Tonight it's leftover meatloaf and smashed potatoes.

WFD at your house?

ETA: Yes, it is 3:45 a.m. I have not slept at all tonight. I finally gave up and just got up.

Good morning!

Aimee - I hope you're feeling better today.

WFD tonight - Cajun pork tenderloin with garlic butter, smothered potatoes and green beans.

My allergies have me beaten down really bad and I'm afraid it'll evolve into something more. I am so miserable I just want to curl up in bed and sleep.

Aimee, Hope you're feeling better!

Just wanted to stop in a say Good Morning! I am not cooking anything major tonight. We had chicken tenders, noodles and corn last night. Maybe some sort of pasta tonight.

Have a great day all!

Stephanie, Hope the kids are feeling better!

Thanks all for the well-wishes for my kiddos. DS seems to be doing better this morning--I think half his problem is that Grandma let him have whatever he wanted this weekend to eat/drink--so now we're sort of detoxing!;) DD is still hacking away, but she's ready to go to school today--SO I guess that means she's doing better as well

Lori--Hmmm, so are you stalking me or am I stalking you???????;) :rotfl: I hope you have a wonderful trip--We'll be in Epcot on Sat. and MNSSHP on Sunday.

What's wrong? Anything I can help with? You're welcome to fly out here and let me take care of you today!

Dinner tonight will be tacos. Nothing spectacular, but my son requested them. Since he's my only little guy, I like to indulge him when I can! I kind of feel for him, as he's the lone boy in a house full of girls! He seems to handle it ok, though!

Here is one of the french toast recipes I promised. Sorry I forgot until now! I'm still looking for the toffee apple recipe.

Strawberry Banana French Toast
Yield: 8 servings

5 eggs, beaten
3/4 C. milk
1 Tbsp vanilla
1/4 tsp. Baking powder
1 loaf French bread cut into 8 1-inch slices
1 pkg. (16 oz) frozen whole strawberries
4 ripe bananas, sliced
1 C. sugar
Cinnamon sugar

Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and baking powder. Pour over bread to soak; turn to coat well. Cover. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix frozen strawberries, bananas and sugar in a 9 X 13-inch baking dish. Top with soaked bread slices. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Ok. Now I'm jealous. I have always wanted to do a PFTS, but we haven't been able to make a trip during F&W. Kenny keeps promising me a Bday trip one year, but so far, no luck. Please be prepared to answer a million questions about it when you get back.

Aimee hope you get to feeling better.

Sandy good to see you again.

Glynis my brother was the lone boy in the house, and the youngest to make matters worse. We didn't kill him and he actually said he came out of it with a better understanding of women than most of his friends. My sister and I tried to train him right. :rotfl:

Kathy doesn't all this talk about trips get you anxious for the end of November? :goodvibes

Dinner tonight is Lauren's braised pork chops with rice and steamed veggies. Last night we ended up doing the Bubba Gump style shrimp but I went a little too heavy on the cajun seasoning for the kids. Ooops. So tonight I figured I would make amends by making one of their favorites.

Have a great day everyone. I hope everyone's sick kiddos get to feeling better.

This looks yummy! Thanks. I love french toast recipes, especially the ones I can make before bed.

Ok, my friends. I need some help, advice and input!

My family started a tradition several years ago that takes place the night before Thanksgiving. We realized that we always ate so much food during Thanksgiving dinner, that we couldn't enjoy the pie that always showed up for dessert. We decided to set aside the night before Thanksgiving for "Pie Night." We gather together at my SIL's house (last year we had 75 people there), and every family brings at least 2 pies. (I started the tradition, so I usually try to bring 4 or 5). We slice them into small pieces, and everyone spends the next couple of hours sampling pie, visiting, singing, laughing, etc. It has become such a fun thing!!! My nieces and nephews now are getting into the swing of things by making pies of their own. I've spent many hours every November, teaching how to make graham cracker crusts, how to do certain fillings, etc. I love it, as I get to know my family a little better with this one on one time.

So, with the realization that it's coming up on Pie Night, I'm looking for some tried and true recipes. I always make my Pecan Pie (it's absolutely the best in the world, and I've tried many different varieties), but I like to branch out with at least 2 new pies. I'm coming to you to ask for your favorite pie recipes, or not even recipes. Just give me a name, and I'll google recipes.

Thanks in advance!!!

No problema! This will be our first. We've always had a great time just at the booths we never thought about Party for the Senses. But after we had friends go last year and Sheryl's stories we decided to treat ourselves and go this year. I'm hoping it's worth it- cause I can buy alot of good food and booze at the booths for the schill we're spending on it. :lmao: And for the booths nobody cares if I'm "dress casual"- I can swill my wine in my natural setting of cargo shorts, flipflops, and a tee!:rotfl2:

Ok Gretchen, I found the notes I made after last year's stuffing. This is affectionately known as the "Stove Top won't do?!? You want freakin' oyster dressing?!?" recipe.

2 boxes cornbread StoveTop made with stock intead of water(I used chicken, but anything would be ok.

1 Lg onion

1 tin smoked oysters, with juice

1 can regular oysters drained

2 cloves worth of garlic, or more if you like it like us

Make dressing per box, subbing stock for water. Chop onion coarsely. Saute onion and oysters in olive oil (with a little bit of butter)-just to soften onion and take out the "raw" taste and heat through the osyters to release some juices. Add oil from the smoked oysters. Swish around and dump everything along with the Stove top into a casserole. Put in the oven to warm and brown.

Turned out better than I thought it would so I wrote it down. Easy to do and Rick got his freakin' oysters!:lmao: Actually, I think if he could have gotten by with it he would have licked the casserole clean by himself.

We're having pork tenerloin(one of those prepackaged marinated things) Sun dried tomato I think. Also baked sweet potatoes, portabellas, and something green....salad maybe.
