:30am), take advantage of it.

2.) If not, still consider getting there a bit early, to be near the front of the pack.

3.) And if you get there early, even without early entry, you may be able to walk a bit of the distance before the park officially opens.

4.) Regardless, they rent electric chairs, which may help for not only catching the parade but also the day in general.

5.) Canada is the nearest country to the main entrance.

6.) Google Maps indicates it’s a 0.4 mile / 8 minute walk from Spaceship Earth to Canada pavilion. In my experience with their estimated walking times, it presumes a pretty decent clip and no crowds to zig-zag through.

Beyond this, I think but am not positive that the band parades end around the International Gateway entrance to the park. So based on your particulars, showing up at the finish line as opposed to the starting line could buy you a couple of extra minutes.

Hope March 7th is a special day for your family!

Thank you for replying and the advice. Yes, I have been to the park several times, but not with present walking disability. The last time we rented a wheelchair, it took 45 minutes to rent. With our tight time limit to the parade, that is not an option. Does Epcot let you in before 9am? They used to drop the rope around 8:30-8:45.

Do you know which direction they’ll be going? Canada to Mexico? If you know which direction they are going, that might help you to catch them along the way.

Parade is Canada to America. Just hoping to walk straight through to the lake in time to see him. We are staying off property, so we will be arriving from the parking lot.

You can clear entry into EP before 9am which you will need to do to have a chance. You will be held inside the park (I think near the front?) until 9am with the crowd looking to rope drop Remy from the front if aiming for Canada, with the Frozen crowd if aiming for Norway. You can research out where they’re holding general rope drop crowds these days although they do shuffle it around.

I think you dismissed the scooter too quick. Look into what time ECV rentals open at EP and if you can access them without EE. Could be you can use that EE time (or more if they open before EE) getting an ECV.

We were at Epcot yesterday. It was pretty darn busy with a lot of kids on vacation. We did have early entry and got there about 8:30am. By the time we cleared the ticket scan-in area, it was around 8:40. The stroller / scooter desk is open during early entry. It is before you get to the early entry rope, so anybody with valid park admission can access it before 9:00 am park open.

We rented a stroller, which is the same desk as scooter rental. The couple ahead of us got to the desk about 15 seconds before us and they were renting 2 scooters. From the time we walked up to the time we had a stroller in hand was about 4 minutes. They were already getting settled into their scooters by then.

Obviously every day is different, lines are always different, staffing is different, etc. but, if you get to the scooter rental at 8:30am, even if takes 45 minutes that day to get a scooter, that still affords 10 minutes to get to Canada pavilion. Those things go faster than I can walk.

Whatever ya’ll decide, hope it’s a great day for the family!

I would aim to get to the park before the 8:30 early entry as they start letting people in through the tap styles to queue up for the 8:30 early entry (they will check your MB/KTTW card before letting you queue up. But the stroller/wheelchair rentals is open before 8:30. Get there early so you cannot rent a scooter and then queue up for regular park opening and you should hopefully make to Canada in time.
