Has the anti-inflammatory helped at all? Please don't do too much!

Yes, it is helping a lot. I am really just puttering around, my floors need to be washed and I want to clean the driveway but I just look the other way:surfweb:, yup, this is what I keep looking at :lmao:

I started reading thru the tips you sent last night...those are better then the guidebook we got! I'll be packing them in my bag! And please tell Leslie- I always wanted to know where "when pigs fly" came from. I didn't know they had feathers too!:lmao:

Kathy- I think we need to get Marisa in on this monitoring Nancy thing... I think she's too far away to take us seriously. But, I'm thinking we can go over to the disabilities board and copy down some of the wheelchair and ECV rental numbers and PM them to Marisa....;) Maybe if SHE threatened Nancy with them- or better yet! gave them to Buddy to threaten with......yeah, that's the ticket..... and then we can mail sandwich fixins' to Buddy so he won't be punished by the Nana-tized food.:rotfl2: Oh my, I laughed myself to tears with that one.:lmao: :lmao:

And Nancy- Your daily reminder..... Take it easy and stay off that leg! (Once again....sternest face I can muster- then a na-na boo-boo tongue sticking out face):thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I loved the chicken thing too!

Lori- you are hysterical! But so nice. Buddy will be :worship: if he can get "just regular food"
I still have not lived down the lemon and capers he ate :lmao:

Nancy, You tore a ligament???? Oh you poor girl! I'm so sorry to hear about this! (I know I'm out of the loop here!) But I'm really sorry about this, with your trip coming up so soon and all.

If you need any ECV tips, I'm your girl!;) I know, not what you want to hear at all.

But seriously, where will y'all be staying? You might want to consider renting a scooter.

I am glad that you enjoyed your mini vacation, all that good food! You came home to good food though, from what your menu said :thumbsup2

I tore the PTL ( I think that is what it is called) and I have a tear on the meniscus along with some arthritis. We are staying at CBR and we did reserve a preferred location, so I am glad about that. I'll know in a few days how much walking I can do, but I know that the ECV's are there if I need them. After I talk to the therapist I'll have a better idea if I should limit the walking. I hope that I don't need the tips, but I sure will take them if I do! My sister told me not to mess around with this and started muttering ominously about knee replacement :scared1:, knowing full well that I needed to take Bud's cousin because I was afraid that I needed a needle. So I don't want to make it worse.

Thank you all for the great recipes! I made the Velvet Shrimp last night and DH & I both loved!! It's a real keeper! Thanks again!!

Tonight is something with chicken... I have idea what yet, but I'll think of something!

I'm so glad the tips are helpful! Let me know if you have any questions.

Leslie does manage to keep us in stitches most of the time. Either from the funny things she says or the Drama Queen way in which she orders us all around!

Don't think I posted WFD yet. Tonight we'll be having Tater Tot casserole. Nothing spectacular, but the kids will eat it! Gotta love that!

You should have seen her when Kady was born! Gail is a respiratory therapist in the NICU, she was out of state when Marisa was in labor. It did not go well, but IO was not able to get my point across to the Dr how concerned I was especially when the cord wrapped around Kady's throat . Gail got in the car and drove straight to the hospital, started belting out consequences to the baby in medical speak and within 20 minutes Marisa was in the OR!

My Grandma was an expert at life, if nothing overly professional. I grew up with the dire consequences. If I don't wear a helmet (back when they first made them, it seems) I'll wreck and my brain will spill out-they'll have to take care of me the rest of my life. If I don't brush my teeth they'll all fall out and I'll never get married(so if you brush them constantly you'll get more husbands?!?:confused3). You know how it goes.

I went to visit not too long ago, one of the last times, and we had lunch together and she didn't want the stuff they had for her (she was waiting for the snack cart ;) ). I told her if she didn't eat they'd have to hold her down and force feed her (I lived with the dire consequences- now it was her turn). Her response was priceless...... "That's ok. If you haven't noticed the boys here are hotties!":scared1: Excuse me?!?

I brought her perfume and lip gloss the next day.:sad2: Don't tell my Grandpa.

Gretchen -- My condolences to you and your family. Come back when you're ready and you know we'll all be here. :grouphug:

I don't know what's for dinner here yet. I've spent the past couple of hours finishing My Sister's Keeper -- our neighborhood Book Club book and of course the meeting is tonight -- which was good but incredibly sad. I feel worn out from reading it. I guess I had better go see what I can unearth in the fridge.

I went to pull chicken from the freezer and realized we didn't have any left. SO, my last two meals for the week are shot until I get to Costco for more. I did have ground beef so I laid that out and thought I'd run to the store on lunch today and get something but this is the first time I've really sat at my computer since I came in this morning! I just emailed DH and he suggested we just eat out since we are going to Best Buy and getting a new TV tonight anyways.

So it'll be fast food, though I'm pushing towards Panda Express myself.

Now she is my idea of a wonderful Grandma, and I bet Grandpa knows he had one hot Tomata on his hands :thumbsup2

That would have been my first wish tonight as well.

I have some of the French's chicken, a few roasted chicken thighs ( I was afraid there was not enough chicken breast), Becky's roasted curried sweet potatoes, roasted red bliss potatoes for teh unbelievers, and green beans for dinner.

I am not sure how the chicken will turn out. I could not use egg so I used olive oil and the onion crumbs did not seem to stick. I pushed them on top and am hoping for the best.

We ended up at Wendys. Not my fave but DH had chinese for lunch and I didn't know it so we picked from what was in the same shopping center. Their burger and fries isn't too bad.

Then we spent 2.5 hours at Best Buy (2 different ones!) but finally got our TV. What a mess!

Tonight it's Jambasta and roasted garlic bread.

WFD at your house?

ETA: To all of those who posted about being on iron supplements, a question: I am experiencing an odd but well received side effect. Confession time. I am a compulsive overeater. I eat just because it's there. That's why I have trouble with my weight. I've battled with it for many years. Anyway, every since I have been on this iron supplement, it has stopped. My mouth isn't hungry anymore. Basically I just eat when I am hungry. I have dropped a few pounds in the week I have been on it. Pretty awesome, huh? It really makes me wonder if my body was just craving iron all this time and that's why I never could get control over my problem, as hard as I tried.

I haven't lost my appetite or anything. Just my desire to graze all day long.

Has anyone else had this side effect from their iron supplement? I see my doctor again next week to check on this and I will mention it to him. I just wanted to hear it from the people actually taking it.

Good morning everyone!

Tonight we're having the Pork Tenderloin in a Creamy Herb Sauce which is posted here, dirty rice and lima beans.

Have a great day!

Hi All! I am putting some boneless pork chops in the crockpot with cream of mushroom soup, ranch dressing mix and maybe some wine. I'll serve it with rice and broccoli or green beans...I love those green beans that you pop in the microwave in the bag they came in...easy and they taste really sweet too.

Have a great day!

Hello all--
I missed yesterday it seems, lol. I am trying to cram 4-6 weeks worth of errands into this week, and I have meetings at school, and Ross' sports in between it all!!
School is out until next Tuesday starting tomorrow, so Ross will help me get my grandmothers groceries. Kris has surprised me with a quick trip to bar harbor for the weekend. Ross will go to the inlaws. It is sooo sweet of him, and I know we will have a wonderful time, but I really don't have time for this right now...I would never tell him that though, he is all proud of himself for taking me away before my surgery, lol.

Lori--I told Ross about your post asking if I would be dictating for him to type on here for me, and he said "No Way....you all talk waaay to much and I type waaaay to slow", lol!!
Your posts to Nancy have me rolling with laughter, you and I will get along famously in December. I am sure we will be roaring with laughter the whole time.

Nancy--If you can sort clothes by sitting down then go for it, other then that leave it be......everything will be right where you left it, and no harm will come from it having to wait. Your health is what is important right now, we do not want you to do anymore damage to this knee!! Using the scooter might be a good idea while at WDW, that is a lot of walking, and keeping off of it will keep the pain at bay so you can enjoy your trip, and not damage it more.
DO NOT GO CLEAN YOUR DRIVEWAY!! I will pretend that you did not even write that......We will get ahold of Buddy if need be, you know, don't make us tattle on you ;)!!

Lauren- Thank you so much for the link...I will show them to Kris tonight, I am dying to go to the F&W and he might take me for a quick trip next Oct. This might help convince him it is a great idea, lol.

Laura--I somehow missed your post on how Liam made out with his allergies and when reading back saw it. I am so sorry, poor kid. At least you now are aware, and can work from there with it. The great part is that you and Becky are such great cooks, that you will be able to come up with plenty of recipes and ideas that will work for him. How did he do about not being able to go to the sleepover?

Glynis--I will never look at a chicken the same way again, lol!!

Kathy-can you explain what chicory(sp) coffee tastes like...do you make it like regular coffee....I am a coffee lover and have always wondered about this and saw it mentioned in an ealier post.
I also want to thank you again for letting us know about Kenny's dad.
It is a good thing you keep watch over us, we are so lucky to have your caring friendship!!!

Sheryl--welcome back, glad you had such a fun time!

Aimee--We love best buy, ours is 1.5 hrs away so we only get there a couple of times a year when we go to the "city", lol!

I hope I did not miss anyone. I always worry about that, I think of you all, I just seem to miss posts here and there.

I am making glazed meatloaf for supper tonight along with peas, mashed taters, and rice for Ross.

Lauren- I was looking forward to the F&W festival before, but now I wish we were spending more time there. I could eat and drink myself around the world several times over :rotfl2:

Wendie- You know how it is, you see things and they call you. I am really taking it easy, Buddy was pretty irritated last week so I am not looking to get tattled on :rotfl::rotfl: BTW- Easy to tell you work with kids!
You also watch what you do, your surgery is right around the corner so be careful.

I am not sure about dinner yet, I am not hungry so nothing appeals to me.
