No idea what's for dinner here. DH left early this morning. He's helping his mentally handicapped sister and her husband move from their old apartment to one closer to us (we're the legal/financial guardians for them). Later this afternoon, we are going to the viewing for DH's coworker's son. Should be pretty sad. After that, we are going to my cousin's daughter's wedding reception. After that, I've talked DH into visiting our new IKEA to look at children's furniture. It's time to move our 5 year old twins out of toddler beds and into "twin" beds. I'm so excited as I've never been to an IKEA, but hear wonderful things.

Anyway, we're going to try to get some dinner in there sometime. I know my kids will be having tomato soup and sandwiches here with the babysitter, but no idea what DH and I will have. Depends on what's around when we're hungry.

I wish I had a camera...I just made a couple of platters..One has watermelon, Cherries and strawberries with a dip made of yogurt and cool whip.. The other is a deli platter with
Mozzarella with olive oil and fresh basil
Provolone
Proscuitto
Hard Salami
Pastrami.
I got lots of french bread for sandiwitches
.
I also made a greek salad wih peperocinis, Kalamata Olives, and Feta cheese on top and we wil have the salad with some fresh huge scallops on top for dinner,

Hi Y'all,

Don't have anything to say on the cooking front since I've been barred from my kitchen all week. The tiles went down on the floor yesterday, so we couldn't even walk in the kitchen all day yesterday. My backsplash is finally going up today too! Here's a few pics to update y'all.

Wendie, Some of these are just for you! Sorry I couldn't get better shots, I don't know why but he just keeps working & won't keep still for a pic!!

I have a question and a complaint. Where is your fridge through all of this? And your floor looks great-but if you could've aimed down a little more....there's just not enough Marrrrrio rear in that pic!

here's another shot of the backsplash the diamond rosette thingies are in! Still needs to be grouted!

I was really unsure about the floor yesterday, thought it looked more gray than beigey, but I'm in love with the backsplash & I changed the grout to pick up more of the tan/beige than greys, so that should go in this evening!

Lori, My fridge is smack in the middle of my dining room right now! Thought we were going to eat more leftovers last night, but then realized I couldn't get to the microwave. So far this week we've eaten roast beef sandwiches, Wing Zone burgers & Domino's! Ugh I want to cook. I don't think the fridge will go back into today though & I don't know if he's gonna work tomorrow or not. Sorry about the pic, I was trying to be discreet!

Ross is finally done with wrestling....so that is one thing done with for the summer. Today I am busy getting things together for tomorrow as Ross has a tournament in Saco which is about 2hrs away. We usually go down the night before so that we don't have to get up super early, but dh has to work tonight. It is a new customer who is willing to pay a crazy amount to get his dock put in tonight so they have it for the weekend. I am not a good morning person to travel with, but this $ was even enough for me to be willing to get up at 5:30 for, lol.
This afternoon we have to go get a new fridge for my grandmother as hers is not working that great anymore.

Dinner tonight will be ranch pork chops, garlic butter corn on the cob, and rice I will fancy up.

I am laughing pretty hard as I am on the phone with dh and telling him this.....all he could say was poor guy......being stalked nationwide and doesn't even realize it, lol.....DH then asked if this is why the wives are always taking pictures of him doing work as well............................Though I find it more amusing when our customers who are gay take them of him, and he has no idea they are gay until they say something to him.......he has no gaydar at all.

Now that I think about it Marrrio looks sort of like dh ...same build and hair cut..............and dh has tattoos too...........................I am a desperate housewife aren't I???

Sheryl, the kitchen looks great! I wish I could redo my kitchen...or as I call it, "the closet."

I decided what I am making for dinner: seared salmon with corn cream sauce, sugar snap peas, and roasted cherry tomatoes.

Only three hours and 35 minutes until quitting time!

But (ahem) If you look there's no backsplash up when this photo was taken....seems to me Miss Sheryl is holding out all the good photos! Where's the shirtless one?

DH just called- He was awarded employee of the Quarter for this quarter. He gets a BONUS! Which is pretty good since they just "officially" hired him this week! He's been working on a contract basis but signed on as of today. I'll have health insurance again as of Aug 1!!!!!

I just took a break from ironing, Kady is howling like a dog, so this is one sweet treat

We usually go down the night before so that we don't have to get up super early, but dh has to work tonight. Lori, for Rick! And good thing that your getting insurance soon. You don't want me to get started on my opinion of health care, so I'll just say that when Donald died I could not afford insurance. It sucked that there were no groups that I could join and yet my taxes paid into all of the group plans throughout my town. I better stop now before I drive everyone away for the day.


Glynis- your day is making me tired and I am just reading about it. It would take me three days to recover.

It is just DH and me tonight and he wants to work at the farm for a while so we are going to have leftovers from last night.

Just wait until Southern Decadence down here(big gay weekend) Labor Day weekend. Don't know ya'lls views on gay guys but Those pictures will be wonderful. There's beautiful men, that are almost nakked, glistening, and they smell good and can talk about Top Chef and Project Runway......best of both worlds! I don't want to take them home- just look at em, and talk to em, and send them home with some other hot looking man. And I don't want to know any details of what happened.

Sorry, I didn't mean to stir the cooking pot. I was just passing on the link cause I was surprised the DIS even had a Cooking Board. I need to get off the CB more and see what else is out there!
