The OFFICIAL Simpsons Ride review thread

:( I just wrote a review of the ride and when I went to preview, my browser ate it?? Oh well, I'll try again later.

Okay, I will have to ride this, but...I get so nauseaus on these type of rides. Should I take dramine first?

I heard that the wall is down now and soft openings are today. Can't wait to see a picture with the wall down.

TODD!!!!!

(chance to be HUGE hero here.... :rolleyes1 )

Thanks phamton & DM for your reviews....we are looking forward to it....altho, since you BOTH mentioned not to miss the 'regular queue' :scared: video, now I'm gonna haveta get up early and go over one day...

Both Star Tours and Back to the Future made me queasy. I rode Simpsons twice and didn't feel queasy at all. I think simulators make you queasy if the film and the movements aren't perfectly synched.

Thanks for the great reviews! I had to stop riding BTTF because it just became too rough. I banged my head so hard, I missed part of the ride. So the fact that it's a very smooth ride is music to my ears! I can't wait to see it!:thumbsup2

Damo, that looks awesome with the wall down! I can't wait to check it out, I go over there May 16th-17th for my birthday!!

Sounds great! Hope they'll have it open during the HHN we attend.

What is the difference between level 1, 2 and 3, what are these levels for??

It looks very colorful.. does anyone know any differences there will be between orlando and hollywood simpson rides

There are three levels (floors) in the ride, think huge screen, each level has several cars in it, all viewing the same huge screen. The "best" car is level 2, car #6 as it is in the dead center.

I got a chance to ride it (twice) this afternoon, and it's REALLY well done, some cars had more effects working than others, so it's obvious they are still tweaking it. Wait times were around 45min to 75minutes (after fear factor live let out) No express until the official grand opening either.

:thumbsup2 Thats a spoiler if I've ever seen 1.If We don't see it next week We'll have to buy AP's.

Thanks for the reviews ... can't wait for our turn in a few weeks :)

Thanks for posting that phamton ... I got queasy on Star Tours and was so glad to hear that the Simpsons didn't make you queasy

Yea it doesn't make me too sick either. Usually for simulator rides, I have to stay focused on the screen, but on my 4th Simpsons ride, I was able to look around at the building and stuff, and I was fine.

I'll attempt a new version of my review post again since the internet ate it. I rode it Tuesday night for the employee preview. Overall reaction is similar to Dark...a lot smoother, but enough roughness to keep it fun. I'd compare it more to Spiderman in movement even though the vehicle is stationary. It was a lot of fun! The queue is really amazing, it is very colorful and lots to look at. There is lots of room for large crowds and most of it is shaded.

When we got there, we waited alongside the wall to go in. When the TM asked for our IDs, a family that had been standing nearby thought that meant they could ride, and were getting their personal IDs out. Oops!

The Simpsons TMs were having a lot of fun trying to get us all excited. When I entered the park (in Amity), I could hear big cheers across the lagoon behind the wall. It made me hurry faster! When we got behind the wall, the TMs were doing like a pre-pre show and having some fun with us.

***possible spoilers***
Since there seems to be detailed spoilers up elsewhere now, I won't go too much into the ride details. The room with rows is somewhat confusing as Dark mentioned. But lots to look at and keep you entertained while waiting. The holding room has a great safety video done by Itchy and Scratchy. The ride itself is awesome! There are lots of great jokes and jabs in the ride, including a hilarious sign at the end about Universal. The effects are great, I laughed a lot from the smell effect. The spin is neat too. I guess that's it for now...I wish I rode it more times!
