Yumm! I make a Polynesian version of this using whole berry cranberry sauce. I use thighs and drumsticks usually because my family prefers them.
I have all of the ingredients on hand so I will be making this soon.
Now I think I will put Chinese food into my Son IL's head :rolleyes1. If you even mention it he is craving it, and it's all I can think about right now.

Ha Ha!...I was just thinking what I am in the mood for...you can always get a little takeout for lunch someday!!! :) I can eat chinese everyday of the week...I think I'll have Singapore Mai Fun tonight...

I'll have to make your recipe with the cranberry sauce...do you think I can use the jellied kind?

Sandy - I'll be keeping your aunt in my prayers. Please update us as to how she is.

Lauren - Happy Anniversary!!

Nancy - Thanks to you and Lauren I'm craving chinese now!!!! Tonight's dinner just doesn't sound all that good anymore.

Hi All!

Glynis, I have a recipe for strawberry soup if you are interested...we serve it as a dessert.

Last night's braised pork chops were a hit! DF said it was the best thing I ever made...he said that the night before too when I made the apricot chicken. :)

We are celebrating our 3 year (dating) anniversary today so we are having chinese take out...yeah!

Yes!!! I would love a strawberry soup recipe! Sounds so yummy! Thanks!

Oh, you make me feel guilty! I want to plan a valentine meal for my DGD but I don't think I would manage 3 meals! I'm going to watch what you make, I diod not see too many dinners that were family oriented, a lot of couple meals though.

I also have Strawberry Soup, probably like FmrCastMbr's. It is from 1900 Park Fare and I bet it is the same one that was served at the Contemporary before it was CG.

We are having leftover spaghetti Stoup and a salad tonite.

I'll try to remember to take pictures of everything!

I'm glad you guys liked the chicken curry!

Zandy, sorry about your aunt. I hope she is OK.

So, we did not have pizza last night. We got home from work, opened the door, and smelled gas! Argh! So, speaking of argh, guess what I did? I ran over and TURNED THE OVEN ON! Yeah, that was dumb. :headache: I then noticed that my kitchen window was open, so went next door to find out what was going on (we live next door to my parents). My Mom told me that she had come over a few hours ago to borrow an egg, and smelled the gas. She realized that one of our oven burners was on, just enough to let gas out, but not enough to ignite. So, she turned it off and opened the window for us. I must have bumped into the burner knob and jostled it from the "off" setting while rushing around the kitchen before work. Pretty dumb, huh? Yep, it was indeed.

So we ended up opening all of the windows and doors to get the smell out. Did I mention that it was about 5 degrees here last night? After all of that, I was afraid to turn the oven on, so no pizza. Instead, we got out my electric griddle and made mini quesadillas—black bean and cheese, black bean, cheese, and bacon, and black bean and the leftover grilled tuna. With salsa, they were pretty good, but not as good as my pizza would have been. :guilty:

Tonight we are ordering Indian food, I think.

Oh my goodness! How very scary!!!

We just had a scary thing happen in my niece's neighborhood. A brand new house, family had only been in it for 2 weeks (mom, 24, dad, 28, and a 18 month little girl). There had been a gas leak in the neighborhood, so all their gas was shut off. The gas man came back to re-light their pilot light. Dad and the toddler were outside, mom went to the basement with the gas man. He lit the pilot, and the entire house blew up. It killed the mom and gas man, injured the little girl pretty badly, but dad wasn't hurt at all. The house was a total loss. There wasn't anything left. I just found out that the little girl died this morning. So sad! Gas scares me incredibly!!!!!

Oh what a tragedy. Gas scares my DH very much as well. During our renovation we had planned on a duel fuel professional range. The problem is that my DH did not understand that when I said duel fuel I meant gas and electric. Well he was a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years and the gas was a no go for us. Whenever I hear about a situation such as the one you know of I am glad that he would not acquiesce.

Thanks Kathy!

Glynis, Here is the recipe...I am glad that everything is OK with the house.

Strawberry Soup

1 16 oz pkg frozen whole strawberries, thawed
1 cup sour cream
1 cup half and half
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tbs white wine

Place strawberries in the blender or food processor, process until well blended. Add remaining ingredientsand mix well. Chill several hours or overnight.

This makes eight 1/2 cup servings.

*You can use 1 pint of fresh strawberries in place of the frozen.

That's really awful. When I was a kid the house two doors down from ours to ours blew up from a gas leak. We were away on vacation and came back to find a hole where the house used to be! Thankfully, the family was not at home when it happened.

No cooking for me tonight--still under the weather. DH took DD out to get her fav-Sonic!

We had the leftover spaghetti stoup..... even though I really wanted Chinese....and it was not a hit. I added chicken to it and cooked Dino Nuggets along with a salad. Now they tell me that they did not care for it the first time. DH says he will eat it until it is gone. Poor guy will be eating it for a week, I made a lot :guilty:.

Does anyone have any really good chinese recipes. Chinese new year is coming up My neighbor and I get together and make some of the food to celebrate. The kids think it is fun.

We are going to my grandmother's house for dinner tonight. She is making a pork roast, steamed vegetables, home grown green beans, and macaroni and cheese. It's a good thing, too. I'm not feeling 100% and the thought of cooking tonight is making me *blech*.

WFD at your house?
