"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I just rewatched Sunday's ep and misssed something: when Tara comes home and Maryanne is in Gran's clothing, she's reading HEARTSICK by Chelsea Cain (if anyone on the thread has mentioned this, I missed it, so I'm sorry). I read this book last summer and it scared the crappage out of me... it's about a serial killer who kidnaps an FBI agent and tortures him (it's extremely graphic). I had a hard time getting through it, but it was pretty good in a Silence-of-the-Lambs-but-not-as-poignant kind of way. Just thought that was interesting...

That's a really cool connection.

Finished book 4 today and I have one word for you...... Drool!

My favorite book so far in the series!

DH and I are betting it's Karl, Maryanne's servant. I don't think it's Daphne, but she is probably involved with Maryanne in some way or another.
That thought crossed my mind, too, so it's probably not Karl. ;)

UGH!!! I just finished reading book 3. I'm on vacation at the beach and as it was, we had to drive off the Island (Long Beach Island, NJ) and find me a bookstore Thursday so I could buy "Living Dead in Dallas" & "Club Dead".

We leave tomorrow and I'm already looking online trying to find another bookstore so I can buy book 4.

I can't wait to read what happens with Sookie and the vampire(s). (Trying not to give anything away to those who have not read the books yet.)

This sexual tension sure is frustrating!!!

I was just coming to post the link, but I'm a little late. I had to watch the trailer several times so absorb it all. It was REALLY good!:thumbsup2

Here's an interview with the three main actors that was done at comic-con. No real spoilers, but main is Alex sexy!

Thanks for the clip! Poor Alex and Stephen! Does Anna ever shut up? Good thing Alex started talking over her or she would have answered the question that was directed at him!:sad2:

29 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!! eeeeeeekkkkkkk!!!:dance3::yay::dance3:

I loved the new episode. Interesting look at Bill and Lorena's past. Changes some ideas I had of Bill. Do you think that was really Stephen Moyer singing? He did a good job I thought.

I liked it when Eric said Sookie was something other than human.

I read on facebook that Alan Ball said he'd be introducing Debbie from the books, so that means that Alcide must be coming with her! SWEET!

Awesome news about Debbie Pelt and Alcide!

Interesting that Lorena shows up in a different way than in the books...Eric is devious.

I'm glad it's a bit different from the books, so that we readers of the series don't always know what's coming, but I love when they put some stuff in (like dialogue, esp. last season) that we've read - like Sookie being dragged down the stairs, Gabe being there...

I hope they make Pam more of a friend to Sookie, with her dry vampire sense of humor - that was a relationship I enjoyed throughout the books.

Who said they thought Daphne was the pig?!? Good going on that theory!

:sunny:

I blurted out to my husband that maybe Daphne is the pig, since she has the claw marks that aren't affecting her, she happened to come into the bar around the time Marianne showed up, her main storyline is with Sam, who Marianne has a history with. I'm sure getting a kick out of Andy's quest to find the pig, though!

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! :cool1: :goodvibes

I don't mind Anna as the actress for Sookie, but I do feel like her accent is overly exaggerated this season which makes her sound a little more annoying. I've been to southern Louisiana and I don't recall people talking with such a thick accent. But then again I'm a Yankee too.:rolleyes1

I agree that Anna's accent is HORRIBLE this season. It does seem even more exaggerated than last season.

Well that explains why she's seems to be quite annoying this season. :headache: I really liked Sookie last season. It must be the accent now.

Anna was on hiatus with Stephen Moyer in England. Maybe, when she came back, they started filming right away and she felt she had to do the southern accent up more to compensate for hearing a British accent so much while she was away. :listen:

Great episode last night - DH and I loved it! My favorite part was when Andy told Lafayette he'd have more sparkle after a gay cruise, not less. :rotfl:

I love Alex. :lovestruc He is the perfect Eric.

I loved the new episode. Interesting look at Bill and Lorena's past. Changes some ideas I had of Bill.

The show seems to be playing up the "evil" vampire side more than the books do IMO. It is an interesting reminder of where they came from. Bill seems so different now.

I totally agree. :thumbsup2

As soon as I saw the collie with the pig I knew Daphne was Marianne's "pet". Crazy! Marianne sure is a baddie in the show. :scared1:

Great episode!

I appreciated seeing Bill's past with Lorena -- it explains all of his expounding on how evil vampires are when they live in groups and telling Sookie how bad the Texas vampires are ... he's truly been trying to live a better life and make up for his Lorena years, I believe.

Though book readers know there's more to Bill than meets the eye -- and wondering if they will "go there" in the HBO series.

I thought last night's episode was great--best of the season so far, though as usual, it didn't have enough Eric in it. The whole Bill/Lorena background bit reminded me of Angelus and Darla (in a good way) from Buffy.

I agree with other book lovers who say that they like the way the show doesn't quite follow the books. I've read and reread all of the series over the years, so it's great to get a new look at it.:goodvibes

I really love Eric, but the way he's conspiring to get Sookie away from Bill is a litle too evil for me! In the books, he wants her but doesn't overtly conspire to get her away from Bill like this. It's taking away a bit from my Eric-love...

;)

Same here, although I do think Ball is doing a great job of showing Eric as the political mastermind that Sookie sees him as in the books. She's always thinking "Eric's just out for Eric" in the books, but almost every time he has a scene, he's not the way Sookie thinks of him. Maybe TV Eric will change (hope so).
