***The official September, 2016 Thread !!!***

Hi! I finally joined the club. :) My wife and I will be attending Disneyworld from Sept 15-22. We are both beyond excited but this will be my wife's first time ever! We will be celebrating a trifecta...
  • Her first time (I have not been in 20 years)
  • Our 1st anniversary
  • Her 30th birthday
I chose Port Orleans - Riverside resort (Royal Guest room) and originally selected the Art of Animation but changed it after seeing all the great reviews. Again, I have not been to Disneyworld in 20 years (just a kid) so I know so much has changed. We were just at Disneyland this past March so she can really see the difference between the two. Anyway, I made my ADR's for:

  • California Grill (at night to watch the fireworks)
  • Mama Melrose (lunch but also acquired VIP passes for HS Fantasmic)
  • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (breakfast)
  • Le Cellier Steakhouse (dinner - Epcot)
  • San Angel Inn (dinner - Epcot)
  • Yak & Yeti (lunch - AK)
  • Boma (dinner - AK)
  • Be our Guest (breakfast - MK)
Now, I did not book more sit-downs due to it only being us two and do not want to plan all our time by the hour. I want us to explore and see what peaks our interest. I also have made our plans through Touring Plans which helped out a lot. I did not know you had to plan so much! I understand now how FastPass+, ADR's, rope drop, when to go which rides, etc. It is insane! But, I understand it is necessary evil because there is so much to see and who wants to wait in lines in the most magical place on earth?

I am not sure if you know but you can reserve a private boat (just the two of us) to watch the fireworks on the lagoon (MK). I scheduled this on our first night (we do not arrive Orlando until 4:30) and she no idea (do not worry she does not read the message boards). How it works, you have to call Disney (special events or something) and it leaves at 8pm from the Contemporary Resort. They provide wine or whatever and you get a perfect view of the fireworks privately. Very excited for this and her reaction.

Anyway, I wanted to say hi and let my excitement out to you guys (my wife is beyond excited) and planning for this trip has been fun (and a little stressful). I have done most of the planning and my wife is great with it. She gave input on some of the restaurants but she is way overwhelmed. I have read a ton on here and it has helped so much. 72 days to go!

Update!!!

My wife and I have decided to extend our stay for another three days. We are both beyond excited and wish we could leave now! The Disney travel agent was very helpful and setup everything perfectly. We do not have to leave our room so that was huge plus. Our total stay will be 10 days and nine days of park goodness. Woo hoo!!! 19 days to go. :)

Glad I found people as excited as I am.

We are 30 days away until we get to Disney World, but only 13 days until our trip starts. We are in New Zealand and travelling to Cozumel (in Mexico) for the triathlon world champs for 9 days then flying to Miami and staying in Fort Lauderdale for 4 days before driving to Orlando for 3 days at universal before going to WDW where we stay at CBR for 9 days. I'm so excited! We have had a rough three years spending all our money on failed fertility treatment so it's going to be nice to have some nice memories from our money.

Anyone booking the free dining bounce back offer for next year?? Definitely booking Por for next September, maybe I won't feel as sad when I'm on the bus back to the airport knowing I have another countdown running.

I was hoping to but Sept it's only available until Sept 7th and then not again until December. For some reason they cut out all of September, October and November.

I'm sorry the fertility treatments didn't work. I hope you have a nice vacation.

25 more days!! Magic bands should be here tomorrow according to the USPS tracker! This a our first time using magic bands so I am so excited about that! I always wear my Apple Watch on my left wrist so it's going to feel strange having something on my right wrist also. Maybe I will practice wearing mine? :p We were planning on going again next year in October right before my husband gets out of the Marine's but since I'm in nursing school and cannot miss any school, it looks like we will be moving our trip up until August or even July!

anyone worried about the weather?? We leave Saturday - and with all the storms brewing, I'm starting to worry...

We go in September a lot and it always rains. So not too worried. It won't be any more than just rain, so I'm trying not to think about it. But it is in the back of my mind.

17 days!!!!! Cant wait spent the day yesterday at a beautiful lake with the friends who are going to Disney with us and we were all so excited!!!

An Orlando news station was saying they expected to be back into their normal weather pattern for Saturday the 3rd/Sunday and the following week, so that's good news!! And most of the rain should be on the east coast is what the prediction is now...and Not expecting much wind. However, being a native Floridian I worry about the tornado kickback on Friday a.m. when we are supposed to be driving 10 hours. Hopefully the worst will be over for good driving weather... or the darn thing won't turn east at all! Hey, at least the crowds may be even lower than expected! :)
4 days for us!!! :yay:

3 days and TOO MANY HOURS!
