Can I ask a serious question for any of you who really followed American Idol in the past? Do you think the hype surrounding Taylor is bigger than for past Idol winners? To me it seems to be so, but, before S5, I only ever watched the show half-heartedly, if at all, and definitely never cared about the winner as I do this time around.

So maybe it's a case of me never taking notice before. But it seems to me that Taylor is HOT - and not just IMO, but he truly seems to be like the hottest thing in Hollywood right now. Which makes me - at the people who had, for so many months, described Tay as "not marketable."

The heart wants what the heart wants!!!! We finally have a hot male idol!!

Let's face it, Ruben was no sex symbol! Kelly is getting alot of publicity. I don't know what became of Fantasia. Carrie is big on the country music scene, but here in NYC we don't have a country music station so I have a hard time following her. I hope Taylor starts getting radio play - I haven't heard him once yet.

I followed AI since the beginning and I have NEVER EVER seen anything close to this for a WINNER... Clay, who was not a winner was a close second.

I loved Ruben and Fantasia but was not INTO them. I loved Bo but also wasn't INTO him. I'm INTO Taylor!

His PR firm is incredible. They keep him in the spotlight and in a positive light. He has an amazing future ahead of him.

He's definitely got bigger hype than past winners. Although now Kelly Clarkson is huge. Constantine was pretty big last season but he didn't win. I remember the day after Constantine left and that's all anyone could talk about

Sorry to go O/T, but I was wondering if anyone remembered Anthony Federov from last season? I went to my brother's church today to watch my nephew in the 4th of July program, and Anthony was there to sing the National Anthem. My niece had told me yesterday that an American Idol was going to be at church, but I had totally forgotten. Even when she told me I assumed it was probably like a top 35 person or something.

Haven't been on much as my brother and future sis-in-law are here visiting. So I've been playing the hostess and showing them around our fair Charleston.

I have to admit - I've suffered from Tay and SP withdrawl... ALTHOUGH, (funny story) we were driving around d'town Charleston last night, looking for the jail to take a 10:00 PM tour. Well we couldn't figure out where the heck we were so I'm like..."okay, maybe Taylor can help" and put on "Takin' it to the Streets!" Haha...they got a kick out of that! We were definitely takin' SOMETHING to the streets and it was three lost slightly buzzed ( )people!

What a beautiful tay it is. Finally seeing some sunshine.

Nothing to say really - I just haven't posted for a while.

I had a wonderful old friend from college visit this weekend. We had this conversation:

She: "do you watch much TV?"

Me: "not really, but DS and I were SO into AI this year"

She: "I hate that guy who won."



But do you know what? That's okay. I've said this before, so sorry if y'all hear me repeating myself, but I have this theory. For every one person who dislikes Taylor, that is one seat closer to the stage for me.

So, we're still friends. She did apologize and I assured her, through gritted teeth, that it's okay and that I'm sure she'd support my dislike for [insert political opinion here - I'm not going to state it because I don't want to hijack my own thread ]. We understand each other now.
