"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

anyone getting a little sick of Sookie constantly whining and complaining to Bill? Does she NOT understand yet that Bill cannot fight off vamps who are older than him? I would think she would get this fact through her thick skull already.

I like the book Sookie better. She is much smarter and less whiney.

Funny that you mentioned the books. I'm on the 4th one now, and I've completely stopped watching the show. I may go back and watch this season on DVD, but, after reading the books, the show just started becoming ridiculous.

Sookie complains more about Bill than to him. She's always on the verge of breaking up with him, even though he's constantly proclaiming his undead devotion to her. It's very passive-aggressive. "Bill, I can't be with you if you do that." :sad2:

I was actually a little irritated with the whole episode. Does it seem to anyone else that the next season is planning on skipping right to the fairy storylines? I'm going to be ticked if we skip over Book 4.

And what is up with Sam? And Lafayette with the hallucinations? I don't like the way either story line is going.

And, I agree, why the heck does Sookie never seem to work anymore? In the books, much is made of Sookie's money issues. In the series, she's apparently just paying her bills with pixie dust.

I did kind of come to a conclusion that I'm not such a huge fan of the show--I have no desire to buy the Season 1 or Season 2 dvd's of True Blood. The first season focused too much on V and the second focused to much on the maenad. While it was enjoyable to watch, I just have no compelling desire to watch it again.

Sam-too funny yelling at the waitresses hilarious, i have always liked him and tara together
eric- love when he smiled that he got to drink sookies blood so cute
bill- is he going to go save sookie or eric first?

I definitely do not like this side of Sam.

What the heck is a were-panther? Are they any more dangerous than werewolves? :confused3

I'm guessing Jesus is part were-panther, too, since he has a big tattoo of one one his chest.

There are all sorts of were-creatures, were-rabbits, were-bears, etc. That's what comes from years of playing D&D.

I'm not convinced Jesus is a were-panther. I think he may have a lot to do with all that hallucination stuff that Lafayette is experiencing. Maybe something having to do with Santaria?

I agree. Why must the show focus so much time on these other storylines? I really only want to see Sookie, Eric and Pam.

I agree that there is something off about Jesus, but I said that from the first time they introduced him. He said that the tattoo on his chest is a Jaguar, not a panther.

The Sookie/Bill is starting to get annoying. Just dump him already!

And it occurred to me a couple weeks ago that in the show, it has really only been a couple of weeks since Maryann was killed. Notice that Andy still wears a cast on his arm. Sookie and Bill came back from Dallas, Maryann was killed, and then Bill disappeared within a couple of days of that. So Sookie really isn't missing all THAT much work, and considering that she was badly hurt and in the hospital, it's natural that she would take some time off. She also got paid A LOT of money from Eric for helping out in Dallas...but her house is paid off and since she hasn't been spending a whole lot of time there, I can't imagine that her bills are all that much.

I think they are going to combine books 4 & 5 into one season....obviously, with the introduction of Holly and the confirmation that Hallow will be introduced for season 4, we know they are going somewhere where that story arc....but the Fae, from what I remember, don't really become prominent until book 5 so we'll see.

Sheesh. I didn't know there was so many types of shifter animals. After seeing how Sam can change into anything, the were-panther was kind of a let down. Now, I really feel bad for snarking about spoilers a couple weeks ago. It turned out to be no big thing. :confused3 Even Jason was like "So you turn into a panther," after he got over the initial shock.

I try really hard not to keep comparing the books (especially Sookie) with the show, but it's hard. Book Sookie is so much funnier, smarter and stronger...I, too, am getting really tired of all the whining, and as hard as I try, I still don't like Anna Paquin as Sookie.

ITA. This season may be my last. The books are so smart and funny and sly. The series is devolving into an attempt to see how much gore, f-bombs, and soft core porn they can fit into an hour.

And you're right about Anna Paquin. Something about her mouth....

I don't want to sound mean or judgmental, it has nothing specifically to do with her looks, but she's just not Sookie. I know we all form our own mental images of our favorite characters when we read a good book, but Anna is so different from my perception of Sookie that it is often distracting when I'm watching TB...:confused3

Book 4 is the best of the entire series. They didn't give us Bubba. They better not take Book 4 away from us :headache:

As for never working, Sookie may have received a tidy sum from Eric for Dallas, but she hasn't even really started fixing her house after the MaryAnn storyline. In the books, she takes pride in her home. In the series, she doesn't seem to care if it looks like Dogpatch.

The funny thing about this is that Anna Paquin really resembles my BFF when we were in school, only more blond. I can't get over that. Even the space between her two front teeth... it's like watching my BFF portray someone else.

I picture Sookie as being very attractive, so I just don't find Anna cute enough to be Sookie. I think she looked better in the first season. I also don't think it helps that so many liberties have been taken with the plot and the characters.

I know Sookie is very busy this season...but that being said they havent done a good job with her hair and makeup very plain...seeason 1 she looked nicer.

It's already been confirmed that Eric will be bewitched by witches in season 4 by Alan Ball. So we get our book four Sookie/Eric thing I posted the confirmation a few pages back

Well I am 2 days late with my general thoughts on the episode..

- I agree with a lot of you about Sookie...she is WAY to whiney...I miss the strong woman she is in the books.

- Sam, why oh why is this happening...Sam is NOT supposed to be this way....which leads me to Tara...

- Tara...you were just lusting over Jason, now sleeping with Sam...I dont think the DIS will allow me to post what we call that..LOL..

- Eric...as much as I love to see him on screen, this is not a good storyline for him...he is not all about revenge...he better not die...

- Lafayette/Jesus - UGH...NOT another V storyline...enough already..

Overall..it was OK..not what I was expecting for a episode before the final one..I am wondering how they are going to end this..or at least tie up some of it before next season..

Someone mentioned the were's. There are shifters, who can turn into ANYTHING, but have a preference, like Sam turning to a collie.

Then there are were's. They can be any animal. Were-panther, were-bat, were-fox, were-tiger etc etc. Then there are werewolves. They claim to be the only TRUE were. Weres can turn at anytime, but MUST turn at full moon

Don't forget some weres can't turn at anytime like hotshot is really inbred and they have issues technically Crystal can't really change on her own free will.

I agree with all ya said and Eric won't die for sure he's signed on for next season the actor and they are doing what they did to Eric in book 4.

I was really excited for Lafayette getting a love interest but then again who gets a normal love interest on this show so I shoulda figured. Really Tara has no solid relationships and anyones she gets are weird, Sookie and Bill nuff said, Hoyt and Jessica are probably the most normal (not saying much) Alcide and Debbie (CRAZYYYYYYyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy) Jason and Amy (crazy V Trip) Oddly Arlene and terry have the most normal relationship.

Alan Ball has something against normal relationships lol. In the book you get normal relationships like Hoyt and Holly for example (Jessica isnt in the books) and Andy and Halleigh, Portia and Glen but here it seems they are banned lol (I know they are later on in the series but still)
