***The official September, 2016 Thread !!!***

An Orlando news station was saying they expected to be back into their normal weather pattern for Saturday the 3rd/Sunday and the following week, so that's good news!!

Oh....I HOPE SOOO! I know everyone says..."you're still at Disney, throw on a poncho and have fun", but I would hate to have crappy weather after not being on vacation for 2 years to save up for this $8k vacay!!

If you go to Fox 35 Orlando's Facebook page, meteorologist Glenn Richards posted a live video update about an hour ago (can't post the link otherwise I would). He said in the video and a couple posts on his own Facebook page that he's predicting it to make landfall sooner (as in Wednesday instead of Thursday), which is also good news for all of us getting there at the end of this week. Anything could happen, though. Time will tell!

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY :faint: I should really start packing or something.

I haven't even started, which is highly unlike me! Trying so hard to get all my hours done before we leave so that way no part of vacation is tainted with work... (I'm a WAHM), and have had friends visiting so it just hasn't been a priority. But that changes tonight!

I'm glad to hear that weather will be "normal" by Saturday, since that's when we're arriving! I still have so much to do to get ready. We're leaving Friday when the kids get out of school and driving from IL. We'll see how far we get before we're too tired to drive and then finish on Sat. At the moment, the kids think we're going to a family reunion in MI. We're not going to tell them we're not, we'll just see how long it takes them to figure out we're going the wrong way!

anyone worried about the weather?? We leave Saturday - and with all the storms brewing, I'm starting to worry...

I am getting super concerned. We normally go in Sept so rain is no big deal to us...we are 'throw on the poncho and enjoy the park to ourselves' people....BUT this sounds like more than the normal afternoon, scattered showers. This drenching, flooding rains they keep talking about. Also, we fly in Thursday at 6:50pm. I am so worried our flight will be cancelled.

We have been saving for two years for this vacation and the first two days, Friday and Saturday, were just supposed to be pool days (those days are actually a surprise for our kids!).

Orlando Meteorologist Tom Sorrells posted an insightful video last night. Here's a link to his fb page, should be the first thing on there, if not a few posts down. It was a bit encouraging because he said the storm isn't doing a good job of getting it's act together.

Here's the updated track...

25 days until our Sept. 2016 7th anniversary and our niece and nephews first trip. It will also be my DW and I's 7th WDW trip (or WDW 7.0). :)
We got our magic bands yesterday and now have the complete set of standard/base colors.
At this exact time (noon EST.) 25 days from now we'll be at the Biergarten Restaurant sitting down for lunch. :)

My husband and I dropped the kids off at college and will be at Disney staying at BWV from September 21-25. Our magic bands arrived yesterday! We have never been to the F&W but will be doing the Japanese Craft Beer Tasting and the Mexican Tequilla Lunch. Also booked a Keys to Kingdom tour. Can't wait!!

A week from today, I'll be on my 1st solo trip to The World! My first visit to any park besides MK, which I've only visited once.
My flight leaves at 7:30AM so my Super Shuttle will have to pick me up at 4:30AM :faint: I didn't think about how early I'd actually have to leave! Still, that means I'll get to the Orlando airport by lunchtime!

Holy crap, I am 9 days away from my trip. In two hours, I will be down to 8 days. I still can't wrap my head around it lol. I will start packing this weekend!

Alright, now I'm getting discouraged :( Track moved and landfall 1am Friday. Fine for all you flyers since it's moved way up north now. But we were going to leave either 11pm thurs and drive all night or leave at 3am, neither of those doable with the storm's landfall being pushed later. We'd get the brunt of it. Still trying to figure out if at this point we should add an extra night and just come in Thursday, if hubby can swing it with work. May experience some rain and a bit of wind on the drive, but at least we'd actually be there before the worst/before landfall and main bands, and not drive through possible tornadoes. Bah! I so hoped I could keep up the positivity but now I just don't even know what to do! Regardless I know we will get there eventually and safety is #1, and I'm so grateful for our vacation. It's just so tricky!
