How did he do about not being able to go to the sleepover?

He was a little disappointed, but he was more so for his friend. His friend has two older siblings and has been begging to have a sleepover, so Liam was worried his friend would be upset. It all worked out fine though.

I made a batch of paneer (indian cheese) last night, so am probably going to try and make mutter paneer and naan for dinner tonight.

So what time do you want me to show up?

I can't wait to hear everyone's reports on F+W.

My mom made me a whole plate of eggplant parmegian, which looks really good, but I think I am going to save it for tomorrow. Tonight I feel like fried clams, fish and chips and maybe onion rings while watching the Red Sox. GO RED SOX!!

WOW - I go to work for 1/2 day and I missed so much. Sorry if I miss anyone, just slap me!

Wendie - I can't explain the chicory thing because I was raised thinking that was the only kind of coffee there is. I can surely tell the difference when I'm away from home though, regular coffee is just so weak to me.

Aimee - I know what you mean about the responsibility thing. Too bad you won't be able to hang around your hometown a while.

Sheryl - Are you sending Wendie & Nancy Community N.O. Blend? Thanks for trying to explain the chicory too!

Lori - I can't imagine you subdued, I'm really trying, just can't do it! Someone had better get pics of you and the gals in boas with the blinky glasses!!!!!

Gretchen - So good to have you back!! No thanks necessary, that's what friends are for. Thank goodness for the church people sending dinner your way, one less thing for you to think about. When my Mom passed Johnny & Kyle had far too many sandwiches for dinner.

ETA: To all of those who posted about being on iron supplements, a question: I am experiencing an odd but well received side effect. Confession time. I am a compulsive overeater. I eat just because it's there. That's why I have trouble with my weight. I've battled with it for many years. Anyway, every since I have been on this iron supplement, it has stopped. My mouth isn't hungry anymore. Basically I just eat when I am hungry. I have dropped a few pounds in the week I have been on it. Pretty awesome, huh? It really makes me wonder if my body was just craving iron all this time and that's why I never could get control over my problem, as hard as I tried.

I haven't lost my appetite or anything. Just my desire to graze all day long.

Has anyone else had this side effect from their iron supplement? I see my doctor again next week to check on this and I will mention it to him. I just wanted to hear it from the people actually taking it.

Hmmm. Interesting. I take an iron supplement, but can't say that I have experienced what you have. Of course, the gastric bypass has left me with such a tiny stomach, that I'm very rarely hungry. I'll be interested to hear what your doctor has to say!

Kathy- it was the same in my home. If my neighbors had not taken pity on us we would have starved. The few times I thought to cook I almost set the house on fire. Friends really do make a difference.

Change of dinner plans! DH called me and begged for sausage and pepper subs to eat with the game, so that is what I am making. I have these bags of weird potato chips that I got in the package from New Orleans that I'll open to eat with them. One bag is crawfish flavored (???) and the other is key lime flavored.

Glynis!!! Holy Moly my friend...I had the jelly in the mail today and oh my goodness......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......Ross was eating it by the spoonfull! We had to have an afternoon snack of toast and jelly!! Thank you so very much!!

Lori--as others have said PICTURES PICTURES!!! My goodness like Ross doesn't think you are the cats meow already, lol! He loves anything dramatic and over the top funny! He said that Rick needs a pink boa and he should bring his umbrella as you never know when you might need an instant refill.

Good evening! Finally got home from work. What a whirlwind day between work, meetings, funeral, processional... which was so odd. Perhaps I should start a thread on it? Course someone will find a way to flame me over it or argue about it! LOL!

I had Chili's at 5pm on my way back to the office. I just ate chips and queso. I LOVE their queso.

I may get hungry in a bit and eat some leftover chicken cordon bleu casserole!

Tonight we are having Brown Sugar Chicken (it's a crock pot recipe) and Rice Pilaf. I hope it's good- it's a new one for me. I really need to plan ahead more- we are so bad at eating leftovers I need to only cook enough for one meal.

Kathy, yes, they were the Zapps chips:

The key lime ones are "special limited edition" chips. I have to say that they are kind of weird. First of all, they are green and they are also really sweet. The crawtators ones were pretty good though. I think in general I will stick to my favorite brand, Cape Cod, especially the dark russets, yum!

The sausages are chicken ones--al fresco brand roasted garlic flavored. They are pretty good.

I think tonight I am going to make the mutter paneer I planned on doing yesterday.

Good evening! Finally got home from work. What a whirlwind day between work, meetings, funeral, processional... which was so odd. Perhaps I should start a thread on it? Course someone will find a way to flame me over it or argue about it! LOL!

We were supposed to have hamburgers, kielbasa burgers and fries last night by DD and family went for pizza after Kady's dance lesson with one of her little friends. They brought home a pizza for DH and me. I heard that my precious sweet angelic DGD is not the only little girl whose parents are ready to commit unspeakable acts, start drinking and run away from home . It seems that most of the Moms are ready to commit murder before these little ones go to bed!

All DH and I can say is "Justice is so sweet."

We are going to have last nights meal tonight.

Bob is a real tough guy when it comes to broken body parts, he's done it so much! The bone that seperated had to be reattached with a huge pin, which is still in his knee. You can actually see it under his skin, ewww it's gross. They are not going to remove it unless it starts to give him problems. So I'm really glad you won't have to go through all of that!!!

Oh my, poor Bob...I had pins in my feet when I had the double bunionectomy but the dr would not let me see since I would have passed out...I am a baby like that...

So Sheryl.....Can I be like that 10 year old when I see Bob at F&WF and ask to see his pin?!? I'm a sickie like that;

Lori--I must tell the truth and say nope....Ross might be super smart but he has the most immature sense of humor which is why I find him a riot I guess.
As for seeing the pin..I would want to too....I have already told my dr that I do not want a sleeping pill for my surgery, just numb me from the shoulder down, and make sure I can see the tv screen too! I think he thinks I was joking, but I am serious!!

Morning all. Starting to get back into the cooking again. Last night was enchiladas and tonight will be sausage and peppers. DH has been laid up in bed sick for hte past couple days and today I woke up with a nasty head cold. Ugh can't win around here--at least it hit our house before we leave for WDW in 3 weeks!
