Y'all are killing me with the snow talk, it sounds so holidayish, is that a word? Y'all know what I mean. It's 80 degrees and my A/C is running right now.:sad2:

It's a blustery day here. Looks like we might get a snow flurry or two tonight.

Thanks for all your sweet comments. It really helps to know that I can come here and tell you guys my troubles, and you will support me through it. It looks like the funeral will be next Wednesday, so I can enjoy my Thanksgiving without having to drive anywhere. I have been asked to play my violin at the funeral, so I guess I'll have to dig it out of mothballs, and get my bow restrung. Hope it can be done before next Wednesday!

Dinner tonight will be chicken in creamy gravy with brown rice and corn. Kind of a blah meal, but it's kind of a blah day.

I did make the pizza meatloaf muffins last night. I stopped at Albertson's to pick up some pizza sauce, and when I got it home, I noticed that the seal was popped on the jar, and there was a layer of black fuzz around it. ICK!!!!! I ended up making my own pizza sauce with tomato sauce, Italian seasoning and garlic. It was still really good!

Glynis, You play the violin?! That is nice that you will be able to play for the funeral, it will make it special.

I'm sure your pizza sauce was probably better than the packaged one! I thought I had decided to make a Bourbon & chocolate Pecan Pie, but then I saw your Hello Dolly Pie Recipe! Man does that sound yummy! Thanks for posting it!

Becky, While I was looking at recipes, I just saw your oysters & seafood packets from the weekend! Yummy!!! Those packets look really delicious!

And Lucas, that soup recipe sure sounds good too! Thanks I'm gonna try that soon!

Glynis--Kris' grandfather plays the violin as well. When he needs it restrung in a hurry and the music shop is backed up, he has had the music teacher at the local schools do it for him, they are always more then happy to help a fellow music lover!!
I am glad that you can have your Thanksgiving. Bittersweet I am sure.
I too love ketchup on my eggs!! (syrup...I will have to try)

Sheryl--What a gorgeous bathroom!! I LOVE the rain head! (and yep your toilet is pretty....now that isn't something I say every day)
What an improvement on the kitchen light!

Thanks Wendie, I like my toilet too! :lmao: Another one sentence you won't hear too often! :rotfl:

Lucas's Spanish Soup sounded so good, and my tummy was feeling a little off, so that's what I'm having for dinner!

Sheryl You have a few people were I work envious of your bathroom.

Glynis I so sorry for your loss. It is a rough time of year.

Kathy We are expecting a little bit of snow tomorrow too. I can't wrap my brain around the thought you still have your air on.

It's very misty and foggy here not a great night to be out. Glad I'm home.

Stephanie I hope for you your kids get over the eating issues. I was lucky with Alex he ate everything when he was little. Once he hit school age He decided he was allergic :confused3.

I forgot since it's just me tonight I having a little this and a little that don't tell Alex. I'll try to make it healthy.

I hope you like it. It is spicy but we love it like that. In fact, I made it again last night and tonight we had leftovers. This time I didn't toast the noodles and it still came out great.

I made them a big one tonight... Chef BoyArdee Pizza. OMG they are so lucky (make them appreciate Thanksgiving even MORE!!) ;)

I'm finally gonna start my thanksgiving cooking today.
My DD & SIL are having a great time in France! It's cold & rainy but sounds like they are loving it anyway!

I saw your menu on the $42 thread. That would not have covered your beef, let alone anything else! With all of your offerings you really do need to start early :thumbsup2.

How did i miss that your DD is in France????? SHe really did need a get-a-way, didn't she? So glad she and your SIL are having a good time.

Your bathroom looks like a magazine! I love it but I gotta tell you I cannot get past that great ceiling fixture! I have never seen anything like it! It looks so cool!

I hope that your violin can be done in time. For such an important event I'm sure that the store (?) will put a rush on it. Your music is going to be a wonderful gift that you send to your Grandmother.

Your soup is in my file for DD and me to enjoy. I am saving it for a weekend so we can both have it.

Sounds like our dinner :rotfl:We had dino nuggets, fish sticks, fries corn and left over green beans.

I'm glad you'll be able to enjoy your Thanksgiving. Remember I'm here if you need me.

You continue to amaze me. You have what I think is the perfect family, you are an amazing mother and cook and now you tell me you play the violin?:worship: :worship:

Glynis -- My condolences on the loss of your grandmother. It is so wonderful for you to play violin at the service.

Sorry I haven't been posting the past couple of days. Life has been busy. Anyway, we had homemade sausage pizza last night, and tonight, after discovering that my favorite fish counter is closed for the season, we went out to eat.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone if I don't get to check back in. We have a busy day tomorrow.

Really?! You showed some people & they liked it? That is too cool! :goodvibes

lucas & everyone else, This soup rocked! Very spicy which we like but very different than most soups & it was super easy!

Nancy, The good thing is my Mom is hosting at her house this year! Because of all of the remodeling, I had told her I might have trouble managing it all. I told her last week, that I could do it, but she said she wanted to do it, since we were going to have a smaller crowd this year. So she will cook the turkey & stuffing, my brother & SIL will do the gumbo & potato salad, my uncle will bring probably a shrimp or fish dish. I'm only cooking the roast, spinach-artichoke casserole, the sweet potatoes & a pie. Or maybe two pies, I'm torn between Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie & Glynis's Hello Dolly pie. DH is voting for Glynis's pie!

I don't know if I had mentioned on this thread taking DD & SIL to the airport on Saturday. Maybe I forgot. Remember this is actually part of her MBA program! Isn't that a cool way to finish school. They are visiting some businesses & attending some lectures. BUT the business yesterday was a Cider Farm which after the visit, they were served dinner. She emailed & told us that everything was cooked with apples & they were served cider & Calvados! Sounds like tough schooling doesn't it! Today they were going to visit the D-Day beaches! :goodvibes

p.s. I found that light at Home Depot a couple of weeks ago. It was only $120! I've been hunting for months for the right thing & then saw that in an ad!

This is priceless, this is on the WFD thread!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

What's for Dinner & Potty Talk! Who knew they could go together?! :rotfl:

Kathy, Lauren must be busy cooking. And hopefully she didn't cave in and go on a mad cleaning craze!

Glynis, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sheryl, I love the rain head in your shower. I want one of those!

Dinner has not been exciting the past couple of nights. DH has had work dinners so it's just me. Plus, I have been repainting one of our rooms after work. Why would I decide to repaint a room right before Thanksgiving and our Disney trip? I have no idea. Anyway two of the walls are now done, and the color looks very nice. Of course, now I want to repaint the whole house... :rolleyes1

Because of my time constraints, I just made this sandwich and these fries and ate half yesterday and the other half tonight. The "fries" are actually oven baked and they are tossed with fresh rosemary, garlic, and parmesean cheese.

Lauren - Where are you?????????

Kathy, Lauren must be busy cooking. And hopefully she didn't cave in and go on a mad cleaning craze!

I'm here! Thank you for looking out for me!!!

Sheryl, you were close...I was cleaning alot and Andrew was home sick today. I took him to the Dr and its the start of an ear infection and URI...

Sheryl, your bathroom looks amazing...enjoy it! I also LOVE your light. How cool is that???? :thumbsup2

Anyone else see Michael Flatley on DWTS? He and his troop were great! I have admired his dancing since he was a cutie with Riverdance...anyone remember that blonde curly hair?

OK, now, of course since I was not on all day, I am totally lost. I hope everyone is well.

Playing the violin was kind of a legacy. My mom and her sister bought a 3/4 size violin, and since all the girls in the family are "stair steps", the instrument was handed down. As we all grew, we got our own violins. There are 4 of us, and we'll all be playing Pachalbel's Canon at the funeral. I enjoy playing. It really relaxes me, and I like the feeling it gives me.

I hope you enjoy the Hello Dolly pie. It's quite like the Derby pie. Very easy to make, but tastes like you worked for hours.

I hadn't even thought about the music teacher. Hmmm, there are 3 schools in our area. I'll be making some calls in the morning. Thanks for the suggestion.

I can't believe I found a fellow ketchup on scrambled eggs lover! I am not alone!!!

Thank you. It is rough, but I'm surely glad she's out of pain.

We have a cold front moving in. Our high tomorrow is expected to be 39 degrees. Thanksgiving should be a balmy 40!!! I think I'm glad I'll have the oven on!
