"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

Ok, I have read all the books but the last one. Haven't had the extra cash to pay for the hard cover yet. Big fan, and I got hooked on the books because of the show. And I get how things have to change...but...
Why did they re-write the shifter mythology? According to the books, a shifter can only be born of two pure shifters...and it can only be the first born child of the two shifters. And yet Sam's real dad, not a shifter. And Sam's brother...a shifter!
Now at first glance, this may seem like small stuff...but this actually becomes important in future story lines.
I agree with you, but maybe the story will change later and will find out that Sam's bio dad is not really his father. :confused3 Maybe they just needed a storyline for Sam this season so they pulled this one out of a hat.

I found it odd, too.

This, from the Orlando Sentinel:

“True Blood” is the most entertaining show this summer. But the HBO drama takes a startling turn at 9 p.m. Sunday that reminds everyone the vampires don’t play nice. The episode features a sex scene that I’d nominate as the most shocking I’ve ever seen. I think “True Blood” is becoming a show-biz institution.

I'm betting on Tara & Franklin Mott.

I am LOVING this season so far! (I know it is only two episodes in but still...) I have read through the sixth book but I get them confused...it seems like maybe they are combining some of the books this season? We don't find out about Bill's reason for meeting Sookie until later in the book series right? Not in the third book?

I am putting this in white just in case:

It's in book 3. So do you think they will have it be the same reason or will Bill be more noble on the TV series?

Thank you! I am the type of person who has to read a book a few times to really remember it (same thing with movies).
I am thinking it is going to be the same idea and then there is room for sexy Eric to step in! Woohoo!! Actually Alcide will probably be the love interest this season but I SO love Sam, in the end I would want Sookie and Sam to end up together but I know that will not happen.

I agree (and hope) that they will use the same reasons to get Beeeeellllllllllll less screen time. Seriously, after about the second book he really became a minor character. And if I remember right, Sookie and Alcide (in the books) never actually did the deed, right? Just a lot of, ahem, tension between them! Now, I can't wait for Quinn!

bills reason comes out in book 3. I read all but the last in the series and it does seem like they combine things.
because doesn't jason meet crystal in a later book, not book 3?

IMO the supporting characters in the show are all more interesting than what's happening with Bill or Sookie. I especially like Lafayette and Tara.

Was The Gates any good? I DVRd it but I had to watch the last episode of The Tudors after TB last night, plus, I hate commercials, so I like to record and FF through them.

Did you notice Thomas Cromwell from the Tudors is Franklin? A very skinny Franklin??

Oh, for heaven's sake, THANK YOU!!!! I've been trying to figure out where I "knew" that actor from for a whole week now! :lmao:

I ABSOLUTELY love Lafayette! Thank goodness they developed this character rather than follow the books. On the other hand, I'm sick of Tara. I loved her totally (b)witchy from early season one, but since then between her mama and Eggs, I'm tired of the "woe is me."

I'm excited for Alcide and Quinn, and definitely Eric to be love interests, but I'm also sad, because in the end, I've always wanted Sookie to end up with Bill:lovestruc.

I'm the same way. I love her having fun playtime with Eric but I'd like her to have a long relationship with Bill or Sam. And I hate the Tara character from the show but love Lafayette.

Snoop's Sookie video is hilarious.

Audible.com is a legitimate site, owned by Amazon.com. They've been around for a long time. There is no spyware/adware in their downloads. :thumbsup2 I think DIS member DVCLiz uses audible.com. But, I don't think she reads this thread to chime in about it.

I've been a member of Audble.com for years and I  the audio versions of the Sookie books! The lady who reads them really brings life to the characters. :thumbsup2

I totally think Alcie (sorry for the spelling) is very hot, similar to the way I pictured him from the book, muscular construction type of man! I can't wait to see more of him and the whole Debbie story too! :happytv:

Well, for us non book readers that was pretty confusing.;)

And holy crikey! The scene with Bill and Lorena.:scared1:

WTH did Sam dig up people that threw him away? I mean really Sam?:headache:

A lot of people and groups to keep track of. I might have to watch it again.

Tonight's episode was great and disturbing at the end! :scared:

I am really liking this season (much better than last year's) and the new characters, especially the King of Mississippi & Franklin. I love Lafayette and Eric too.
