I posted this on the New Orleans board too, but figured ya'll are the creative kind too and maybe you could help me out!

DH told me last night he's working in FL in a couple weeks and I get to fly to Orlando and visit for the weekend. (May 5 & 6)

I love my man.

"I'm working FL wanna meet me in Orlando for the weekend?" DUH!

"Where do you wanna stay?" ummm DUH!(again) I know this little out of the way place called DISNEY!

So work's going to pick up the room, we already have AP, and I'm using a free flight from Southwest.

Now I need some help from ya'll- I want to take a romantic/thank god we got some time together/i still love you basket thingie. What are some ideas that I can fly with that are unexpected? I know wine and that kind of stuff, I'm looking for off the wall. TIA

Lori

:cool1:  Yeah for you!!!!! You get to do the happy dance! As for an off the wall basket thingie that really is your department! If I needed to do one, you're the person I'd go to!!!

Lori, That is a nice surprise for you! I am going to be thinking of romantic stuff for you...how about, now this may be too forward or off the wall of me, chocolate body paint? I would imagine it would be nice with Rosa Regale!!!

Lauren

The Hat- I have room in my freezer if you need space for someone i mean something.
If she doesn't take you up on it I might. ;) Good thing I didn't get a tag for that comment. That would be pretty hard to explain if DH happened to see it.

I had some guacamole dip (nasty store bought stuff) and carrots for lunch yesterday and they did a number on my stomach so I didn't make or eat dinner yesterday. DH picked up McDonalds for DS and himself. Tonight I'm making the hamburgers I was going to do yesterday with homemade mac & cheese, and some kind of veggie.

I'm going to a Pampered Chef party at my SIL's house tonight. I've never been to one before, should I take something?

 :lmao: I'm anxious to hear what Lori says about that! I'm thinking it will be a doozie!

I am very under the weather today...friends came over last night and we had too many bay breezes... :headache:  :headache: I guess I can't party like I used to...:upsidedow

Well, cake tasting was fun...after all the cake we tasted, we went with a yellow cake, custard and buttercream frosting. Very basic but we loved it all...the cake was very moist and the custard was to die for...I didn't care for any of the fruit fillings and I do not like fruit fillings beside peaches (had that for the first wedding so I don't want it again!!!). I really liked the hazelnut filling but DF said he is allergic...:confused3 . The design of the cake is very pretty. It is going to be 4 tiered, square bottom, then round, square and round top...white scroll design on the squares and polka dots with those silver balls on the round cakes. We will then have fresh flowers on the tiers. No cake topper...I am not a cake topper girl.

I never cooked yesterday. We had pizza...not sure what we are doing for dinner tonight but I really want to go to Stewarts and have some greasy food and root beer. Not sure what I did but I lost 6 pounds since yesterday and want to gain some back!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Your cake sounds very good!!! Sometimes the simple ones are the best!!! I can't wait to see pictures of it (hint, hint!)

Hey, I just found this posted on the restaurant thread! WDW recipes!

http://tomorrowlandvacations.com/recipes/

Very cool!!!! I can't wait to try some of these!!! Does anyone know where I can find some Disneyland recipes??? We are having a family vacation there the first week in June (my family, my parents, my 3 siblings and their families), and I like to do a little party for my kids and my nieces and nephews just before we leave to get them in the spirit! We play Disney music, do a Disney craft (usually a T-shirt to wear to the parks), play Disney Scene It, and have some food. I try to theme the food around Disney movies, but that's kind of limiting. We've done spaghetti and meatballs (Lady and the Tramp), tea party (Alice in Wonderland), etc. But I'd like to try something new. Any ideas? Thanks all you creative cooks!

I'm going to a Pampered Chef party at my SIL's house tonight. I've never been to one before, should I take something?

At all the Pampered Chef parties I've ever gone to, there are cooking demonstrations. I wouldn't bring anything unless your hostess asked you to. Have fun!

Lindsay- can you let us know how the movie was? I also like Anthony Hopkins and would like to see this one.
*grumble* Nature called and not in a good way, so we didn't go to the movie  We will see it next weekend.

Try this site. http://www.homestead.com/disneyrecipes/Disneylandrecipes.html

I thought this site had Disneyland recipes too, but it's just WDW. http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/recipes.html

Thanks, that's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure.

I made a Caesar salad, corn on the cob and crabcakes with some lemon/dill tartar sauce. Later we are having vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries that I sliced and mixed with Splenda earlier today.

The produce stand is less than a mile from me- strawberries were picked this morning. The "seafood guy" sold me scallops (grill tomorrow), shrimp (froze) and a pound of backfin crabmeat that was cooked and picked Wednesday afternoon which became our crabcakes tonight. We have 2 leftover that if not eaten during the night ;) will be great on buns for lunch Monday.

I also baked some large chicken breasts that are cooling in the refrigerator for me to debone and make a chicken salad for lunch tomorrow and Tuesday. I've boiled some red potatoes to make a potato salad for Monday and with the remaining potatoes some country fries to go with the grilled scallops (with wasabi tartar sauce!) and a salad tomorrow night.

Tarheel Tink- Holy Moly! You were one busy gal in the kitchen today! I can't remember that last time I was so organized that I was planning tomorrow never mind two days from now. :worship: I am impressed!

It went well. The consultant made a really good bbq pineapple chicken pizza. If anyone wants the recipe let me know and I'll post it. She also made an interesting cake in the microwave.

Does anyone have the Measure-All Cup? I've seen Alton Brown use something similar on his show and have always wanted one. I'm just wondering how well it works.
