That's good to know about asking for a drip coffee maker. I drink a pot every morning (no judgment lol) and a Keurig just isn't the same for me.
I just entered ROFR today for a Grand Floridian contractIt is a 60 point contract that comes will all 60 2022 points that I can use without having to pay the dues on them
Small contracts are very far and few between with some of them being priced very unrealistically
So I am super thrilled to get this one and pray that the ROFR monster keeps hibernating
I can't wait to be added to the owner post
On Saturday, I leave for 3 nights at the Poly Villas followed by 7 nights at the Grand Floridian Villas
How perfect would it be to hear that I passed ROFR when I am actually staying at the GFV

Thanks, PolyRobView attachment 752643
Seriously though, congratulations! I am on the hunt for a decently priced VGF contract. Of course I added-on last year after missing out on the VGF luggage and regret not purchasing more when I got the cheapest direct price. Tale as old as time!
Things seem to be passing so I think you should be ok! Pixie dust for a quick and painless ROFR!Thanks, PolyRobI was looking for a small contract at either the Poly or the GFV and they seem to be quite hard to find, especially with a decent price
There was one GFV contract that was listed since last November with an asking price of $190
For only $27 more, you might as well buy direct!! They did lower the price to $180 but that is still way high in today's market
Since small contracts at the Poly or GFV are so rare, I paid the asking price of $160 to increase my odds of getting it and keeping that ROFR monster hibernating

Quick bit of advice from you wonderful lot. I am rending DVC points from a very kind member on the boards. Our waitlist for GF has come I but I asked for a Studio and my partner has been looking at resort studio photos.
Is she going to be disappointed by the standard studios rather than the Resort one ?

Depends a great deal on your needs/wants, IMO.
The original building, known casually as VGF1, has an actual kitchenette with some counter space and a small squarish sink with gooseneck faucet. That'll also have a true mini-fridge with shaped storage slots in the door for tucking beverage cans and other pourables--very handy for oddly shaped items, too.
There's a sort of double bathroom, too, with tub-shower combo in half and walk-in shower in the other. Very useful for quickly showering and getting to a park faster.
The resort studios in BPK as you may know are converted hotel rooms. Only a single bathroom with twin sinks, sliding door between sink area and toilet/tub-shower.
There's a makeshift kitchenette, no counter really, microwave above, beverage cooler below with a flat see-through door minus those handy storage slots and which may not keep foods cold enough. Reports on that issue vary somewhat. Bathroom sinks for cleanup.
The resort studio has two real queen beds plus sofa bed instead of the queen and Murphy queen plus pull-down twin of the VGF1 Deluxe. Peculiarly, the sofa bed faces the wall opposite the tv.You'll likely feel there's more open floorspace in the resort studio. That's particularly so if you'd use the pull-down bed in the Deluxe studio which doesn't leave a lot of floor space.
Generally, I'd say if you plan to eat out and fix little more than snacks or a light breakfast, the resort studio would likely work fine. Any more cooking than that, considering cleanup ease, you'll likely prefer the VGF1 Deluxe.
BPK is somewhat closer to pools and GF restaurants, too. However, dodging rain will be an issue as opposed to the lovely canopied walkway from the back door of VGF1 to the GF front entrance. It is a bit of a hike from VGF1 to the GF, though.
The consensus among VGF owners usually favors the VGF1 Deluxe, but for reasons stated, you might prefer and enjoy the resort studio.
I would have them look at videos of the one you will be in.
We prefer the deluxe studios over the resort studios. But many feel the other way.
I think if this is your first time at the resort, I think you will love it regardless!
I think she really like the theming of the Resort rooms. But im sure the VGF1 rooms are just as nice.
It does appear you can get get views of the monorail from this type of room.

Can you ask the member you are renting from to waitlist you for the Resort Studio? It's the same number of points as long as you're sticking with the same view, so it shouldn't change the terms of your rental contract. And even if it doesn't come through, I'm sure you'll still enjoy your stay!We are only staying one night after a Cruise. So I guess sent the end of the world as the kitchen issue wont really effect us.

I think I will have to do this and hope she likes it.
Feel really stupid that I dint double check the DVC confirmation.
I don't know the answer to this, but I'm hoping someone else does! I wasn't successful in booking one when I tried last year because they were gone already for my date, but I had called the WDW Play line just assuming they would apply the discount for me. I feel like if you wait that extra hour for MS to open you might lose out on the cabana. I'm hoping to get 2 of them for our trip this year and definitely need that discount!Getting ready for my 60 days next week and looking to book 2 days of cabanas. Does anyone know if they will apply the DVC discount if I call the WDW-PLAY line at 7 instead of waiting for DVC MS to open at 8? Last time we booked them, WDW-PLAY couldn't apply the discount and I ended up having to ask the cabana CM who applied the discount for us the day of.
Yeah I'm not waiting to book with MS because that hour would definitely cost me a cabana or two! They are mainly for my in-laws so they can enjoy them while we take my son to the parks. Last time we did two days in 2021 too and it was so nice to just hang out in. If I have to ask the attendant the day of to apply the discount and get a refund, I don't mind doing that.I don't know the answer to this, but I'm hoping someone else does! It was for early November and I tried to get our 1st day (a Sunday) and they were gone. Unfortunately it was the only day that would have worked with our schedule that trip, so I didn't ask about availability for other days (although the CM had let me know on the phone that there was availability the day prior to our check-in.) I also called back periodically to check for cancellations and checked when we arrived just in case, but no luck. We successfully booked one for our 1st day in May of 2021, however that was before we came DVC members and also still during COVID restrictions so probably not a good indicator of availability. I hope you get them on both of your days! My kids still talk about the cabana; it really added a little extra magic to our trip!Yeah I'm not waiting to book with MS because that hour would definitely cost me a cabana or two! Can I ask when you tried to book last year? I'm trying to grab one for our third and fifth days.
