So, the bread. That bread is my "cheaters garlic bread" and it is really simple. We have a special name for it but it's a little goofy so I can't put it on here. All I do is slice bread, then microwave half a stick of butter, stir in a teaspoon of garlic powder, salt and pepper, then distribute that equally. Top the bread with thinly sliced mozzarella, and for extra salty yumminness, thinly sliced haloumi, then bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes, until the cheese is browning and the bread is toasty.
They are healthier than fried salted russet potatos, right?
I have my Dr. appt with my orthopedic to get the MRI results from my wrist this morning, and figure out what we do next, then Ross has rec this afternoon, and karate demo team practice this evening.
Hey all! Our weekend trip to Branson was fun. The food was nothing to write home about, but we had a great time.![]()
Hi All,
I went for my biopsy this AM...I am a little sore right now but wanted to say hi.
I think we will be doing OMaha grilled chicken kabobs, rice pilaf and green beans that I did not make yesterday.
Have a great day!
This must be when both you and she wished she never learned to add
Lauren- Take it easy today, glad to know you got that part over with of this whole ordeal you have been going through. hugs sent your way!!

Still not sure really where we are with my wrist issue, though we do know that it isn't TFCC, which is good and bad....good because that would have meant surgery for sure, bad because we are still at a loss of the problem. The MRI showed some fluid and some tendon damage. I will start up (as soon as Ross starts school cause it is easier schedule wise) ultrasound therapy 2x a week for 2 weeks, if that doesn't help it I will need to go see the hand specialist, and see what he thinks. Exploratory surgery might be needed.
This is getting frustrating as I have been dealing with it for a year now, and I am still where I started from...Oh well it could be worse![]()
Sheryl- Your plates show that yo are no slouch in the kitchen! Your meals are put together beautifully .
I looked at the schedule as well and now I wish we could stay longer! There is going to be so much to do! We will probably just tour the countries becasue none of us will leave Kady behind and she would not enjoy the events. We'll see.
I was a SAHM and I got a lot of little comments that would make my eyes fry. Your most precious gifts, entrusted in your care and the you are talked about as if all you do is watch soaps and Oprah!
I did not realize that there was so much involved in your renovation. Your head must spin sometimes.
There is nothing better than a being a SAHN! My DD needs to work as well, she has the best benefits so they do what they need to do. There is something about Nana's and their precious grandchildren that while not the same as Mom, is pretty darn good! We are Nana and Pa to all of the kids and I think it is a wonderful gift for us, we just enjoy and don't have all of eh day to day worries that a Mom and Dad have. Mom and Dad go to work knowing that their children are in hands that love unconditionally.

Dinner tonight will be Roast beef grinders......roast beef, cheese, onions, green peppers, and pizza sauce on bulky rolls hot under the broiler, and then I top them with shredded lettuce and toms.....quick, easy, and sooo yummy!
Hey all! Our weekend trip to Branson was fun.
Oh, and you mean a SAHM doesn't get to sit around and watch soaps and Oprah all day?????Geez!

Glad you had fun! You mean you don't get to watch Oprah?![]()
Kathy, Can you believe Bob chose Crawfish over Red Beans on a Monday?! So tonight is going to be Crawfish something, either pasta or etoufee.
Tonight we are having corn on the cob and a dish of grilled sausages, peaches, red peppers, and onions in a black olive vinaigrette.

Thanks for the food compliments! The only F&W event that Kady might enjoy would probably be the PFTS but wow the cost of that is killer! There are kid stations set up around the park too! Here's a link to some of the things they had for the kiddo's last year.

The bathroom renovation is going to be major! Nothing easy like my little kitchen redo. The worst part is that the cement slab will have to be broken out to move plumbing & make the shower level with the floor for a roll-in. It's going to be quite a mess! Hopefully having Mario here to do it, will help!![]()
This Nana stuff is cool isn't it! A heck of a lot more fun & less stress than being a SAHM, not being ON 24-7 is bonus. Although sometimes I think I could just move her in & be even happier!
Who's Oprah?![]()

Dinner tonight will be quick since it's a skating night. The kids will have sandwiches in the car and I think I am going to make a simple pasta dish with the one tomato I have left from the Farmer's Market for me when I get home. If I'm really hungry, maybe I'll make Becky's cheesy garlic bread too.
See, that's what i mean. I cook sausages and my family gets onions and peppers. Or like last night they also request and get bacon with it. Your family gets peaches peppers onions and a crazy good vinaigrette! You and your sister really need to think about one of those cooking shows, you are that creative!
I am just trying to decide what to cook right now, but I am feeling pretty lazy. I made some half sours this morning and will do something with ground turkey.
I couldn't have said it better, they amaze me. Hey, they could be the next Food Network stars!![]()
I don't mean to sound stupid, but what are half sours?![]()
Half sours are pickles that are cured without vinegar, just salt, pepper corns garlic and dill. I have tried to get them to taste like Buddy's grandmother made them but I can't get it right. I know that she used grape leaves and the heel of a rye bread, and one time that came out okay. His cousin remembered that, but nothing else. He was little and only remembers heading down to the root cellar and snacking on her pickles.
And if the Foodnetwork stars this year were the best of the bunch, our Liams sisters have got it won already, don't they![]()
