Gretchen, your party sounds wonderful!!! You have me drooling now!!! :)

I will be thinking of all my DIS friends when we are eating cake tomorrow...I have a feeling that we are going to have a hard time deciding what to get...Tom and I have very different tastes when it comes to cake. I wanted to make the Brown Derby Grapefruit Cake for Easter and he said Yuck...he doesn't know what he is missing!

Have a great day all!

Hey All,

I was browsing some WDW recipes and was curious if anyone had tried the Chicken Caesar Pasta at The Crystal Palace. It sounds pretty good and I thought I would check here for some opinions.

Thanks!
Betsy

Last night we had the baked egg dish that I posted here, plus a baguette and a big salad.

I don't know what I am making tonight! I had a tamale for lunch and it was like a belly bomb! I'm not inspired to cook anything, but I don't really feel like going out to dinner either.

I ended up saving the steak for tomorrow...Busy day with Mom..I picked up some sushi at the grocery store and that' what i'm eating

Thanks for all the great recipies...was looking for something to cook tonight different so am going to try the " Ritz Parmesan Chicken". My kids love love love Ritz crackers so I will let you know I they like:thumbsup2 it...

I've never tried it, but if you do please let us know how it is. It sounds great!

Dinner tonight was easy. My 16 year old made her chicken salad (which is very good), cantaloupe, grapes, sliced tomatoes, red potato salad, and some cheddar cheese slices with the fruit. It may be a little early for a cold plate, but it sure was good.

I ate badly but I am on my own for dinner tonight! I got two snack wraps from McDonalds and a coke!! Cooking tomorrow-don't know what yet!

It's lunch and a movie for us today! We are looking at going to the Olive Garden or Jason's Deli. We are going to see "Fracture." I LOVE Anthony Hopkins!!!

WFD at your house?

Not sure--it will probably be kid friendly whatever it is. DH has to be at work tonight at 4 and the kids and I won't be back from a bday party until 5. So we'll see. I'm gonna give the Twist-a-roni recipe posted here a try--and the kiddos love pizza, so maybe that's what we'll do.

It's just spaghetti, salad, and some garlic bread tonight. We have to attend my nephew's birthday party, so I thought I'd keep it simple.

Good Morning-
Yesterday was a hectic day helping my neighbor clean her basement that flooded, and then we had to go to the D.A.R.E. dance two towns over because my ds's karate team was doing a demo at it. So last night we had pizza..yep more take out................
Tonight is going to be grilled chicken breasts with my special spice combo (different every time) with catalina dressing brushed on it, served with coleslaw and potato salad, rolls and butter.

Hmmm better start having an eat out of the freezer month, as it is filled to the brim....noone, I mean nothing would fit in there right now.............

Going to be a beautiful day here today high's in the upper 60's to low 70's!!!!! It hasn't been 70 here since early October!!

Lauren- can't wait to hear all the different cakes you got to taste, mmmmmm!
Gretchen- all the foods sound yummy, what a great time everyone will have!

:rotfl2: :lmao: . I just remembered that I posted a while back that I had to start clearing out the freezer for hurricane season.:rolleyes1

Lauren - I want to hear details, girlfriend!;)

DS has a game at 2 today so I've got Glynis' pot roast in the crock pot and when we get home I'll whip up some mashed potatoes and a side of smothered cabbage.

Have a great day everyone!!

We're having marinated chicken breasts on the grill tonight. I'll roast some potatoes and make a nice salad to go with it. It's so beautiful here today- 2 days in a row with 2 more expected!! Maybe we'll even be able to eat on the deck.

I am very under the weather today...friends came over last night and we had too many bay breezes... :headache:  :headache: I guess I can't party like I used to...:upsidedow

Well, cake tasting was fun...after all the cake we tasted, we went with a yellow cake, custard and buttercream frosting. Very basic but we loved it all...the cake was very moist and the custard was to die for...I didn't care for any of the fruit fillings and I do not like fruit fillings beside peaches (had that for the first wedding so I don't want it again!!!). I really liked the hazelnut filling but DF said he is allergic...:confused3 . The design of the cake is very pretty. It is going to be 4 tiered, square bottom, then round, square and round top...white scroll design on the squares and polka dots with those silver balls on the round cakes. We will then have fresh flowers on the tiers. No cake topper...I am not a cake topper girl.

I never cooked yesterday. We had pizza...not sure what we are doing for dinner tonight but I really want to go to Stewarts and have some greasy food and root beer. Not sure what I did but I lost 6 pounds since yesterday and want to gain some back!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I pulled it together last night and made DH a steak with cilantro-chili butter, plus roasted asparagus, baby carrots, and twice baked potatoes.

Today we are having a mixed grill. We are eating with my parents, my sister, and the kids. Parents and niece are having steaks, DH, sis and I are having grilled cornish hens with mango salsa, and Liam is having...well, I am not sure yet. If he has any say in the matter it will be broccoli and noodles. Sides are going to be sweet potato fries, green beans, and summer squash. Today is the inauguration of the grill, yippee!

Lindsay- can you let us know how the movie was? I also like Anthony Hopkins and would like to see this one.

The Hat- I have room in my freezer if you need space for someone i mean something.

liamsaunt- all I can say is yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

We had leftovers last night. THey were good, but i want something new today. The propane tank is still not filled :furious:so no grilling, and it is gorgeous today, so I am not happy. I'll see what I can toss together :confused3.

I posted this on the New Orleans board too, but figured ya'll are the creative kind too and maybe you could help me out!

DH told me last night he's working in FL in a couple weeks and I get to fly to Orlando and visit for the weekend. (May 5 & 6)

I love my man.

"I'm working FL wanna meet me in Orlando for the weekend?" DUH!

"Where do you wanna stay?" ummm DUH!(again) I know this little out of the way place called DISNEY!

So work's going to pick up the room, we already have AP, and I'm using a free flight from Southwest.

Now I need some help from ya'll- I want to take a romantic/thank god we got some time together/i still love you basket thingie. What are some ideas that I can fly with that are unexpected? I know wine and that kind of stuff, I'm looking for off the wall. TIA

Lori

Gosh, I miss one day & it takes forever to read through four pages of chat!:goodvibes

I have nothing to add, we had take out pizza last night!

Kathy, it was MO's! but I don't think even that compares to your fried green tomatoes!

Lauren, Your cake sounds really pretty & yummy too! I think the flowers will be pretty too! Most of the brides these days seem to have gone with flowers on the cakes instead of the toppers. So that just means you're on the cutting edge of wedding design!!!

If I cook anything this weekend it will be on the grill, we are having some beautiful weather here in the Deep South!

Have a great weekend, Y'all!
