We loved the Universal hotels. I honestly think they are better than Disney Deluxe hotels and cheaper! We stayed at the Royal Pacific but hopped to the other 2. Just gorgeous.

We also enjoy Universal and IOA. We can do both parks in a day or two, with a FOTL pass, but they have incredible rides. They beat Disney on technology hands down. Spiderman is one of the coolest rides ever. Shrek is fun, so is Jimmy Neutron, and Mummy is awesome.

For dinner we had Arbys. We got in late from shopping and didn't feel like dirtying dishes again. had coupons so it was $11 to feed 3 adults. Not too bad!
It's great to hear things like this, because I'm thinking of buying tickets for our 2008 trip. I love Disney but we got for 2 week vacations so I think I can spare some time exploring different theme parks.

I always hear some awful things about Universal on the DIS, and it's had me sort of backing out of my plans. I think I'm going to actually buy the tickets though, even if we don't like it we at least tried.

I know your post wasn't directed towards me, but thanks anyways. You've helped!

Hi Y'all,

Sorry I haven't been on to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

That funny feeling in my tummy, turned into a fullblown stomach virus Wednesday morning. Yeah the day I've got to get all my cooking done. Thankgoodness my nurse SIL had some meds that she came give me to stop it all up for a little while.

Late Wednesday evening I managed to get the cooking done & even two pies. I went with Glynis's Pies! The Hello Dolly Pie which was decantly delish very rich & just super yummy, & the Eggnog Pumpkin which Tasted like a pumpkin pie, but a very very good pumpkin pie!. Thanks Glynis for those recipes, they made me look like I slaved in the kitchen when I really didn't! :goodvibes

that came out better than ever this time! I kicked up a notch with the addition of bacon & swiss cheese.

Forgot pics of sweet potatoe casserole though & I know y'all have all seen roast.

Now to the reason I'm awake tonight. Of course on Thanksgiving I had to eat, even though my stomach felt weird, but man It's Thanksgiving & everybody worked so hard on the food! Made it all day, felt bad again last night. Work up this morning feeling really good didn't eat any breakfast & Bob wanted to go to a friends LSU party. They had nothing offered to eat but Chili, so I drank coke most of the day & felt fine. Well after our dissappointing loss, I succumbed to eating a bowl of chil. :sad2: Noo, I've never claimed to be very smart did I!

Wendie, I'm so sorry about your Grandma! Thank God it wasn't much worse & that she is doing well! Prayers being said for a quick recovery & a big :grouphug: for her being such a strong person!

Sheryl

Today we are going out somewhere after we run our Saturday errands.

WFD at your house?

ETA: Our Pirate Day went great, with a little twist. Robin and my BIL, Kevin, each expressed an interest in each other to my husband and I. So I helped them out by getting the ball rolling for them. Long story short, they are going out today.

Late Thanksgiving Day, they met for a movie. After the movie, they stayed for another one (and yes they paid!). Then went out to eat. Kevin said he didn't get home until after midnight. Cool, eh?

Well good grief, I am dying to know what happened on that date because you should have seen them yesterday!!!!! You'd have thought my house was Alaska and we had no heat!! They were curled up on my couch snug-as-a-bug than I have ever seen anyone! Yowsa! They left around 12:30 this morning and my Scott and I turned to each other and both said, "What the heck was that all about?!" :lmao: They sure starting digging eacho ther quick!

Thanks Aimee! We're getting really excited!!

We felt the same way, we've got 12 days and two teens (DS & GF), so trying something new was in order. I'll be sure and let you know what we thought!

Sounds like they're a good match, that was quick!

Sheryl - Sorry you haven't been feeling well, but girlfriend, you can sure whip up some awesome looking stuff when you're sick!!!!!:thumbsup2

Just checked in with the airline and printed our boarding passes - now I know it's real and getting closer by the minute.:cool1: I'll be around today doing some last minute packing, dropping off my furbaby at my friend's house. We're going to have to try to get to bed early tonight, gotta get up at 3:30 AM.:scared:

No cooking today, probably turkey sandwiches, gotta remember starting tomorrow it'll be lots of food and drinks!!!!

Sheryl Those pies look so good. I agree I am amazed you felt like cooking when your stomach wasn't 100% I have a hard time even smelling food.

No cooking for me tonight we have a birthday party later. Besides we have leftovers. I love leftovers.

Kathy I want to be somewhere warmer can I come with?

Lindsay Sounds like you made a match. I hope it lasts.

We are going to MILs today for her bday. She is cooking. Chicken parm...which she makes REALLY good. :)

Kathy and Gretchen...have a blast! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Remember to have one of those drinks in France!

Lindsay, I was wondering yesterday if something was up...glad things are working out with BIL and Robin...

Sheryl, great pics! Care to share the recipe for spinach/artichoke? Hint! :)

Have a great day all!

Well, we're NOT having turkey today- we're having swedish meatballs over noodles... one of my dh's favorites. I guess I'll take the rest of the turkey and make a turkey pie.... that's easy to "heat as you eat"...
Doing a little Christmas decorating today... I hate getting the stuff out of the attic though... it's like a "half attic" and you can't stand up straight... kills my back.

Happy Saturday All--

My gram is doing really well, boy is she something else, lol. She had an appt with her dr. for Monday before her fall, so this will work out well as he will take a look at it, and see how it is doing. I am anxious to hear what he says. He will also take out the stitches on Thursday. She thanks you all for thinking of her, (as do I!!) and she wants to let you all know that all of you are in her heart. She is just the sweetest lady. She called my mil and apologized for missing her dinner. At least my mil has the common sense to say the right thing to her!

Lindsey--I just love this new development, you and Scott are now in the matchmaking business, keep us posted on how this all goes! I can just picture your faces after they left, lol!

Sheryl--I wondered where you were, I am so sorry to hear that you have not felt very well. I hope you are feeling better now. Quite the way to break in that new toilet of yours, ;) I have to agree that you are pretty amazing to put on the spread you did with the way you were feeling though!!

Gretchen/Kathy--have a blast and a safe trip! Can't wait to hear all about your trips and meetings!

Mermaid--have a fun day decorating, I am not missing it this year one bit. It isn't the putting it up that is bad, it is taking it all down and putting it all away afterwards....sort of like unpacking after a disney trip, lol!

Dinner tonight is going to be the turkey burgers we never had last night. We ended up eating leftover chinese.

Have a great day friends!!:)

Just to give you an idea, they were chatting, just chatting, when we went on our WDW trip. Our trips overlapped and we met up with her @ Beaches and Cream and then went to MGM. Here is a picture of us. Me and Scott are on the right, Robin and Kevin are on the left.

I noticed they looked a wee bit smitten back then!! LOL!

Lindsey---I think you are quite right!! What a great picture of the 4 of you!! You and Robin look like you could be sisters!

BTW--I love the color of your shirt on you!! It looks wonderful with your hair and skin tone!

Good morning all! We are having leftover appetizers, and I'm going to make those 3 recipes I didn't get to on Thanksgiving.

We have big plans to put the tree up and decorate, but we also feeling real lazy so let's see if that happens =)

Nice pies Sheryl! I can't make pie crust at all.

We are having some fish for dinner tonight. I am hoping to find some of the bay scallops, but if not I might just make baked haddock.

Aimee, I am thinking about putting up my tree too...I think I might be too lazy though! :rotfl:

Kathy I want to be somewhere warmer can I come with?

I'd love it if you could!

Kathy and Gretchen...have a blast! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Remember to have one of those drinks in France!

I'll think of you my friend while :drinking1 !!!

Gretchen/Kathy--have a blast and a safe trip! Can't wait to hear all about your trips and meetings!

Will do, I'll be checking in on y'all, so behave! Never mind.....:rotfl2:

Am I the only one who has to have a clean house and all of the laundry done before leaving????? I'm exhausted already!

Kathy you are going to think I am so dense...are you heading down to the world soon? Did I miss something? I can be a little forgetful sometimes...;)

Kathy you are going to think I am so dense...are you heading down to the world soon? Did I miss something? I can be a little forgetful sometimes...;)

I just took my ticker off this morning, it gets depressing when it starts going the other way. Yep, we're leaving very early tomorrow morning for 12 wonderful days at BWI!!:cool1:

Kathy- you are not alone on needing things clean before going on vacation.
Laundry done, house dusted and vacuumed, dishwasher emptied, beds changed, etc. I love coming home to clean sheets on the bed!! Somehow no matter how much I clean before we go, it looks like elves come in and party while we are gone! This year we have no cats being left home alone to run wild through it, as we lost both to illness this year, so that should make a huge difference, though to have my cats back I would take the mess!

I hate the big pile of mail to sort through we we get back too!!

You must be soooo anxious at this point counting down hours not days!!:)

I think I'm in the homestretch now. Last load of laundry is in the dryer.

This is my first time traveling with a laptop, do y'all carry on or pack it in your checked bag?

I'm making Giada De Laurentiis' Quick and Spicy Tomato Soup, but I'm changing the recipe, a lot. It's going to be more like spaghetti (ditalini actually) and meatball soup. I saw her make it on Everyday Italian the other day and thought it looked good, except I don't like spicy and I thought it would be better with meatballs, in which case I'll leave out the cannellini beans. So I guess it's really not her recipe anymore.

Kathy ~ Have fun on your vacation! :woohoo:

I like to have the house clean before we leave too. It's just too depressing to come home to a mess (or clutter) after a nice vacation. You have all the vacation laundry to tackle... that's enough for me!!

Have a great time.... the high here in Maine was 27* today.... think of us while you're there!!
