When I went to school for Ross' first day of K (we followed the bus) all the kids were crying, and holding onto parents legs, and Ross spotted us across the room, walked over and I thought for sure, "oh my baby needs me" NOPE.... he put his hands on his hips, looked up at us, and in a serious way said "You may leave now thank you" and turned and walked off........I walked out of there in a combo of tears and laughter

I would have tried it and the only thing worse than springing a sweet protein that goes well with rice on Buddy (you all know how he wants PLAIN MEAT>>>PLAIN POTATOES>>>) would be a bad sweet ricey dinner :lmao::lmao:

:rotfl: You two have the kids wondering what the heck Mom is laughing about in here.

We're having dinner with Becky and my parents today. I think linguine and clams is on the menu -- if my dad gets his way -- but I haven't heard confirmation on that yet. Right now, I am sitting around waiting to hear if Liam's soccer game is canceled. It's rather dreary and wet, but it doesn't look like it is actually raining at the moment. If they play, I think Caili and I will be sitting in the car.

It is freezing here at night too and I hate it...I hate wearing warmer clothes and regular shoes...I am a flip flop girl...guess its time for crocs with socks!!!

Oh boy, I'm in for it. Andrew has been experimenting with teenage attitude lately...:scared1: testing his boundries I guess.

I do crocs with socks too!:rotfl: :rotfl: The teenage attitude, so I've been told, doesn't stop until around 19 or 20.:scared1:

Oh my luck finally went dry. I was dising earilier eating a jelly belly (my fav) and one of my back teeth came out. Luckily it was one the had a root canal already so no pain. Good thing it didn't happen on vac.

Still no pain, I hope?

It's Friday, so here is a drink! Tequlia sunrise:

YUMMO!!!

Kathy--I can not even imagine Senior picture time........Ross likes to inform me that he will be a sr in 8 years..........he doesn't understand just how fast those 8 years will go............I think I will spend most of his senior year in tears at all the last firsts.....(the last first day of school the last first football game etc etc)........I hope you do get the scanner figured out...I for one can not wait to see the pictures of your handsome boy!!

Laura--It does help for sure when they enjoy going off to school........When I went to school for Ross' first day of K (we followed the bus) all the kids were crying, and holding onto parents legs, and Ross spotted us across the room, walked over and I thought for sure, "oh my baby needs me" NOPE.... he put his hands on his hips, looked up at us, and in a serious way said "You may leave now thank you" and turned and walked off........I walked out of there in a combo of tears and laughter......and so it began, lol.........
Ross promised me he would never get big.........now he just says I can't help it, lol.

OK, got the scanner all figured out! Now I just hope I remember what to do when I get the pics on Monday!

I love that story, too funny!!!:lmao:

We all enjoyed the roast beef poor boys I made a few weeks ago. so we're doing them again tonight with Becky's frites, which are sooooooo yummy!!!

I made the blueberry muffins recipe this morning except I made it into blueberry coffee cake. Really tasty.

I saw a recipe for meatball pie that I think we will be have tonight this one has potential. I'll let you all know if it is a keeper.

Laura is right, we are having linguini with clam sauce, crusty bread, and a salad for dinner tonight. It's really dreary here today, so this will be a good match for the weather.

Laura you need to update your signature...Caili is 6 now. ;)

Good luck with your dinner Lindsay, let us know how everything tasted.

Nancy, you cracked me up with your descriptions...bad sweet ricey dinner...I don't think my DH would like that either! :rotfl:

Taking a quick break preparing to report in. I made a pitcher of virgin margaritas and boy are they good!!!!!!!!!!! I did 1/2 oz. each of lime juice and orange juice, and 1 1/2 oz. of sweet and sour mix. I adjusted the quantities, of course, to make a whole pitcher instead of by the glass. I've got the glasses in the fridge, lime-rimmed and dipped in sugar!

I couldn't find any Manchego cheese, so I decided to do a mix of mozzarella and smoked mozzarella for the top of the lasagna. I think it will be good.

Well I'm off to go change clothes and start a'cookin. Company will be here at 4.

ETA: My husband laughed at me, but look for pics of my dinner in the morning. I've prepared so much for this that I want pics for the record, LOL!

Evening all--

Lindsey- I can not wait to see your pictures of this Fiesta!!!! I am sure you all had a fun time!! Thank you for posting the snickers pie recipe!

Nancy--I loved your buddy comment on the orange chicken!!! I had a good chuckle over that one my friend :) Your roast sounds delish!!

Janice--I hope that you have better results with the meatball pie then the orange chicken...great idea with the blueberry muffins too!

Papa---Glad to see you around these parts....post often with us!!

Lauren--I hate socks too...I will stay in my flip flops until my toes start to turn blue....which is mighty soon here in Maine!!! I also am a card carrying member of the crocs in socks club;)

One margarita with Kris last night turned into (ahem) quite a few with Kris and our neighbors who stopped over.....we had a great time sitting around the firepit out back and drinking and laughing, and drinking....until I woke up this morning, and realized that the joke was on me, lol. It didn't help that it was pouring out, and that always triggers my migraines.
On this note.....Supper is pizza and salads from our favorite pizza place...and they will deliver!!

Hope you all have had a wonderful Saturday!! I am off to find my friend pepto bismol, lol.

Wendie- hope this finds you feeling better.

I cleaned the basement today and then took the truck to be washed....I usually do the interior myself and I do the exterior a lot.....but that is one big boy and it was worth the charge and the tip to get the worst of it done. I finished it that way I like it when I got home but by then Risa was in charge of dinner. We had KFC :lmao:. DH is trying to get her to sign up for a class :lmao:, he is offering to pay :scared1:..she is laughing as we speak becasue she is :woohoo: him :crazy2:. Now it is clear once again that no one wants my job :coffee:.

Ok we finally have a winner. The tex-mex meatball pie is definitely a keeper.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 3m thumbup for Ease, ease and oh yes ease I'll post the recipe as soon as I stop stuffing my face

Ok here is the recipe

Tex-mex meatball pie
1 Pillsbury refrig pie crust from 15oz box softened
18 frozen meatball 1" thawed
1 c frozen whole kernel corn
3/4 c salsa
3/4 c shredded cheddar cheese
1 c shredded lettuce
1/4 c sour cream

heat oven to 375 unroll pie crust on ungreased cookie sheet. place meatballs in center. In small bowl mix corn and 1/2 c salsa. Spoon salsa mixture onto meatballs. Fold crust over filling and ruffle edges ( crostata) bake 30-40 min sprinkle with cheese and bake 3-5 min longer. Top with lettuce and sour cream drizzle with remaing salsa. Serve immediately.

I used the refrig pie crust and tastefully simple corn and black bean salsa, Costco meatballs. This was amost as easy as carry out.

It's leftover Mexican lasagna and Spanish rice for us tonight!

WFD at your house?

ETA: As promised, here are the pics. The lasagna rocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe how easy it turned out to be and how delicious it was! Here you go!
