The Official "What Is Up With Park Hours on Disney's Site" Thread

Personally their entire website ticks me off right now. The reservation part is pretty simple but trying to view anything about say, a resort, is impossible. Their site is downright terrible right now.

I think even the reservation part is horrible! It can't handle basic operations found on every other reservation site known to man -- like booking multiple rooms at one time. I want two rooms for two nights at Coronado for a party of 7 - sounds like a pretty standard request, right? Nope! Not on Disney's site!

I get an error saying my party size exceeds the max occupancy of their standard rooms (duh! I already knew that!) The only options they offer are to decrease my party size or select a large suite. I don't WANT a suite, and I can't decrease my party size -- I just want TWO standard rooms that sleep 4! I also don't want to call and talk to some poorly trained rep, and I don't want to make two seperate reservations. I HATE their web site.

I'm a professional web developer, and have emailed them several times over the years about basic improvements that they would greatly increase the user-friendliness of the site, but they apparently just ignore it.

Just got off the phone with Disney and they said the hours for DHS on Feb. 2 are 9-7, which doesn't match with the DIS hours, is there someone at DIS I can contact about fixing their hours?

A friend called the info number....DHS does close at 6 pm on February 12th and EMH was moved to the 9th. Stinks for my plans, but what can you do?:confused3 I was told to get to 50s Prime Time by 5 pm for a 6:50 adr though...they have people booked in until 9 something for adr's that night. Well...I'm one less because I'd rather go to a CS in Downtown Disney than waste an hour of my park time waiting. :sad2:

Has anyone who has written gotten a response (other than the generic "thanks for your input" one)? It'd be nice if the "park hours" on their site had, you know....accurate park hours.

We have a party of 7 also and booked 2 rooms connecting at CBR. The way I did it when I wanted a quote, was to go on the website and get a quote for 1 room with 1 adult and 3 kids, and did it again for 1 room with 1 adult and 2 kids. Then I added the two package costs together. I agree, it should be easier for us large families. They should make the option available to choose 2 rooms. Anyway, when I booked, I did call and talk to a person. Also, several cast members told me that you are GARAUNTEED connecting rooms when the number of children exceeds the number of adults. Hope that helps.

These have been corrected. The DIS should now agree with the rest.

Do these agree now?

No, it still doesn't match. I got an email from Disney today talking about how my trip is about a week away, yada yada....and then it had links to Park hours and info.

When you click on daily schedule, it brings you to a page similar to the old calendar...I haven't seen this page before on the new site.

it still is not showing EMH for DHS on 2/9, however on the DIS schedule it is showing.

Who can I call at Disney to find out for sure?

****added: OMG, the WDW site is REALLY getting on my nerves. So, after I posted this I go back to the email they sent me TODAY and clicked on the hours for AK....guess what pulls up? A BLANK calendar for Jan and Feb!! Does Disney have ANY idea how frustrating this is for their guests who are trying to plan their vacations? It's insanity, really!**********

And, to confuse things even more....I found a number for WDW info and called it. The automated schedule said DHS is open from 9a - 6p on 2/9, with no EMH.

Then I asked for an agent and the guy told me they were open til 7pm with EMH from 7-10!!

GEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess we'll just find out when we get there....I'm so tired of stressing about it!

I'm not a complainer--especially when it comes to things in regards to Disney, but the new format they have on their website is horrible. I'm sure you've all already seen and done this, but for those who haven't...at the bottom of the main page on Disney's website there are four headings. The last one is Support and Legal Notices. The last heading under support and legal notices is share website feedback. Maybe if enough people voice their dislike, in a polite way, Disney will change the format back. It's at least worth a try.

I sent my complaint back on 1/13. I received a response on 1/16 asking when my trip was planned and what park I was going to visit so that he would know where on the site to direct me to find the parade and firework information. I responded back telling him I was going to ALL the parks and wanted this info for ALL the parks. I just received a response today (11 days later) with a listing of each of my dates and the times for Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic, Spectromagic and each of the parades for each of the days of my trip. That's it - no link or directions to where I could find this on the website by myself. I responded back with a sincere thanks for the information. Then I asked very simply - why did I have to send an e-mail to get this information and why wasn't it readily available on a user friendly website?????

I'm getting aggravated. I'm trying to plan our trip and I can't find out which nights Fantasmic will be showing. I don't want to make ADRs for the wrong day. UGH!!!

I sent my email at 1:54 and got an email back at 1:56. Very polite, but basically telling me that a member of the Executive Correspondence team looks forward to responding to me in the near future. ;)
Update...still waiting to be responded to..:rotfl2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

User friendly website!!!!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

And to further confuse the issue, I just spoke with Central Reservations (CRO) just now (10:10am ET) and the lady on the phone told me that the MK hours for Sunday 02/15 are 9am - 12 midnight, with Extra Magic Hours from Midnight to 3am. The Disney site Park Hours webpage is unchanged from my previous posting, saying EMH are 10 - 1am.

I wonder what ToonTown is like at 3am? Think that there will still be a long line to meet-and-greet the Fairies? :joker:

I'm so frustrated:headache: that the hours are different within the Disney system. On the US disney site it says open until 10pm. On the Canadian site it says open til midnight and when I called the automated line it said open til midnight. I wish they would get their act together. I tried emailing a letter from their website and it won't go through! It says there was an error. I have tried several times. I can't believe they can't fix the website problems yet.

I'm just glad to see that the hours posted here on the DIS and the hours listed on the Canadian version of the Disney website agree... I can happily ignore the US Disney site, though it will be nice when it's finally working. At one point it must have been, because I updated the park hours for our upcoming trip, and I was so excited to see MK staying open later on a few nights. Good thing I saw all the controversy here, instead of just going back and checking the "official" Disney calendar, or else I would have been mighty peeved!

I got fed up and made my own page:

http://parktimes.net/

I'm still trying to find an official Disney source for Parades and Shows. When I find it I'll keep this page updated with them too.

What is that one based off of? Supposedly the DIS is the accurate one, and they have DHS closing at 6 on 2/12 with no EMH. You have it closing at 7 with EMH, same as the supposedly inaccurate disneyworld.com

evidently it would be based off the new US Disney site which is reportedly wrong.

but.. I checked my park hours tool which hasn't been updated in a couple of days (it's supposed to update itself automatically hourly) and it turns out that a lot of the international pages are no longer providing daily schedule information.

So now they look like they're messed up as well.
