The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Currently contemplating a visit in late Jan/early Feb. Not sure yet but thinking about it.

Went ahead and made a reservation for one of the new Duo Studios since it popped up available for my dates. (Only had the pool view available)

Price is still ‘Disney’ sized but is cheaper than a standard room. Don’t know if DVC will actually end up with sales since it’s so new but I’ll keep an eye out.

Being solo this seems a no brainer.

Interested to see what people think of them.

It’s a really attractive building.

Everyone shouts about how all of the Disney hotels just look like office buildings now, and some complained about it when we saw the concept art here, but the way they’ve done the balconies and the color accents and the other accents is really best-in-class for a modern glass covered tower style building.
I look at those and the vibe I get is mid century urban renewal. Like it looks 1960s urban movie set. I could be wrong but I expect Rock and Doris to bump into each other at the entrance.

I totally dig it.

Me too, love the look but totally understand how it looks different from the others. It can easily be remedied in the future with new paint jobs and theming. I am hoping this is the beginning of this type of them for the DLH and even Disney forward!

I’m a bit annoyed with this gift with purchase that started today. I know I saved more money but.. 😅
Love the faux 3-d, picture box effect the colors have! 🤔add-on 25 points for the art? BTW, googled it and couldn't find it. Got a link, @Sunnyore?
It does kind of look weird that it’s a different color than all of the other towers. I’m not saying I don’t like it as a standalone, just that it’s a bit visually jarring when walking around the property.

I think they painted the other towers specifically to be on the same color palette and VDH was to stand out. In other words, the shade of orange is from the same color palette as the shade of blue used on the other towers so there is no clashing.

Don't they normally have cast members stay in the new resorts for a night or two to make sure everything is working? Is that going to happen at VDH? IIRC, we heard about it pretty far in advance for Riviera.

I know they did it on purpose, but I walked over there last week and it definitely clashes.

I wish the people who picked out the wall art for the rooms would have gone with the 1960’s urban movie set vibe as well….

By tonight talking with security. It’s occupied 25 percent currently! Guests are wearing wrist bands. Those outer walls are gone. Just some around the breezeway bar. Maintenance on monorail slides/pool area complete. Can walk right up to the tower!

Awesome! Try to get some up close pictures!

Yes the guides are invited to test out the rooms I believe this weekend. Some were pretty excited.

What is it that you’re looking for? The mural art? Disney recently sent out the wallpaper for it. If you Google lorelay bove it should pop up.

Maybe they have much bigger plans than we know, if DisneylandForward were to happen maybe they replace the Adventureland tower with one that matches the DVC tower? (DVC or not, It could be bigger and even expand further into Downtown Disney)
